CHAPTER 25 Ariel's POV I stood at the foot of Dermos's bed, watching as the nurse, a cheerful-looking woman with a warm smile, checked his vitals. She was efficient, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that she was touching Dermos a bit, too much. She adjusted the bandage on his abdomen, her fingers lingering on his skin a little longer than necessary. Dermos's eyes were on the ceiling, his expression neutral, but I knew him well enough to see the faint amusement in his gaze. I felt a twinge of irritation, and I had to force myself to relax.
