A Run In The Woods.

Laura's POV. I sat in my office after the disappointing events at the mate claiming ceremony. I had decided the best way to console myself and relieve tension that had built up is to immerse myself in work. After all, I'm still the Luna of the Pack. I'm not about to abdicate my responsibilities to that b***h. At least, not until I'm ready to do so. And when I do, it would be on my own terms. The realization that I had lost out again at the ceremony was not soothing, to say the least Looking back now, maybe I could have aborted the ceremony. Maybe I could have stopped it entirely from happening. But after a more careful thought, I've seen that aborting the ceremony would not have changed things. He would have still done what he wants to do. After all, he had moved her into the mansion even before the event. Talking about Alpha Josh, I'm now starting to see the intense conflict going on within him.. On the one hand, he loves me as his Luna and legally married wife and on the other hand, he loves his mate and cannot do without her. Even though he still professes love for me, why didn't he tell me of the devious plans of his mate until she successfully carried them out? His reply was that he didn't know she would go to the extent of poisoning me and six of my associates from my former Pack. Though he was honest enough to admit she once told him she hated my guts. That I have taken her position as the rightful Luna of the Pack. I'm not interested in arguing with Shirley or anyone else about the propriety or otherwise of my being the Luna. Events have since overtaken that. Now I'm much more focused on my carefully laid out plans of moving to another Pack with my people and taking my full revenge. Since I was finding it hard to concentrate and do any meaningful work at the moment, I closed the file I was treating and closed the door of my office. One thing I want to do now, more than anything else is take a run. As a Werewolf, taking a run from time to time should be second nature to me. Within a few minutes, I was in my favorite trail just a bit outside the camp boundaries. I stepped behind a shrub and shifted into my brown wolf. In no time, I had started running. As I ran deeper into the forest, I was being careful not to stray into enemy territory. I was still very much within friendly territory when i caught sight of a Wolf. A big black wolf. It was under a tree and watching me as I ran. Suddenly, I stopped, backtracked and started running back. Whether it was a rogue or friendly Wolf, I didn't care to find out. I wasn't in the mood to confront any wolves, whether friendly or not, at this time. So, I continued to run in the direction I set out from. As I neared our camp, I was welcomed by a white wolf which was wagging it's tail. I immediately recognized her to be Sarah, one of my associates from the Blue Ridge Pack. She's one of those poisoned with me. We both ran the remaining distance side by side until I signalled that we stop. Then we both shifted back into our human form. "How did you know I was in the woods?"I asked Sarah, still surprised at seeing her. "I was talking a run, too when I saw you coming," She replied. "Did you see that Wolf," I asked. "No, Luna," she replied. "Ok, you have been mind-linking me all day. You have something to discuss with me?" "A lot of things, Luna," she replied. "Alright, we would have time to talk," I said as we walked towards the Alpha's mansion.
