Chapter 30 Clay sighed as he arrived at the cargo bay doors, wishing he was flying patrol again. Being back in space with a purpose, a decent purpose, had felt incredible. He’d felt alive in ways he hadn’t for weeks. The best part had been the freedom to fly the patrol however he wanted. When the time came to leave he’d landed reluctantly. From the moment he climbed out of the cockpit he’d been itching to get back in. Zeek had assured him that he would be able to fly patrol the next time they reached a station. Clay had spent the rest of the day checking over his fighter once more. That had been the day before. With nothing else to spend his time on Clay had decided to help out in the cargo bay again. It was better than nothing, but it was far from the joy he got from flying. C
