Chapter 41

CHAPTER FORTY-ONE

“you never changed your clothes.” Aza answered, “whatever mind controlling spell you were under was so powerful, even the strongest of minds won’t be able to resist it” he ended. “You are really lucky we came when we did” Elias added.

“How did you guys find me?” Rowland asked, “through your smell off course. Your natural scent if you may call it that.” Elias replied smiling. “My scent? Are you guys dogs now?” he asked and this made Aza and Elias laugh. “We got our powers back” they both chorused.

“What!” exclaimed Rowland. He was excited yet his curious mind wanted to asked questions on why it was grated to them after it was taken. Elias who knew the question which was playing in his heart, answered it by saying, “we never knew why these powers were given to us but all we know is that it came just as you were about to get into trouble”.

Aza added, “You have to be careful Rowland and drop your research on the soul mystery”. Rowland nodded his head in agreement before uttering these words, “I will drop it all”. This statement brought smiles on Elias face that he hugged Rowland whispering into his ears, “thank you”.

Life seemed normal, Elias and Rowland worked at the company while the couple, Aza and Dinia still ran there food business. They used their powers to help mankind, saving lives from accidents and robbery, hiding their faces and zooming past cameras undetected.

Soon TV presenters, journalists and TV shows picked up the events that were happening in the city. Crime rates began to reduce and questions filled every human’s mind, “who are these?”. “instead of letting these powers waste or waiting for a bad thing to commence, why don’t we use it for the benefit of the human race” Elias once said, in a close meeting with Aza and Dinia.

They both agreed to the idea and started there superhero adventures, only with the condition of not to be known or caught by any camera at anywhere. The only human who knew about the mysterious people who helped and saved people and he would smile each time he heard of something heroic on the news.

“You know what you guys are doing is risky” Rowland once said to the three superpower full humans. “Yes we know but we have to make use of it” Aza replied referring to their powers. “And I am glad you all are using it to serve the community” Rowland said.

One this day, Rowland walked home holding a briefcase, containing work documents he would need to continue working at home when he ran into Raphael. “Oh my God Raphael!” he couldn’ believe who he saw, standing in front of him, all smiles. The excitement he felt made him hug the angel so tight, making him giggle.

“Seems like you really missed me so much” Raphael said, “off course I did and wait till the others see you. You would get more hugs” Rowland replied. Raphael smiled and said, “you made me come back again, I checked in your house but couldn’t meet you there. So I came out to search for you”, “you could have waited for me, what if you didn’t find me, what would you have done?” Rowland asked, and with a giggle the angel replied, “I’ll find you”.

“It’s been two months, 3 weeks and 4 days I last came to see you” Raphael said as he was sitting. They were now in Rowland’s house and the angel had a cup of coffee in his hand, “and guess what I miss so much” he continued, “your coffee”. Rowland blushed as he had never gotten a complement on his coffee making abilities. “Thank you so much” he replied smiling so much.

“When last did you visit earth?” Rowland asked, “I think three days ago but this time I was in Africa. Needed to deliver a message to a friend” the angel replied. “So what brings you to me?” Rowland asked again. “You have forgotten? Remember you prayed and asked for some answers to the soul mystery?” Raphael reminded him. “Oh! That’s true but that was 3 weeks ago. I have even given up on the quest” Rowland said.

“I felt maybe God didn’t want to answer it, and Elias advised me to let it go because I got into trouble which I know you already know” Rowland explained. “I know Rowland but that prayer was answered and that is why I am here.” The angel paused and sipped the coffee before continuing, “I am here to give you answers”

“Don’t you think Elias and the rest would need to here what you have to say?” Rowland suggested, “Off course I wasn’t going to tell you alone because the matter concerns them too” Raphael replied. Rowland nodded his head in affirmation before proceeding to ask a question that has been bothering him and which he needed an answer for. 

So he cleared his throat before asking, “ehm, Raphael I would like to ask a question. It has been on my mind for a long time now and I would need clarification from you”, “okay go ahead” was the reply he got. “Alright, thank you. My question goes like this, why are the powers of Elias, Aza and Dinia back? Because it just came back suddenly and it was helpful in rescuing me”.

“The danger you faced was not the real danger, even if the powers came just to save you from this. There is an extreme danger and the powers are there to help them overcome” the angel replied calmly. “Danger?” Rowland repeated, looking scared, “Elias was right then, when he said he is scared and still confused on why his powers returned. It could be to prevent a great danger”.

“Elias is correct and that is the second reason I am here. To inform you all on this lurking danger an how to be overcomers” Raphael replied, “Tonight, we will go over to Elias’ house, there I will explain everything in detail” he concluded dropping the empty cup on a table close to him. 

“Danger lurking around?” Rowland thought, “when I thought all these was over, now what next?” he asked himself.
