XIV chapter

AT THE SAME TIME

AT ADAM'S POW:

When I walked inside the room, I saw a small table in the middle of the room. On the table, I noticed three pieces of paper. I walked closer to the table since I was sure that I needed to read them so I would be able to move forward. I started reading the papers.

"Dear examiner, you have chosen one of the three doors. It will depend on your next choices."

I looked at the papers and grinned.

Door 1 - "Rules are made to break them".

Door 2 - "Easy start, hard ending"

Door 3 - "Bravery is not always enough"

I started to think and it did not take me to find the right choice. I do not like rules, so it is easy for me to know what kind of direction I will go. I stepped through the door and what I saw shocked me. I saw a town that seemed to have no rules around. I had never seen anything like that before. People were running and doing random things, while others paid no attention to it. I heard a person using my place language.

-What happened? -I asked.

- There are no rules around, so it's literal chaos.-A man said.

-Where are all the people who are making rules here?-I asked.

-They are no longer needed. If you want to stay alive, you have to move quickly.-Another man said.

I looked in one direction and saw a man with a g*n running towards us.

-You have to run if you want to stay alive!-A man said and ran off.

I saw how he got closer to me and pointed a g*n at my head.

-IF YOU WISH TO STAY ALIVE, LEAVE OR I YOU!-He shouted.

-Why do you want to kill me?-I asked.

I looked at his outfit and I realized that he was from the purple section. I felt how he kept pointing his g*n at me and, for some reason, that did not make me scared. I knew that it was a simulation.

-This is only a simulation, it won't kill me.-I said with a calm tone.

I saw how that man looked at me, confused. I am sure that he did not expect this answer. I did not move from that place.

-Why are you not moving?-A man asked.

-I am not going to go since you are still planning to kill me.-I said.

Suddenly I heard a thud sound. I saw another man knocking out that guy with a g*n. I had no idea what happened, until that man turned around at me, mad.

-Why are you helping me?-I asked.

-I was told too. My name is number 8.-A man said.

-Why did someone ask to save me?-I asked.

-To make sure that you finish this exam without any problems.- Nr 8 said.

-I understand that, so what should I do?-I asked.

-You need to reach that door. Go there and don't come back. When you go through that door, the exam will be finished.-Nr. 8 said.

-I do not understand.-I said.

-Just go there as fast as you can!- He said.

I looked at the door and noticed that there were two types of doors. Each of them had a name on it.

"Last stop" was written on the first one and "Game End" was written on another one.

-With door?-I asked.

-I do not know, you have to choose it. Run!- Nr. 8 said.

I start running towards doors and see how soldiers start running in my direction. I see how that guy is trying to stop them and they are trying to shoot him.

-I am not letting you do that!-I said and ran back to the nr 8 man. I pushed them off and that man looked at me confused.

I saw how one of them was trying to shoot me but that man pushed a g*n away from me.

-What are you doing?! Run to the damn door!-Nr 8 said and gripped my hand tightly.

I saw how he started running towards the door. I was surprised and confused for a moment before he pushed me to the door.

-Choose and go inside!- Nr. 8 said.

I nodded and ran inside the room named "Last stop".

--

I see the writing. " Simulation is over, end time is five mins."

I looked around, I realized that I was inside some type of colder and then I went inside the room. I thought that it took longer than five mins. I opened my eyes and I saw that I was sitting on that chair again. I saw a woman who had begun simulating and she looked pretty scared. It seemed that she saw something unexpected.

-Come here.-She said.

I nodded and walked closer to her.

-What is wrong?-I asked.-What are my section options?

-You belong to EVERYTHING.-She said.

-I do not understand. I must belong to two or max three of them.-I said.

-You belong to every single of them. Grey is fewer of them.-She said and I got surprised even more.

-That is my home section.-I said.

-I do not know what happened.-She said.- You belong to the blue section. -She whispered it to me.

-But that section does not exist.-I say.

-It does, but everyone considers it an enemy section. So make sure that nobody knows it.-She said.

-So who must I choose at the selection ceremony?-I asked.

-Choose the one you like the most. I wrote down the BK and TTV sections. You may leave now.-She said, and I left the room.

--

I was walking down the street and I got scared about what just happened to me. I do not belong to the home section, so I can not choose this selection ceremony. I could go to BK or TTV. It's kinda sad that my home section is less fitting for me than the outside ones. I mean when I leave, dad will probably be forever mad at me. We have that saying and for sure it means a lot to him. " Knowledge is more important than life, but not that important as a family". I know that this saying is really special to my father. I am still not sure what I will do about it. I was walking down the street and saw people from the BK section taking way longer patrols and having way more people than usual.

It is the second time I have seen them on this street. Dom said that they were taking longer practice days to make sure that everything was alight. It looks a bit weird to me, but I still get confused about that revolution thing. When I finally came back home, father was already waiting for me.

-How was your test?-He asked.

-It was alright.-I said, looking straight into his eyes.

I do not want him to know that I got quite nervous about it.

-what you got?-He asked.

-I got ours and BK.-I said.

I saw how he nodded and smiled. I am happy that he does not know that I do not suit this place most.

-That is good, tomorrow you will be able to choose your home section.-Dad said.

-What do you mean by tomorrow? It was supposed to happen in two weeks.-I said.

-Because of that revolution, everything was made way earlier than normal. I think that it is easier for everyone to do it right now than wait. I think that everyone does not want to put students in danger because of it.-Dad said and I nodded.

I left my room and sighed. I thought I would be able to think of a plan, but now I must think of luck. I must choose something that will work out in the end and I hope that I will be able to make the right choice.

I think that one good thing because of it is that I might meet Caroline soon. I miss her.

AT THE SAME TIME

AT CAROLINE'S POW:

I was sitting on my bed and thinking about how the exam went. The only way we got some information was through the newspapers, so it was pretty hard to get it freshly. I was worried that mom would be mad at me, so I had to obey her.

-I got a new newspaper and the choosing ceremony is tomorrow.-Mom said.

-It was supposed to be next week.-I said.

-I think it's because of that revolution thing.-Mom said.-I can tell that you are still worried about him.

-I miss him, so it's quite normal.-I said.

-I understand that.-Mom said and I nodded.

-I hope that he will be alright.-I said.

-He is a smart boy, so I am sure that he will make the right choice.-Mom said, and left to another room.

It seems that mom likes him a bit after all.
