Chapter 50
Teeko ran to the observation window in the back of the room. Rearing up it started smashing against the clear material with its powerful front legs. The barrier vibrated slightly but showed no other signs of the force it was being subjected to. Teeko was screaming at the barrier the whole time, a deep throated screech which tore at Jess’s heart.
Jess moved closer, calling and shouting to distract Teeko. The alien didn’t even notice. Jess took a tentative step forward then moved back again. The way Teeko was hammering on the glass Jess could be smashed aside without Teeko even realising what had happened.
Jess stood where he was, trying to think of something else to try. Teeko’s screeching didn’t make that any easier. He found himself thinking about what must have happ
