Avery POV

I have no idea how everything happened or when I got moved but when I woke up I was in a hospital bed with Maya and Caleb sitting next to me on chairs. my calf felt like it was on fire and I let out a small scream. causing my head to pound and I groaned. Caleb was up by my side in seconds while Maya went to fetch a doctor.

"Avery baby are you okay?" I shake my head and whimper. "you shouldn't have been that close love oh God. there was so much blood I couldn't focus on anything but you once I realized you were hurt. they got away this time I sent my beta after them but he failed to track their scent.but don't worry we will catch them attacking a Luna is punishable by death. there will be hell to pay I promise baby."

just then the doctor walks in "hello Luna I'm Dr. Andrews. your X-rays show nothing vital was hit but it will take a few months for your leg to heal completely you should avoid training and running or walking for long periods of time during this time. you have a concussion but that should be gone in a day or two while your wolf heals you. you may have headaches and dizziness but that should clear up over time." he informed me. "are you in pain Luna?" he questioned. "my head is pounding and my leg hurts like hell." I complain.

the doctor nods at this writing in my chart I assume. "we'll prescribe you meds for the headaches and the pain in your leg but I must stress for you to stay off your feet as much as you can." he says looking serious. I nod as Caleb responded " yes of course thank you doctor I'll keep an eye on her." I roll my eyes at this. "oh and keep an eye out for infection In the leg and if it bothers you come in" he says exiting the room to get my paperwork and meds.

I look over at Maya who seems to be spaced out trying to get her attention. "huh? oh my bad what's up?" she snaps out of it. " what's going on Maya? you seem off" I ask looking at her quizzically. "nothing don't worry av." I give her my best luna look. and she sighed "I found my mate." my eyes widen as well as Caleb's "who is it?" we ask in union. "it was one of Jason's men. he tried to restrain me from saving you from Jason. then realized he was my mate." she says looking tearful.

where was he now? did he reject her? I'll kick his a*s if he hurt her! "but where is he may?" Caleb questions. "he left with Jason he looked kinda torn but followed him. he'll probably be back. I don't want to leave the pack or reject my mate but he tried to help Jason hurt the Luna." she looks fearful. "well I don't know what you'll decide to do but I'm not mad and I won't allow Caleb to hurt him either. if you want to leave with him you can or he can join our pack and be our guard if you'd like." I told her. Caleb looked upset that he wasn't allowed to tear him apart but what I said goes.

"thanks Avery I appreciate it." she looks slightly better but still worried. I wonder how this is all going to go. all I know is I'm taking a trip back in hell because Jason and his pack can't let me be happy for one f*****g day.

Maya POV

after we left the hospital Avery and Caleb went to bed I sat in my wolf form along the river a few minutes from the pack house. I was just thinking over everything and what I was going to do when I hear a twig snap a few feet away. I stand and growl in the direction it came from before out steps my one and only mate. I freeze and tense when I see him. he's in human form and stares at me and I watch him closely waiting to see if this is an attack or an attempt to get the Luna again. I soon realized it was only him after a few minutes of waiting.

"can you shift back I want to talk to you?" he asks me. I shift and pull on clothes uneasy under his gaze. "im sorry about how everything went down today. I didn't know we were gonna hurt the luna I was told we were here to discuss trade between our packs in a meeting, please you have to believe me" he pleads with me. I watch his eyes and know he's telling the truth I nod. "thank you." he smiles and it gorgeous lighting up his entire face id do anything to see that smile. "anyway he gave the order for me to hold onto you but then I realized you were my mate. I could never hurt you let alone restrain you. I freaked out after he hurt the Luna no way would you accept me after that." he said with his head down.

I walked forward a bit but stopped short as he continued. " but I had to make sure you were okay and the Luna was unharmed I know she's a friend of yours and anyone important to you is important to me. So I followed you and I heard what she said about forgiving me not that I deserve it. and allowing me to be your guards should I join the pack. if you'll allow me to I'd love to prove my love and loyalty to you I've already left my pack and severed all ties with them. id like to join your pack." he states looking at me. I feel my eyes go wide he left his pack for me? I look at him thinking everything he said over and nod. "you mean you'll give me a chance? you'll accept me?" I look at him my mate and smile "of course" was my simple reply.

I watched as his face lit up and he ran towards me spinning me around and kissing me. "hey! I don't even know your name yet!" I shout laughing. he smiles looking down at me since he's so tall "I'm Luca." he states smiling and kissing the tip of my nose. I giggle at his actions. "and I heard the Luna call you Maya its gorgeous fitting for such a pretty girl but I think I'll stick to little love." he says with a chuckle I glare but try out his name coming out of my mouth. "Luca.....I love it! I've always wanted my mate since I was little. Come on we have to introduce you to Avery and Caleb!" I shout. he laughs while I drag him behind me. I finally have my mate and I couldn't be happier. I can already tell Avery will love him I dont know about Caleb though. He does want me to be happy so maybe it'll be okay.
