Just a poor country Boy

It was Michaels freshman year about Christmas time, he was enjoying gym class when a call over the loud speaker for him to report to the office. Not knowing what was going on he did as requested and left gym only to find his nervous uncle Joe waiting for him outside the office with a folder in his hand. Michael entered the office and was told he would be going home, not sure why Micheal went back to class gathered his things and left with his uncle, on the way to the truck he could tell something was wrong with uncle Joe. On the ride home Michael could not take the tension of the silent ride and asked what was wrong " what's wrong uncle Joe is everything ok", all Joe could do is look at his nephew and say to him " Micheal no matter what know that me and your aunt Sandra love you very much" with tears in his eyes he looked back at the road and continued to drive. Micheal now confused and scared did not know what was going on, once home all look ok, the pulled up to the house and got out of the truck only for Micheal to realize that his parents were fighting and is was bad he could hear everything from out side the house. He looked at his uncle Joe and began to run to the house as you hear something slam in to the wall and shatter, as he entered the house his stepmother caught him in the head with her steal cane this act infuriated his dad which then cause him to grab his step mother and and hold her at bay while he ran away. Micheal made it to his room only to hear his father screaming to Cindy his step mom " YOU WANT TO HIT MY SON IN THE HEAD F****** HIT ME YOU B**** HE AINT BUT 12 YRS OLD" This went on for hours , even to the point uncle Joe had just left and Micheal has to crawl out of his window to go and feed the horses. On his way back to the house he could still hear them yelling and didn't wanna go back in the house but knew he had to do that his dad didn't do something bad to Cindy so he walked In threw the porch hoping that "mom" didn't hear him. He entered the house and as he closed the door as softly as he could Cindy cam by the mud room window, only to glare at him with the look of pure hatred. Micheal never looked back at her acted as if she wasn't there and went looking for his father, only to find him sitting on his bunk bed on his room crying " Dad what in the world is happening" mike asked, " I found this in your mom's car while fixing it " he responded, as he handed his son a folded up paper. in confusion mike opened the paper to reveal what was to be a love letter. To my dearest Cindy, I am so happy we found one another I have no been able to think about anything else but you last night was amazing you are truly a blessing and a beautiful woman..... at this point Scott Mike's father grabs the letter which was good because he didn't wanna know what the rest of the letter said , look at his son he says " at first I wasn't sure what the letter meant so I went to you mom's work and say there was a auto detailing shop next door I walked into the office and talked to the owner never saying who I was just that I was looking for the Owner of a cream colored Cadillac, he looked at me with large eyes almost scared saying he didn't know the owner personally but knew it was a blonde woman that spent alotta time in the shop next door and one of his employees often cleaned the car on his lunch break " at this point mike just sat on his gaming chair blankly looking at his dad, sadly Scott continued " oh ok" I said to the man "can I speak with the employee because I need some info on the car" the shop owner was hesitant at this point , but walked into the shop and brought a man to the office who went by the name of Greg ( according to his uniform) , by this point mike wasn't sure what to say so only asked " didn't Mom say she had a work friend named Greg " while looking at his dad beginning to cry. Scott responds to his son " yes you are right and I should have seen This a long time ago, so I pull the note from my short pocket and place it on the desk and this Greg turned pale white and I instantly get so mad I couldn't contain myself lucky for me you uncle Joe was picking up parts for his truck at the shop on the corner and saw my truck and came to talk for a min only find me pulling Greg over the desk he stopped me before I did something bad and got it all outside we ended up talking to Greg and we're able to keep the owner from calling the state police." looking at his dad mike asked so who is Greg and what does he have to do with anything" scott looking at Mike's face that was full of wonder and confusion responds " Greg and you mom have been dating" at this point mike gets mad " but wait I thought only you and mom go on dates is she cheating on you?", " you know the dating rules I take it son" Scott asked his boy in response. " Ya dad just like the country song says you know the one it goes " one man and one girl" not 2 men" mike says very loudly, and just before Cindy bursts onto the room beyond mad ,at this point the whole house is shaking at this point mike hears his little sister come home from cheerleading and he attempted to run to her to keep her from seeing the turmoil in the house between there parents but was to late Cindy beans him in the head yet again but mike being a foot ball player and a farm boy was able to brush it off, but not without becoming insanely upset that his " mom " is trying to hit him with her cane again he ends up punching the wall next to her so hard he knocks a stud loose. that sent Scott over the edge and he flips, next thing you know Mike's dad goes to his g*n cabinet and get out a hunting rifle a shot g*n and his revolver. Cindy's eyes widen with fear. Mike was able to get his sister into her room away from everything and get her I to play her video games with her headset on so that she couldn't hear what was still going on In the living room. At this point mike was Able to turn his attention back to his dad and what was going on only to hear Scott tell Cindy" I'll give you the shot g*n but I better kill me cause I don't miss" as he lays it on the desk in front of her and returns to his room. Cindy at this point is totally freaky and calls the police. Standing in the dining room frozen in amazement mike didn't know what to do, he dad exits the bed room only to revel that both his hunting rifle and the revolver and loaded and In his hands, mike don't move from his dad's path even when asked and told to move by his father. Scott takes aim on his boy , mike the looks into his dad's eyes and only can see black nothing but a empty void the same thing he reads about in his stories in school about when some is pushed to there breaking point. Now fearing for his own life mike fleas the house and goes to there hay barn to hide only to find his sister there also asleep in her sleeping bag with large puffy eyes he know that she figured it out and came to the barn and cryed her self to sleep, so he goes to a door and Lola down at the house only to see his dad sitting on the porch as if he was waiting for something. Mike lays down near his sister and whispers to her" I'm here now baby girl I got you" . What felt like hours passed by mike awakes to more screaming , hoping his dad was still on the porch he checks but much to his surprise mike sees many cops all over his yard large black Vans and what looked like soldiers to him have surrounded his home . Mike leaves the loft as fast as he can locking it behind him to keep his lil sister as safe as possible only to find his dad being arrested and stuffed in a car , mike sprints to his dad only to be tackled to the ground by to cops now all he wants is to leave he runs to the neighbors and calls his uncle Joe to come get him a his sister.
