Just Theresa was somehow giving Sebastian the silent treatment, it made him very uneasy. To clear things out Sebastian finally decided to ask Theresa what went wrong.
“Uhmm- did I say anything that made you uncomfortable or did I do something you did not like? Whatever it might be, I’m sorry.” Sebastian hurriedly explained himself, In fact, he really does not know what got into her or what he ever did. He just does not want for her to act like that towards him.
Theresa laughed lightly as she positioned herself in front of Sebastian.
“You did not do anything wrong at all, why are saying sorry? In fact, I am very happy today. Truly happy.”
“But why are you so quiet all of a sudden? I mean it’s not like I am complaining; I am just used to you talking. I am not so good with starting conversations though and you have been the one doing most of it for the past weeks.” Sebastian answered as he laughed faintly.
“Well, can I be honest with you?” Theresa asked as she paused and Sebastian nodded. “I- I don’t know it’s just that as the day slowly coming to an end, the reality of you finally leaving tomorrow is sinking deeper into my thoughts.” Theresa added as she smiled faintly.
Sebastian was taken aback by Theresa’s sudden admission of feelings and thoughts, he did not expect for her to feel and react that way. In fact he was holding himself in with that same feeling as well. As he was about to say something Theresa added.
“I just- I just became close to you. I mean, I just got to know you better. A different side and perspective of you and somehow you made me very comfortable whenever you are around, you are the only person who made me feel like I am just me, a normal person and not Theresa Wilson, the sole heiress of Wilson’s Corp and Industry.” Theresa spoke as tears suddenly fell from her eyes.
Sebastian who was lost for words and felt the same thing Theresa was feeling suddenly embraced her as he wrapped her hands around Theresa and slowly stroked her hair.
“I honestly feel the same way. I wish I had the courage to talk to you earlier on those previous years so we could have spent much longer time together and have known each other much better earlier. But nothing will change Theresa. I- I will always be here for you, from this day and forward, we will still keep in touch and next year we can see each other often when you transfer there for college as well.” Sebastian answered as he tried his best to calm Theresa down.
But what Theresa did not know was that if only he could stay and be with her then he would. He was willing to trade anything just to be beside Theresa, but this time is not the best time for that yet. He needs to finish college and prove to Theresa’s parents that he is worthy of their daughter, so for now he will have to endure the distance and make sure to take care of her from a far.
Theresa broke off from the embrace and looked up at Sebastian as he wiped the tears in her eyes.
“You are right, a year will pass by fast and I can be with you in college next year.” Theresa answered as she forced a smile. “But promise me you will truly keep in touch, okay?” Theresa added.
“Of course, I will call you as often as possible and we can video chat if you like. And if you feel lonely or sad or you just wanted someone to talk to you can call or text me any time of the day, even in the wee hours of the night.”
“Okay, I promise as well.”
The night went on faster after that, as it was finally time for them to leave and go home. Sebastian sent Theresa home on time as promised as he headed home himself.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day was finally the day Sebastian would leave for Country S to study for college. His flight was at noon, so Mrs. Smith decided they would leave early. In fact, she will be accompanying him for a week, to help her son settle down.
The night before, Sebastian requested to Theresa not to come and send him off. Even if Theresa had been bugging him with his flight schedule, he did not give in the reason why they had already bid their farewell the night before. Sebastian could not imagine seeing Theresa sending him off and knowing they wouldn’t be seeing each other for a long time.
Not long after, Sebastian and his mom finally arrived at the airport. As they finished checking in their baggage. Rupert, who is Sebastian’s best friend and assistant, suddenly came over and informed Mrs. Smith of a situation.
Listening to what Rupert explained, Mrs. Smith couldn’t help but smile and feel warm in her heart. She then glanced at Sebastian, who was already looking at her with a questioning look.
“Someone is here to see you before you go.” Mrs. Smith spoke as she pointed at the back of Sebastian.
Sebastian squinted his eyes and slowly looked back as he silently hoped that it would be Theresa.
Just as he got a glance of the person standing behind him, he immediately smiled at the sight of her.
Theresa then waved hi at him and smiled as she spoke. “Surprise!”
Sebastian could not help but laugh lightly as his mom giggled at the sight of the 2 in their cute reactions.
“Hello Auntie Daisy!” Theresa greeted as Mrs. Smith smiled at her.
“Mom, can we be excused for a moment?” Sebastian suddenly asked as he looked at his mom.
“Of course son, you still have ample of time.”
Sebastian then held Theresa’s hand as he tugged her towards the far end of the lounge as Theresa gestured for them to be excused.
“What are you doing here?” Sebastian asked as he smiled at the woman smiling in front of him. “How did you know you that we are already here?”
Im reality Sebastian was very happy to see Theresa and her heart melting smile before he leave
“Dad, was talking to Uncle William earlier today and I asked dad to ask uncle. He said you just left, so I asked mom if I can come over to see you and send you off.”
“Theresa, we already talked about this. I don’t want you to send me off.” Sebastian explained calmly as he sighed. “But I am honestly glad you came.”
“I know you asked me not to see you today, but I really wanted to send you off. I mean it’s the least I can do for spending time with me the past 2 weeks.” Theresa explained briefly as she smiled. But Sebastian was quick to notice the sadness in her eyes.
Sebastian too felt the same way, but to lessen the burden he felt he decided and requested not to see Theresa on the day of his flight but to his amusement Theresa had a big surprise up on her sleeve.
Out of nowhere Sebastian was not able to hold her feelings and suddenly pulled Theresa towards him as he wrapped her in a very tight embrace.
Theresa on the other hand was caught off guard with Sebastian’s sudden gesture. But hearing his steady heartbeat, somehow calmed her down as she wrapped her hands around his waist as well.
Sebastian’s mom who was just looking afar was shocked by the sight she was seeing. At first he wanted to go over them and confront the 2 teens. But remembering what her husband told her about Sam’s request, she decided to stay still. But deep down she knew they are a perfect for each other.
“I promise to make time for you and you can call or text me anytime. We’ll pray that days will pass by fast this time.” Sebastian suddenly spoke as he slowly caressed Theresa’s hair.
“Yeah and I will always remember and keep that promise. Okay? And you will come visit on your break if you have time, right?”
“Of course. Of course.”
Theresa then break off from the embrace and faced Sebastian with teary eyes.
“I promised myself not to cry anymore today. So I will try my best to keep that promise.” Theresa spoke as she laughed faintly.
But the sight of her holding up her tears broke Sebastian’s heart. She was like a kid being punished, but was asked not to cry.
Sebastian laughed lightly and wiped the tears that build up from the side of Theresa’s eyes.
“You better go, it’s almost time for you to leave.” Theresa added as she smiled.
“I don’t want you to see me leave, instead let me see you leave okay?”
Theresa did not answer and just nodded in agreement. The 2 then walked towards Mrs. Smith who was patiently waiting for them.
“We’re sorry to keep you waiting Auntie.” Theresa spoke as she bowed her head at Mrs. Smith. “I wish you both a safe flight. I won’t keep Sebastian on hold for too long.” Theresa added as she laughed faintly.
“It’s okay dear. You take care on your way home too.”
“I better head out now. Bye auntie.” Theresa spoke and looked at Sebastian. “Bye Sebastian, I’ll see you soon.” Theresa added as she waved goodbye and immediately headed out.
“So- are you just going to stand there?” Mrs. Smith spoke as she tapped her son’s shoulder who was somehow lost in his thoughts.
Mrs. Smith had somehow sensed the emptiness in her son’s eyes the reason why she knocked some sense on him.
Sebastian looked at his mom and suddenly came running towards Theresa.
“Theresa?” Sebastian called her out as Theresa looked back at him.
Sebastian then wrapped Theresa in an embrace one last time.
“No goodbyes okay, just see you soon.” Sebastian softly spoke as he pecked a soft kiss on Theresa’s head.
“Okay and I will wait for you then.” Theresa answered back.
Soon Theresa finally left as Sebastian went back to his mom.
“So?” Mrs. Smith asked with a raised brow as if waiting for an explanation or update.
“What? Did you said your goodbye well?”
“Yes mom and thank you.” Sebastian answered as he smiled.
“You seem to dote on her. You 2 look good together though. I’d be very glad if the 2 of you will be together.” Mrs. Smith answered smiling while looking afar as she tapped her son’s shoulder.
Hearing his mom’s statement eased Sebastian more knowing somehow her mom was not against him pursuing Theresa.
“Me too mom. Me too.” Sebastian mumbled softly.
