Scars on heart

Chapter 3

Fin opened the door of Crystal and Anna,

Anna was sitting on the passenger seat, while Fin open the front door for Crystal, she stares at him first but then headed inside quietly,

Anna was smiling so cute, seems like she was so excited about her new life, but a little fear was still visible in her eyes, and it was the fear of rejection if Crystal's parents reject her, then what she will do or where she will go, but still she was happy at least she could meet Crystal,

"Shall we go", Fin asked her and she nodded her head,

Fin started the drive, and it was going to quiet until Anna speak,

"Crystal, I am scared", said Anna with a sad face, and Crystal turned her head to face her, as Fin was watching her from the mirror,

"Anna, I told you not to worry, I am with you, and I know my parents will surely accept you, and trust me if they do not, then I will convince them, just do not worry", said Crystal and caressed Anna's face,

Anna smiled and sat back in her seat,

Fin was driving towards her house, but he does not know exactly where she lives,

"Crystal", he said and she turned her face towards him, her eyes were wet and sad, hiding oceans of emotions inside them, she wiped her eyes, and replied to him "yes",

"Will you please tell me the proper  address of your house", Fin asked and she nods,

"Straight from here and then left", said Crystal, as Fin already crossed the half of her house,

Crystal was scared too, although her parents are too kind and pure innocent, still, she is not sure that they will accept Anna just like they did her,

Fin followed the instruction as Crystal was telling him, and he somehow looked confused, Crystal could not help but ask,

"What happened, why you look confused", she asked,

"Nothing, seems like I know the place you are mentioning", said Fin and Crustal become quiet,

"Just stop there", said Crystal, and Fin stopped the car where she told him,

"This is your house Crystal", asked Fin as he was a little surprised,

"Yes, it is, what happened", she asked,

Fin opened the door for Crystal and she came out, and then he opened the door for Anna also, as she also came out, a cute smile was on her face as she looked at the house,

Before Crystal could be asked something to Fin her mother came out from the house as she heard the honk of the car,

She was looking a little surprised as she saw Fin,

"Fin, dear, is that you", her mother asked in surprise, and Fin turned his face to see her mom,

"Oh, aunty, how are you", asked Fin as her mother pulled him into a hug,

Crystal was a little surprised as Fin has some connection to her mom, she felt a little weird, why the things turn this way,

"Mom, you know him", asked Crystal and her mom pulled back, as she nods her head, and confusion was written on Fin's face,

"Mom"??, "Is Crystal is your daughter, how, I mean when did it happen", Fin asked with a confused face,

And mom was looking a little worried too,

"Let us go inside, then we will talk, come Fin", my mom said but then her gaze fell on Anna,

"Who is she Crystal, did you bring a friend home", my mom asked and I started biting my lips, I was tensed about how my mom will react,

"Mom, I will tell you, first let us get inside", I said and she nods, four of us headed inside my house,

My mom was normal now, but I was scared to share what happened with Anna and how did I bring her home,

"Sit Fin, Crystal and you too, pretty girl, I am going to bring some water for you all", my mom said and she went into the kitchen,

Anna holds my hand tightly, as she was so afraid, and I give her an assurance smile, that does not worry, everything will be gonna alright,

Mom gave us water and I chugged the whole glass in one go, I was hell nervous,

"When did you adopt Crystal aunt, and why you did not come to meet me", Fin asked and he was looking so curious to know about me,

"I am so sorry dear, I did not get the chance to meet you, and it is approx eleven months since we adopted Crystal officially, my mom said, and once again my old wound was getting green,

"But how did you know Crystal, Fin", my mom asked and he smiled,

"I just met her in my college", said Fin and smiled, Fin's stupid smile was irritating Crystal as she was afraid that the matter of her will be open again,

"But aunt, how did you get Crystal", Fin asked all of sudden, and Crystal did not want to talk about it, nor she wants that Fin gets to know about her past,

"Mom, how did you know him, you did not tell me yet", asked Crystal cutting him off, as Fin could feel that Cyrstal does not want to share this part, and her mom also realized that what Crystal want,

"Fin is my best friend's son, she was more like a sister for me", my mom said with a sad smile,

"Was", Crystal asked, and Fin's face also become sad,

"Yes, she died last year due to a blood infection in her body", my mom said and a tear escaped from the corner of her eyes, the pain of losing her best friend was clearly visible in her eyes,

And the sadness in Fin's eyes was also visible, the pain of losing her mother was there,

I felt guilty for behaving with him badly back then in college,

"Oh, I am so sorry for your loss Fin, I did not know about your loss", I said with a sad face, I feel really bad for him,

"It is okay Crystal, it is not your fault, do not worry, I am fine", said Fin with a small sad smile,

"Fin, what you would like to eat dear, I was making lunch, do not dare to go without eating Okay", my mom said and Fin just nods his head, maybe he was hungry,

Suddenly her mom's gaze fell on Fin's lips,

"Oh my god Fin, what happened to your lip dear, how did you get hurt", her mom asked in a worried tone,

But Fin just smiled casually as nothing happened,

"It is nothing serious aunt, just do not worry, I just slipped somewhere", said Fin, but it was just a terrible lie, how could someone has an injury on his lips by slip, nonsense,

But her mom smiled and look towards Anna, she was sitting just like a statue, not even smiling,

"Crystal, you still did not tell me about this pretty girl", her mom asked and Crystal gulped in fear,

"Mom, first you have to promise me that you will just hear me out calmly, and just do not panic at all, please mom", said Crystal and the tension lines came on Mrs. Patterson's forehead,

"Is everything okay Crystal, I mean you are sacring me now", said her mom, and she just nods,

"Mom, I am fine and everything is okay, but I am going to ask something too far, I just do not know that I have a right or not, but please mom, just try to understand the situation", said Crystal and her mom just nod,

"Anna, will you please go out with Fin for some time, I need to talk alone with my mom", said Crystal, and Anna just nod her head, she was looking so upset,

Fin did not want to go out, but he respects Crystal and her decision, so without any argument, he holds Anna's hand and went out into the gallery,

Crystal's mom, looked at Anna, her dress was looking like a mess, even she was looking like a complete mess, but she ignored her, and looked towards Crystal,

When Crystal was alone with her mom, she sat on the sofa,

Crystal's mom was looking at her worried face, and how nervous she was, after so many months she is opening with her, and the first time she is gonna ask something from her, she is willing to do everything for her daughter,

"Crystal, come on baby, I am your mom, you do not need to nervous around me, you can tell me anything, dear", her mom said, and Crystal just nods,

"Mom, the girl who is out with me, mom, she, she is, she is an orphan, and she was about to get raped mom, and when I saw her mom, she was crying, she was crying so badly mom, and they wanted to sell her mom, they were so bad, so I took her here with me mom, she has no one in this world", said crystal and the tears were rolling down from her cheeks as she was sobbing so hard,

"Crystal, just relax baby, just do not cry, okay, I am here, just stop crying okay", her mom said and wiped her face,

"Mom, I bring her with me with a lot of hopes, she has no one mom, she is too innocent for this world, trust me, mom, please can we keep her with us", said Crystal and her mom just become quiet all sudden,

"Mom, you see her right, she is really innocent mom, and if we did not keep her with us, that bastards will approach her again, and they will hurt her mom", said Crystal, and her mom hugged her,

"You know Crystal, I yearned years for a child, but I could never get a one, and then God sends you in my life, you were a light of hope for us, we were dying to hear the word mom and dad from your mouth, and today when you call me mom, seems like my life has no other motive now, I love you so much Crystal, and that almighty gave us more than enough, and when he is giving us double happiness, then I am ready to accept his will dear, she could stay with us, do not worry okay, from now on she is the member of our family", her mom said, with a happy face,

Crystal could not believe in her ears, her mom accepted Anna,  she is so damn happy,

Crystal was so happy, she hugged her mom so tightly and her mom caressed  her hair,

"Go and call them inside, I am making lunch, and then we will have it together, and one more thing, get Anna in your room and gave her your clothes, so she can take a shower", her  mom said and Crystal nods happily,

It was literally like a dream for her, she has a sister now, a pretty one,

She ran towards the gallery and saw Anna was crying on Fin's shoulder, she was looking so dull, seems like she was crying since she came out,

"Anna", Crystal called her and she turned her head, first Crystal made a serious face so she could surprise Anna later, and Anna thought that her mom deny,

"It is okay Crystal, I know it will gonna happen anytime soon, I was about to leave with Fin", said Anna as tears rolled down from her cheeks to her neck,

And Crystal thought her serious face made her even cry more,

"You do not need to go anywhere from now on, because this is your house from now", said Crystal and Anna could not believe what she heard,

"You are not joking, are you", asked Anna and Crystal shook her head, and Anna jumped in happiness,

"Oh my God, Crystal, you are an angel for me", said Anna and sat down on her knee,

Anna started crying between her palms and Crystal quickly went near her and sat down near her,

"Hey, do not cry like that Anna, you are my sister from now on, and I just can not stand that my sister is crying like this", said Crystal in such a scolding tone, that made Anna chuckles a little,

Crystal wiped her face and caressed her head,

"Come, get up", said Crystal and made her stand up on her feet, and Anna get up, with a small smile, Anna was as pure soul as Crystal,

"That is like my good sister", said Crystal, and Anna hugged her so tight, which made Crystal smiled a little more,

"Go upstairs, on the left side there is my room, take a shower and wear whatever you like from the Almira, okay, then come down for lunch", said Crystal and Anna just nods, but she was still standing here,

"Go Anna, do not worry of anything, that  room is also yours from now on", said Crystal and Anna smiled and went upstairs,

Fin was can not help or do anything except stare at her, she was perfect but too innocent for this cruel world,

"Are you okay", Crystal asked Fin and he just nods his head, but the sadness was clearly visible in his eyes, and Crystal was also feeling so bad for him, Crystal put her hand on his shoulder,

And he turned his head,

"I am sorry, were you hurt by my behaviour back then", asked Crystal and Fin shook his head,

"No Crystal, I was not hurt, in fact, you were so cute, and you did nothing wrong to hurt me, yes I felt a little bad because no one dares to ignore me, but you did", said Fin making her laugh,

She looks so pretty when she laughs like this, her rare laugh, she quickly stopped when found him staring,

"Why do not you smile often", Fin asked with curiosity, and the shadow of sadness spread on her pretty face,

"Because the reasons had left me a long time ago", said Crystal, Fin wanted to ask what does she mean but her mom called them for lunch,

"Let us go, mom is calling for lunch", said Crystal and left from there,

She does not want to reopen the book which she wants to burn, and Fin is still like strange for her, no matters how close he is to her mother,

Her mom arranged the table for the lunch, and Fin also came inside the living room, Crystal was helping her mom, and when everything was done, they all were waiting for Anna to come,

"Why she is not coming dear, is she fine", her mom said and the tension line appeared on Crystal's face,

"Okay, I am going to get her mom", said Crystal and about to walk out, but Anna came downstairs, she was wearing a knee-length frock of Crystal, which Crystal never wore before, Anna did not apply anything on her face, and the water was dripping from her wet hair,

She was looking like a complete angel, so pure and pretty, Crystal's mom's face got wide as she smiled so wide, the happiness is clearly visible in her eyes,

Anna's legs were trembling as she was afraid of Mrs Patterson's reaction, but her reaction was priceless, Anna's leg got bumped in the table, as she was walking slowly without even watching down,

She was about to fell but her mom saved her, and pulled her into a warm hug,

"Oh dear, how are you", her mom asked, it is been long when Anna felt the warmness of a motherly hug, the tears rolled down from her eyes,

But these tears are  the tears of happiness, she has a family now, she has a sister and a mother, what else she could ask for,

"I am good ma'am", said Anna with her trembling voice,

"Ma'am, no sweetheart, call me mom from now okay, now come and sit with us", said her mom and she nods,

Fin wanted to ask a lot of questions which are making him curious, curious to know more about Crystal, about her life, about her past, everything about her,

Crystal's mom served the food to everyone, and they started eating, no one brings up the matter of Anna again, nor anyone asked anything about her past,

She is looking so happy now, and thank god she is not quite like Crystal was, her mom thought, but then she smiled, she has two beautiful daughters now, her family is complete now,

"Mom, the food is yummy I swear", said Anna, seems like she was starving for serve days, she was looking dull when she showed up, but now she is looking so pretty, milk-white skin with beautiful brown eyes, her mother would have been so pretty just like her, her mom was thinking but smiled when Anna complimented her,

"Okay aunt, thank you so much for the food, I think I should leave first", said Fin as lunch get over, 

"Fin, promise that you will visit me often, I am also like your mother right, so never consider yourself alone okay dear", my mom said and Fin nods,

"Yes, aunt, now when I know that Crystal lives here, then I have to come here often", said Fin, and when the realization hit Crystal she blushed a little,

Oh my god, First time Fin saw her blushing, and by god, she looks so damn pretty while blushing,

"Crystal, go see him off", her mom said and she nods and went out with him,

"You looks so cute while blush, I think I should give you more reason to blush huh,", said Fin and Crystal smiled shyly,

"Bye, I will see you tomorrow in the college, okay", said Fin and headed towards his car, Crystal waved her hand and went inside the house,

Crystal ran inside, and her mom was noticing her little changing moments, and she is so happy for her,

"Thank god, at least she started smiling, I think I need to talk to Fin soon", her mother said to herself and went into the kitchen,

"Hey, are you feeling good", Crystal asked Anna and she nods, she was sitting on her bed,

And Crystal went near her and sat beside her,

"Crystal", said Anna, and Crystal instantly replied,

"Yes say what happened",

"I do not know how I will ever able to thank you enough to make my life like this", said Anna as new tears built up in her beautiful eyes,

"Hey, shhh, my baby, you were destined to be here, that is why you are here, and I am very sure dad will be so happy to see you", said Crystal, and Anna hugged her,

"Thank you so much, Crystal, I love you so much", said Anna while hugging her,

"I love you too baby, now you will never cry okay", said Crystal like a big sister, and Anna nods like a good girl,

"Okay so now tell me that what you do, I mean what you used to do in the orphanage", asked Crystal and Anna become silent,

"Hey, what happened, just tell me", Crystal asked again and Anna wiped her face,

"I used to do all the work, like washing dishes and making breakfast, cleaning, etc", said Anna with a sad face,

"What, but why, in Newyork, all orphanages are providing education to the children but why you were doing all that work", Crystal asked,

"Yes, but they did not allow me to study, they only provide a little education and that is only for small kids, and the girls like me have to do all the work, and they only give us a little food", said Anna and Crystal's heart clenched in pain,

"Then why you never complained about it to anyone sweety, what they are doing is wrong, why you were doing all that work, you have all the rights to complain", Crystal said, but Anna become sad,

"I know, but they were providing me with a shelter at least, or elsewhere where would have I go", she replied and Crystal felt so bad for her, she wished that she could have saved her long ago, but then she realize that she was not in the condition to help,

She was also in the same situation somehow, her heart again started feeling heavy as she thought about her past,

"Hey, what happened, are you crying for me, please do not cry for me, I am also trying not to cry over these things, you should also stop crying over the past things", said little Anna and Crystal kissed her forehead,

"I promise I will not cry now, now smile", I said and Anna smiled,

"Now go and have some rest, you must be tired", said Crystal and Anna nods and went to the bed,

Crystal's Point Of View,

Life was never easy for me, I do not know what I did wrong to deserve a life like I used to have,

But seems like I also did some good deeds, that is why today I am here, mom and dad saved me, they dragged me from the darkness into a light,

What else I could ask from God, still sometimes I do not believe that I am here, and when I see the love and affection in my mom and dad's eyes, I consider myself lucky to have parents like them,

But then I still feel that why they could not find me a little early so that I would have been saved from all those painful things,

But I feel relaxed a little because if mom and dad would not have saved me, I would have been into a dark basement, with a lot of bruises on my body, and bleeding head, or maybe something worse than all these,

"Crystal, come down sweety, I need to talk to you", I heard my mom yelled from downstairs,

"Yes mom, coming in just two minutes", I said and looked myself into the mirror, my eyes were looking red, and my mom is just too smart, she knows me so well,

she will get to know that I was crying again and then she will be sad, and I do not want to make her sad, she is already doing a lot for me, so I also should be a good daughter for her,

I washed my face with cold water, it feels good, and after wiping my face I applied some cream and kajal in my eyes, so my mom would not know that I was crying,

After I was done I made my way towards mom,

"Yes mom, you called me", I said with a smile and she smiled as she saw me,

"Crystal", she said and placed a kiss on my forehead, well, she usually does that, but it was a little different today,

"Crystal, maybe I am not your biological mother, but still I could sense your condition sweety, so next time just do not try to hide anything from me, okay", she said and caressed my hair,

"Mom, I was just", I opened my mouth to explain myself, but she put a finger on it making my mouth shut,

"Shh, you do not need to explain anything honey, I know everything", she said and I smiled, I know she knows everything, but still there are a lot of things she does not know, and I do not want her to know, because I just do not want to see sympathy in her eyes for me instead of love,

"Well, I was saying that why do not we all go shopping since you came here you never asked me to go shopping, how about we go and shop for a lot of new dresses for you", she said and I shook my head,

"No mom, I do not want anything, I mean, I just do not want new dressed, I already have a lot of dresses, and that is true that I never asked you for shopping because you and dad did that for me, my cupboard is already full with new dresses, and I do not need new dresses", I protest,

I am a girl still I am not crazy about shopping, even I do not like to go to shopping, it makes me crazy, I do not who are those girls who like to spend hours shopping,

"But sweety, I thought you would love it", my mom said with a sad face and I cupped her face,

"Mom, do not be sad please, if you want we could go somewhere else, but first I need to know dad's decision about Anna, I want him to meet her first, I am scared mom, what if dad does not like her, she has no place to go mom", I said with a sad face and she cupped my face,

"hey, do not worry, you just do not need to care about it, I will talk to your dad, and I think your dad will also love her as I did, she is so sweet and decent, I am sure your dad will not say no, so just relax and leave it on me, okay", my mom said and I smiled,

"Promise me, mom, promise if dad did not like her or have any objections, then you will support me", I said as I put my hand in front of her, and she gently put her hand on mine,

"I promise sweety, I will support you no matter what, you know honey, your dad and I yearned for a child for years, and now when God is giving us two beautiful daughters, then why we would not accept honey, I am sure he would love to have Anna too as he does to you", my mom said and a tear of happiness rolled down to my cheek,

"Now be a good girl, and stop crying over the things that passed, we should never remember the memories that give us tears, it is better if you forget them and accept your new and happy life", my mom said and I nod with a smile,
