Goodbye.
The Wanderer kept returning to that moment, to the final message it had sent to Jess. Moments after sending the message the ship had punched its way into jump space, following the commands of its new captain.
The Guardian’s instructions were clear. Get back to Sanctuary as quickly as possible. The Wanderer was doing everything it could to obey those commands. It had no choice. The Guardian had supplanted Jess as captain, and the Wanderer had to obey the captain.
