Chapter 10

Elena's Pov My face evolved beautifully again right after sunset. It was miraculous, and I was stunned to see my face, which was once hideous. In just a matter of seconds, my face turned mightily pretty. It was like I was looking at someone else in the mirror. I almost didn't recognize myself. This was a pleasure and strange at the same time. Something like this has never happened to me before. I've never had this kind of odds before. My face has always been hideous, no matter day or night. But why did this miraculous thing happen to me? Should I ask Grey about what really happened to me? Does this all have something to do with that guy? Damn it, after thinking about him once more, I also remembered his absurd offer from earlier if I would forfeit my virginity for him in exchange for money. Sounds ridiculous and cheap. He must be crazy to think I'm a w***e he can buy at will. No, he was not crazy. On the contrary, he's brilliant. He did it all for the benefit of himself and his family. He used me only to help him break the curse. But still, I couldn't refute it. Grey was the person who treated me quite well. Perhaps we weren't destined to know each other well. We had nothing in common other than we were soul mates. Even I couldn't feel the vibe that we were destined to be together by the Goddess of the moon. I'm sure Grey doesn't know anything about my past or who I am. He might not even love me, but it's better that way. To avoid the heartache of rejection, he was frank about his feelings that he didn't want me. He just needed me. But the worst part was, I couldn't hate him either. Although he used me, he was also generous enough to give me a second chance at life, and he saved me from the brink of death. I have to accept everything he gave me. He is my mate, my alpha, and I'm his Luna. I know how cruel fate is to those who don't deserve to survive. This world might be filled with powerful and greedy people. The world might also have such cruelty, but at least Grey wasn't a stranger I had the right to ignore. He looked lonely. And that made me feel bad. No matter how cruel the way he asked for my body was, I still had to pay for his kindness. Even though he sounded evil, it didn't mean his soul was damaged and incapable of doing good, right? I've tried to convince myself. Maybe that's the truth behind this curse. Perhaps Grey, with his extraordinary abilities, is the key to getting rid of the curse, to freeing people from suffering. If so, the sooner he succeeds, the sooner I can find someone better than him to care for me. My heart already felt lighter. After all, he had helped me in my time of need. How could I hate someone who had saved my life? "Elena! Open the door!" I was stunned to hear him shouting so loudly at the door. I quickly ran to the door and fasted to open it. "What happened?" I asked when I saw Grey was neatly dressed. He looked very handsome in an all-black suit. His skin shone like freshly polished marble. "Why are you so dressed up tonight?" I ask. Tonight isn't even over, but I can already see how tired he was. He sighed before speaking, his voice low and deep. "Come with me. I want to show you something." He said before grabbing my hand and pulling me towards a staircase that connected to the rooftop of this mansion. We both got to the highest place in this mansion. The light of the city glistened. We could see the skyscrapers that looked so peaceful and beautiful. The sky was pitch black with no stars at all. But that didn't bother me. My eyes remain open, always looking around in astonishment. Grey pulled me past several large flower pots on the rooftop until we finally stopped beside a balcony. My legs felt weak as if they would give up at any moment. It looks so high and dark up here, and I feared the heights. I was so scared of falling. That's why I was holding on to the railing behind me. We both stood there silently for a few moments before the man spoke again. "Elena..." He called my name in a husky voice. He grabbed my waist and pulled me towards him. I gasped in shock. I didn't expect him to do this. "Grey..." I whined. "Ssshh..." Grey hushed me. He hugged me tightly, and he caressed my hair. My head touched his chest, and I could hear his heartbeat chimes. I feel calm. Calm. Like all my worries melted away, even though he couldn't understand what I was thinking all night about him. He kisses my forehead gently, and I close my eyes holding on tight, enjoying his hug. Its pheromone scent makes me feel comfortable. His body felt warm and soothing. The skin is smooth to the touch, and the scent is exciting. My mind seemed to go crazy. This was not the plan. My body responded differently than it should have when indulged in this pleasure. He blew on my skin as his lips and cheek touched mine. Grey grabbed my chin and lifted it gently, he brought his lips to mine, and he kissed me passionately. I didn't know what was going through my mind, but I embraced his warm kisses. I surrender myself to Grey's lust. I could taste the minty scent of his toothpaste, and I felt woozy with a mixture of desire for him and overwhelming confusion. I didn't understand what he was doing to me or what was happening between us, but it seemed like all my senses were shutting down as he kissed me deeply. His fingers are tangled in my hair, holding me down so tightly that the only way to move is to push back. The way he pulled me closer made every inch of my body tingle. His scent filled my nose with every breath we shared as we explored each other's mouths.
