Wedding1
Nobody ever knew who ruled around here
Many were told of the stories of the family that had openly ruled Moscow’s city criminal activities - how any of them could be hiding in plain sight as we speak.
It was a tale of old times. Passed and manipulated through generations.
It was only Moscow's underworld - the central hub of gangs, drugs, and criminal activity that had an ounce of information on the current member Of the ruling Family. All they were given was a name
Volcov.
He was a king. Merciless and vile lord who had the underworld of Moscow in the palm of his roughly inked hand.
A boy no one had heard of for over 15 years when tragedy befell his family. Now was his time he was back as a man and he was back for his revenge
Revenge that kept him up all night for 15 years.
Nikolai Andrei Volkov was born to be a king and he was trained to be just that.
And it was so simple, he was supposed to die. Things were never supposed to go wrong.
Chapter one
Giana’s pov
The world outside my window has always seemed like a painting- flat, unmoving, unreachable.
I stared blankly at the intricate patterns on the ceiling, my mind racing with the conversation I’d just overheard. Mother’s shrill voice still echoed in my ears making my skin crawl.
“It’s time she got married, Zac she’s 20 already and her prospects are dwindling by the day.”
Father's calm, yet gentle tone was a stark contrast to mothers venom. “But Priya she’s still young Can't we give her a little more time?”
I felt a panic in my chest father was always trying to defend me, but Mother's disdain for me seemed to know no bounds.
The door to my room creaked open, and Mother swept in, her eyes flashing with annoyance. “Giana come downstairs. We are having guests soon”
My heart sank. Guest? What guest?
And then it hit me - the proposal. The one father had mentioned a few days ago trying to gauge my reaction. I’d brushed it off, thinking it was one of mothers attempts to marry me off.
But now it seemed the proposal was a reality.
I took a deep breath and swung my legs over the side of the bed, my feet dangling in the air. I didn’t want to get married.
I didn’t want to be tied down to some stranger forced to play the role of the dutiful wife.
But as I stood up and smoothed out my clothes I knew I had no choice. Mother would make sure of that.
As I descended the stairs, I saw Father standing in the living room, his expression tense. Mother was hovering beside him, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
And then I saw him. The man standing opposite father was tall and broad, his dark hair on display as he looked down adjusting his tie, I got a clearer view when he looked at me.
He was strong I could tell that my much and not just in the physical sense.
Sure his broad frame and muscular physique were eye-catching but his presence was utterly dominating and intimidating.
Enough to have me sucking in a lung full of air in fear that his presence Would swallow it all up.
He had beautifully tan skin, and highly defined cheekbones that complimented his strong jaw, his striking blue eyes were cold and calculating, one of a powerful man who knew what he wanted and how to get it. And now they were glaring at me
“Ah Gianna”, father said his voice strained “This is Nikolai Volkov”
Nikolai’s gaze swept over me with the most bored expression on his face. There was almost no expression. I knew I wasn’t the prettiest but I wasn’t ugly I had big brown eyes and long black hair that fell to my lower back. And I was more on the thick size I wasn’t too fat or slim. But I was home so just wore a flowery gown.
“Delighted”, he said, his voice low and rough.
Father cleared his throat, his eyes darting nervously between me and Nikolai. “Mr. Volkov came to discuss a business proposition”
Father tried to hide it but I knew I was in trouble.
Nik’s smile was….Nikolai, I meant Nikolai his smile was cold and calculated “I’m afraid it’s more than that Giana” he said with a voice full of menace.
Mother's eyes lit up, her face alight with excitement. “Ah wonderful” she exclaimed.
But father's expression turned ashen “We’ve spoken about this and I concluded,” he said directly to Nikolai.
Nikolai's laughter was low, menacing, and almost mocking “Oh I think you’ll change your mind when you see what I have in store for you,” he said his eyes glinting with steel. “You see Mr Moretto, I have done my research. A little too well” he smiles darkly.
The implication was clear Nikolai had my father right where he wanted him
And then here I was stuck in the middle of mafia politics.
“Let’s continue this discussion in my office shall we Mr Volkov?” My father demanded
“I don’t think we have anything more to talk about Mr Morreto” he answered almost angry
“I will send me people over to discuss the details.” And with that being said he walked out of the room, leaving me trapped and helpless.
