Chapter 4The reflections of framed records behind a mahogany desk demand Jasper’s attention the moment he enters the spacious office. Opposite the desk is a wall covered with concert photos of various artists, the performers standing proudly by a black man in the artist’s merchandise with an equally proud grin on his face in each one. Jasper recognizes most of the artists for their music and the award shows and after parties they’ve attended. He’s trying to think of a single time he’s seen any of their names being blasted with negative media, but it’s reassuring to him that he can’t.
