Chapter One: Saved from the fire Emilia Rivera Pov The ride from the hotel to my apartment was slow and I was dying from the inside. I messaged Grace about my situation and told her to meet me up at the house because I have decided to leave New York for the moment to clear my head. The memory of what Ryan said about Jayden and Jessica being engaged keeps replaying in my head, between the lies and the cheating aspect, I don't know the one that pains me more, I was devastated. I was lost in thought when the driver called my attention to drop since he had reached my destination. I sighed and apologized for being absent minded and gently stepped out of the car and proceeded to my apartment. As soon as I opened the door to my apartment, I noticed my house had been ransacked. I stood here frozen because I am already tired of all these issues for today. I wondered if I offended the heavens for all these calamities that befall me today. As I was about to call the police to report, I noticed a movement in my room, I went to checked it out but got in contact with a very huge guy on the bedroom, it was like he was waiting for me to come home, I immediately shut the door and turned around to run but I was hit on the head and everything became blur and blank. I opened my eyes and the pain was unbearable. I was still confused about my environment before the whole memory of the day came running back to me, I got alerted when I remembered I was hit on the head and now I was inside this uncompleted wooden house probably in the middle of nowhere, I panicked at this sudden realization. It dawned on me that I was kidn*pped, when I saw some thugs loitering around with guns, smoking and taking hard drugs. The leader came in to meet me and said “ You should not have offended the boss, he is a very kind person but I guess you pushed him over the edge” I was surprised because I kept wondering who I am offended but I soon understand because the only person it felt like I have offended today was Jayden but I didn't do anything wrong to him, he was the one who wronged and offended him and more over he would never do that to me. I was still lost in thought, when I overheard the thugs leader answering to his boss on the phone, then he said “Yes Boss” we will delete her and the world will not hear or know about it. As soon as I heard this, I pissed on myself, because I was not only kidn*pped, I was about to be murdered and deleted without anyone knowing, I cussed Jayden in my heart and regretted the day I met him. Flashback Emilia remembered the first day she met Jayden at the Cole industries and cried even more, her heart was pierced even more when she remembered the warning of her friend “Grace”, she beat herself up mentally for not heeding to her advice but it seems like it's too late already. Back to present After ending the call, the leader of the thugs signalled his minions and they started pouring petrol over the place. I started to beg the leader to have mercy on me and release me but it fell on deaf ears. After pouring the petrol, they lit it up anf the fire spread quickly. I was still begging them when they left. I tried losing the rope but it was not possible, it was connected to one of the properties there. As the fire was burning, the smoke started making me weak. I was losing my breath due to the smoke I was inhaling, I was seeing my own death but I couldn't do anything. Everywhere became blurry and I was on the ground until darkness enveloped me. If I ever have a second chance, I will make Jayden Cole suffer and beg for death, I was still murmuring this until I lost consciousness. —---------------------- A strong hand jacked Emilia up from the ground and escaped with her on the fire, he dropped a body on the scene and left, when the thugs came back after the fire died down, they reported the situation and were commanded to deposit th e body to where no man could find it.
