Chapter 5Jules doesn’t stay much longer. The conversation moves to happier things as Ryan plans to come by the house tomorrow to pack and move his belongings. Jules is all smiles as they discuss him moving out at last, which makes Ryan so happy. Her clear adoration for Jasper is so heartwarming, Ryan can’t help but feel relieved. He doesn’t miss the occasional flashes of sadness in Jasper’s eyes, though.
He’s glad when his mom says, “Darling, you look exhausted. I’ll leave you alone,” finishes her glass of champagne, congratulates the couple once more, and heads out.
