Chapter 2

Arinze narrated everything the doctor said even the part of the daily deposit. If it was someone else she won't have added it, but Stacy is her best friend she can't possibly hide anything from her.

" Glioblastoma! That cant be possible, so, have you gone to her room to see how she is doing "Stacy said trying to withhold the tears threatening to fall she couldn't believe that the woman she takes as a mother is suffering from a very aggressive cancer and she is in a coma fighting for her life. She had known Arenze since elementary school and because she hated the way Arenze was bulled she stood for her whenever those poker face tried to bully her and that's how they became close friends. She knows Arenze's dad left when she was 2 and since then tears never seized from falling off her eyes. The young woman crying next to her has gone through a lot in life and losing her mother is something she never wished for. She was jolted backed to reality when she heard Arenze's voice.

" You want me to see my mum Stacy, don't you get it! Right from the elementary school down to college and then modeling and singing academy my mother has been there helping in every way she can, though my dad left while I was just a child she made sure I never missed him a bit even if I cant get a clear picture of his face anymore she made sure I never spare a thought about him. Now she is lying in a hospital bed fighting for her life and I can't do anything about it. The doctor asked for 500,000$ but what I have with me is just 200,000$ I am confused right now I feel like I am riding a roller coaster all alone and there is no one to help " Arenze said letting tears flow freely from her eyes.

" Don't say that dear I am always here to help " Stacy said hugging her tightly she knew that's all she wanted right now " About the money, I will loan you 800,000$ for your mum's treatment If you add the 200,000$ with you it can be enough for just two days I guess, don't worry we are in this together?" she said breaking free from the hug.

In the center of Califonia, a skyscraper stood like a mighty king. Inside one of the biggest offices, a man in his early 30s leaned on his couch in his office as he was going through some files his hair was combed back neatly his skin was light and spotless his lips were pink, he was wearing a blue tuxedo which fitted his skin perfectly. Just then the door of the office was opened and a young man walked in nervously.

" Speak " the man in a tuxedo said with a cold voice that could remove the soul out of anyone.

" boss good news and bad news, " the young man said he looked at his boss he was still going through the files as if a human was not standing in front of him he knew without an answer that he could continue. " Boss, the good news is we've found the people responsible for your mother's accident but the bad news is they are not entirely linked to the accident they were sent by someone but I have tried to find the person he happens to be mysterious," the man said walking to the table and dropping some folders on it. Deep down he wished all the information he had on the folder was enough.

the man dressed in a tuxedo flipped through the paper with an expressionless face " this is it " the man said with a cold voice making his assistant tremble "I want more information in the next 24 hours and keep a close eye on the both of them. If that's all you can leave my office " the man said maintaining his cold aura.

" B...Boss the board of directors are in the conference room they asked to see you immediately," the young man said

" Tell them I will join them when I am done going through the files," the man in the tuxedo said he wasn't bothered if the board of directors was in the conference room as far as he was concerned they have no right to raise an impromptu meeting without his knowledge.

" Boss your dad is also here and he is trying to come into your office but the security is keeping him in place but is afraid they might not be able to hold him longer " as much as

he does not want to say it but he has to. His boss hates people coming into his office and deep down he knew that if his father comes into his office he might lose his job.

" Keep him in place, now leave my office," the man said raising his head to look at his assistant he was not one to speak much. He picked up the folder his assistant brought and went through it again he clench his fist tightly those fools will pay for daring to cross path with the king of the underworld.

Just then the door slammed open revealing a middle-aged man walking in hurriedly in anger.

" How dare you stop me from entering your office Shawn do you realize that I am still the owner of this company," Mr. Jason said in anger

" Then let me step down for you to take over the position of the CEO again," Shawn said working for his hands on the keyboard of his laptop he didn't spare his father a glance which got his father even angrier.

Mr. Jason was dumbfounded by the response of Shawn. He had trained Shawn to be a compatible competitor in the business world but he never expected his son to be this cold and arrogant even to him " you have guts don't you! The next time I will come into this company and your security embarrasses me then I will be left with no choice but to hand over the company to your younger brother " Mr. Jason said shouting on top of his voice.

" I would be glad to repeat it, Mr. Jason," Shawn said still working on his laptop he hasn't even glanced at his father for once. He doesn't have time to argue with people he tells them what to do and if they don't do it they face the consequences .again Mr. Jason was taken aback by Shawn's answer he had said this to threaten him he never believed he didn't even flinch a bit " Do you realize what u are doing I..........

" Get out of my office or I will make my top security help, you have 2 seconds," Shawn said interrupting his father's words

" you will pay for this Shawn," Mr. Jason said and stormed out of the room slamming the door loudly " he was one not to relent but he knew Shawn meant everything he said and if he remained in that office his dignity might be be be washed to mud. He is going to make Shawn pay for talking to the owner of J.J's group arrogantly.

" b.......boss I tried he.......

" change everything in my office before I come back from the meeting and the next time something like this happens you will be fired, " Shawn said ignoring his dumbfounded assistant.

" Yes boss," the assistant said how was he to change everything in this office in less than an hour indeed working for Shawn is like a death sentence.

In front of the unine hospital, a black car with tinted glass was packed, inside a young man wearing a black tuxedo was making a call.

" boss she just left the hospital, I think her mother was admitted, " the man said watching Arenze and Stacy enter a taxi and leave.

" I want you to keep a close eye on her we will strick pretty soon and don't forget to kill the surveillance cameral around that environment, " the man from the other phone said with an evil grin on his face " I want you to find anything you can find on Stacy Dan she happens to be Arenze best friend she can be a very good asset to us, " the man said with a smirk on his face.
