"Cora Lynn Jones! You'll be late for school if you don't get down those stairs this minute." Cora grabbed her bookbag and used her vampire speed to run down the stairs. "Cora, how often do you have to be told, no vampire speed in the house?" Cora's mom, Betty, asked her. "I'm sorry, mom, I'm just excited. It is my birthday; after all, I finally have a chance to start looking for my mate today."
