I shot Blade a glance and asked, “Your organization wants Spark too?”
“Of course, we do!”
Blade nodded. “Who wouldn’t want to get their hands on such important research, not to mention that it coincides with Professor Lopez’s dying wish. No matter what happens, the research mustn’t fall into the hands of an international criminal organization like the Apocalypse. The consequences would be unimaginable otherwise.”
A pause later, Blade continued, “Spark becoming ours is the best possible outcome. If the project is successful, the amount of profit it would generate would be unthinkable. It could turn Rhea into one of the top 10 richest people in the world in an instant—assuming she knows where the data is, of course.”
“I’m certain she knows nothing about it.” I thought for a moment
