CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO

“I can’t believe I didn’t figure what she was up to soon enough” Dinia said after she was done eating. “None of us did” Aza replied, “do you know what she said to me before she attacked me?” Dinia asked. “No baby, you can tell me” Aza replied, “she said I know too much about her and she has to remove me from the way” Dinia answered.

“She knows none of you have an idea of her operations except I “ Dinia continued, “so she doesn’t want any information about her from you, she thinks you are the reason we know her moves” Aza said, “Yes but I’m glad she didn’t succeed” Dinia replied smiling.

“She doesn’t know you are not the only one that’s knows about her operations” Aza said, “That’s true I forgot, Rowland knows too, thanks to books we read” Dinia said.

“Yes, Rowland, wait!! Rowland!!” Aza exclaimed as he picked his phone and called Elias, “Elias, Rowland is the next target, you need to go over to him now and protect him” Aza pointed out.

“Do not worry Aza, Rowland will be safe, I talked to him last night” Elias said confidently. Aza wasn’t satisfied with the answer he got from Elias, he then said, “Elias you need to check on Rowland”. “I will” Elias replied ending the call before zooming off.

By this time Rowland had checked out of the motel and was at the bus stop waity for a bus going to his city. Suddenly, a portal opened in front of him and he could see it. “Oh No!” he exclaimed hurriedly walking out of where he was, “Lilith is close by” he said to himself.

Few feet away from the opened portal, he picked his phone and dialed Elias’ number “Lilith is after me, right now a portal just opened before me and I’m scared” he said, “I’m coming, text me your location and I’ll be right there. Also leave that area and go far away”. “I’ll do just that” Rowland replied ending the call.

Turning to face the portal, his eyes met Lilith who stood in front of him, with her lips curved, “Hello Rowland, let me formally introduce myself even though you already know so much about me, more than you should know. I’m Lilith” she said.

“What do you want from me?” Rowland asked as his voice began shaking, “I just want to talk” Lilith replied. “I do not want to talk to you, you’re the last person I want to have a conversation with” Rowland said as he tried turning around and leaving.

“Oh no you don’t” Lilith said anger could be heard in her voice, “no one turns their backs on me” she said. “I’m sorry but I don’t want to have any conversation with you because I know it will not end up well” Rowland explained. “I don’t take no for an answer” Lilith said taking hold of Rowland’s neck collar, “we are going to talk somewhere better”, she said dragging Rowland into the portal with her.

By the time Elias got to the bus stop, Rowland was gone. His bag was on the chair where he sat. “Oh no, I hope Lilith hasn’t taken you” he wished dialing Rowland’s Phone but the network provider kept on saying it wasn’t reachable.

“This is bad, I wish I came earlier” he lamented not having any idea where to begin searching. “I hate portals” he swore picking Rowland’s bag and racing around the city.

In an empty room, Rowland sat on a chair while Lilith walked around the room as they talked, “tell me everything you know about me and how did you manage to know so much of this information” she requested. Rowland replied, “I read books and listen to audio about the supernatural. They talk about you once in a while and it is a very controversial topic to be brought in the public.” Dinia replied.

“So you do not know except you read books?” Lilith asked, “and after that nothing else?”, “Yes, it is what I learnt through the books. How the author’s get to know about you is what I can’t disclose because I do not know” Rowland replied

“Thank you for this information, I know what to do” she said still pacing around the room, “may I ask what you will do?” Rowland asked scared. “I will destroy every book in the world, every book that talks about the supernatural I will burn” she answered him.

Hearing this statement, Rowland laughed hard till tears dropped from his eyes, “you can’t possible burn every book about supernaturals in the world.” “Do not underestimate me Rowland” Lilith replied. “I can do that in 5 days and no one will ever know. Those author’s will I destroy so no human can know about me like you do” Dinia replied.

Rowland looked at Lilith this time with sadness because she did not get what he said by he cannot destroy all the books on supernatural. “There are a a lot of books which may not centre on you or any supernatural but connotes bit in a sense” Rowland tried to explain.

“There is nothing speed and powers such as the one I have cannot do” aza Said. “I will not kill you at least not now” Lilith replied. This brought mixes feelings into their eyes. “I really don’t know if I am happy or sad. She needs to be stopped before someone else gets hurt” Rowland said to himself.

“So let me go” Rowland said after some minutes of silence, “No, I need Elias to.come over, let me finish him up” Lilith said confidently. “please let me go, I am pleading with you” Rowland pleaded getting to his knees.

“Text Elias your address and tell him not to call you except you want to die. He should come alone and visit no one on the way if only he wants to see you alive” Lilith said as she walked slowly to him and standing by his side to watch him send the text.
