Ashton Green sat in the grass near the football field and stretched while watching her boyfriend, Sean, prepare for tonight's game. Practically the entire town came to watch Thursday night football and her boyfriend, quarterback Sean Williams, was the star. As Sean's girlfriend and cheer captain, Ashton was equally as popular. Her best friends, Sarah and Layla , were next to her chatting about last weekends party. "Earth to Ashton...." Layla yelled while throwing her pompoms at Ashton. Startled, Ashton looked back at them. "We asked what you wanted to do to celebrate your 18th birthday this weekend" said Layla. "We should do a huge lake party" continued Sarah. Ashton hesitated, glancing back at Sean, "I don't know, Sean might have something planned." Truth is, Ashton wasn't into parties, and with her dad away on a work trip, she was planning on just staying home and spending some time with Sean. Maybe even finally going all the way with him. "Sean would understand that your friends want to celebrate your birthday with you too." said Layla. "Yeah, this might be our last night to party together before graduation" added Sarah. "Please, please, please" they both begged in unison. "Alright" Ashton rolled her eyes, laughing. "Just let me double check with Sean before you start inviting the entire town!" "Deal!" Both girls shouted. Ashton and Sean had been dating since freshmen year of high school. As captain of the cheer squad and star football player, they were the hot, it-couple of Silverpine High School. Sean was tall and muscular. Built like a typical football player. His sandy blonde hair and blue eyes sealed the deal as being the hottest guy in school. Unlike typical jocks, Sean was incredibly sweet and caring. He was also smart. He truly was the whole package. Ashton was petite. Her brown hair and brown eyes made her look like Sean's complete opposite, yet, together they made a cute couple. Ashton was a simple girl, never wore too much make or liked flashy things but she was gorgeous, fun, and one of the nicest girls you would ever meet. To the outside world, they were the perfect, small town high school sweethearts. But Ashton had moments of uncertainty. Sean was a wonderful boyfriend, very attentive, loyal and never pressured her into anything, but she couldn't help but feel like something was missing. Those butterflies or fireworks you're supposed to feel weren't there. Ashton had started to wonder if they ever would be. Or maybe it was just something of fairy tales and that kind of love and passion didn't exist. "Maybe once I give all of myself to him, I'll feel that spark, that connection I've been searching for" Ashton thought to herself. "What better time to loose my virginity than on my 18th birthday" her mind continued to wander. Sounds of a whistle snapped Ashton back to reality. She glanced at her phone and realized it was already after 5pm. Kickoff is only a little over an hour away. Time to get ready for one of our last high school football games.
