The next morning I awoke feeling extremely warm for some reason. After I finally focused I realized why. I was in Caleb's arms my cheek against his bare chest. I started to struggle why was I in his arms? when had he gotten here? I wasn't getting anywhere. but that didn't stop me from trying. I pushed and shoved at Caleb's chest causing him to wake up and grab my wrists. "Avery calm down." he demanded. this however had the opposite effect on me and made me struggle even more. eventually though I grew tired and started panting he gently let go of my wrists and looked into my eyes.

"what's the matter?" he asked. I looked up scared "when did you get here? why am I sleeping with you? aren't you going to reject me anyways? I can't be here!!" he frowned at that "I'd never do that why would you even think that? you are my mate the one I'm destined to be with for the rest of my life. I could never give you up. that's why I'm here with you. why would you think I'd leave you?" I looked down." I don't know maybe because I'm a rouge I'm not worth it. im not worth your time." I felt tears form in my eyes. "everyone told me that I'd never get a mate that I didn't deserve one, and that I was worthless. sometimes they hit and cut me while they did it to make me remember it later."

he grabbed my chin gently making me look at him. "you are worth it. your worth everything to me. your my life now the sole purpose of my being. don't ever feel like you aren't. and I can tell you will be a great Luna. Maya already adores you too she has been bugging me about taking you out all morning. so your loved here okay? your my mate and I love you." he said while wiping away my tears. I smiled slightly at this. I had totally forgot that me and Maya were hanging out today. it'll be nice to have a girl to talk to. I turned to Caleb "can me and Maya go for a run? I've been wanting to let my wolf out for awhile." he smiled "okay but be careful and stay with Maya at all times I don't want you hurt or lost." I nodded.

a few minutes later me and Maya were running around the woods chasing each other. I tackled her and we played around. it was nice to feel my paws on the ground and the wind in my fur. after awhile though we heard a howl. it seemed to mean something to Maya as she told me to run back to the pack house QUICK. I took off like a dart Maya on my flank. we reached the pack house and shifted back Caleb ran over frantically searching every inch of me making sure I was alright while I looked at him confused.

"your old pack found out your here and came to get you. I told them you are my mate and you aren't going anywhere. the alphas son is here to have a meeting with me and requested your presence. I told him you weren't ready and he attacked some of his men went looking for you. I needed to make sure your okay." I looked at him and nodded and just then I heard a nasty voice one I knew all too well one I have always feared hearing, Jason. my ex best friend and son of the Alpha and one of the people who helped make my life hell.

"hello b***h I see your pretty cozy with your newest man you s**t. I should have known you'd turn into a w***e even when we were little. what with your little crush on me and everything." I heard a growl sound from behind me from Maya followed by a more vicious one from Caleb "w-what do you want Jason?" I asked. it'd been long ago when I'd had feelings for him. back before my life was hell and he made it so.

"isn't it obvious? im here to bring you back." he smirked."no! you can't I cut ties with all of you! I won't leave my mate I won't!" I said glaring. "oh but you don't have a choice. your mate is already giving you up. as for leaving the pack we will forgive your little episode if you come back with us now silently and calmly." he states. "Caleb would never do that and I'm not coming back with you" I say looking to Caleb to see if this is true.

he looks between me and Jason before looking at me sadly. he is giving me up I knew i shouldn't have trusted him. it was all a trap a stupid trap to get me to trust him so he could send me back."avery please its not like that. I'm would never give you up please trust me on this." if this is true why'd he look so guilty. "I promised I would protect you and I failed they found you and now they want to take you from me." he says with the same pained expression as before.

I look at Jason with a growl he's trying to make me doubt my mate that was a major mistake nobody tries to take me from my mate. he looks at me surprised "seems someone has forgotten her place. doesn't matter though we will take care of that when we get home." he says lunging at me before getting knocked away from me by Caleb who had shifted when he lunged. however I was a little closer than I ought to have been when they started fighting in wolf form and got knocked over with Jason's claws tearing down my left calf making me fall and hit my head on a rock. black spots glittered my vision, and I felt dizzy before I felt myself start to lose consciousness and it all went black.
