She could only think of one person she could trust to see her like this and not judge. Veronica couldn't call her family they felt the loss, maybe not like her because it was her baby. Well, they would tell her to call Cole, but he left right after she was born and died. So she called a friend from high school that she hadn't talked to in years, Alexander, but I call him lex. The hospital required her to be released to a friend or family due to high risk of suicide, though the diagnosis was severe postpartum depression coupled with grief and loss of a child. He came right away. Apparently, he worked on the hospital she had been in for the last month and a half. Immediately, he had a bright smile and said, " I am surprised you called me honestly why." She replied with," I knew I could trust you without the judgment that my mom would have or the helicopter, My sister would be on top of their pity. " He shook his head and sat down at the foot of her hospital bed and started with " you know i do know them, and I know that they would be there for you if you let them. I'm not saying I won't help cause I will, I just wanted to make that clear." She looked at lex and smiled softly and said," I know that they love me and that they would try their best to help me, but I need someone that doesn't have the same grief but knows me well enough to know how to talk me down or talk me up if need be." Lex nodded to her and said," Okay, when you get released, you can stay with me, and I will be your support person. Before she could reply, the doctor walked in and stopped short and said, " Nurse, I was unaware anyone was in here. Can you please leave us so I can talk to the patient." Veronica answered first," Doctor Marshall, this is my support person he just happens to work here, I was just explaining to him what I needed from him as my support person." Doctor Marshall stares for a second and seems to shake himself out of a stupor, smiles politely and hands over the paperwork.
