CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE Dinia was admitted into the emergency room immediately they got there for immediate attention. Aza sat at the reception in tears and praying for Dinia. “I can’t loose you. We promised each other” he mouthed. Elias walked around the room, “it is all my fault, I was blind to her tricks” he said Aza who didn’t reply him as tears flowed freely from his eyes. “She will pay deeply for this” Elias vowed leaving the reception. Outside of the hospital, he picked his phone and called Rowland and on the third ring he picked, “Rowland please be careful” Elias began, “what is the matter Elias?” Rowland asked, “and why calling me when you can just knock on my room door”. “Dinia was attacked” Elias said. This statement made Rowland who was lying down on the bed sit up, “what do you mean? How?” he asked. “Rowland, I am not close to you right now. Dinia is in the hospital, Aza and I are there now” Elias answered. “Wait, you are back home? But you said you will be close by” Rowland said feeling worried. “Look Row, Lilith’s plan is already in progress, she is taking us one by one and she stared with Dinia. She made me draw Aza out to watch over Rebecca before attacking Dinia who was alone in the shop” Elias explained. “Oh my God!” Rowland exclaimed, putting his hand over his mouth. “So what is the plan now? What do you intend to do?” Rowland asked, “I’m scared she would attack you next since I and Aza are here. You have to stay in doors and never open the door for anyone” Elias advised. “Isn’t she a spirit?” Rowland asked knowing fully well that doors and walls do not hinder a spirit. “Lilith was human before she fell. When visiting earth she is human, so the laws of nature applies to her. She won’t be able to get in except you let her and she could be anybody” Elias advised. “Okay, noted” Rowland replied, standing up and going to the window to peer outside, “if something goes wrong, call me” Elias added before ending the call. Rowland went back to his bed and thought about what Elias said, “I’m not safe here and so is my daughter”, “I have to call her mom now” he added and dialed her number. Rebecca’s mom who was sleeping with her husband beside her got woken by her phone ringing, “who could be that?” she said and picked the phone from the side table where she dropped it. On seeing the caller, she sighed and ended the call. Her phone rang again and she did the same as the first. Rowland became worried, he wished he never took Rebecca to her in the first place, “Now I do not know what is going on there” he said to himself. “Please protect my daughter” he prayed before dialing Rebecca’s mother’s line which this time was switched off. Just then a knock was heard at his door, this sent shivers down the spine of Rowland. His knees quacked and his heart beat raced twice as fast on each knock he heard. He remembered Elias’ words, “never open the door for anyone”. The knockings intensified but he kept mute, trying not to make a sound. “When will all these be over?” he asked himself as he laid on the bed with eyes closed, wishing for the sound coming from the door to stop. The horn of a car woke Rowland up as he noticed he had slept while he wished for quietness. He smiled, “now it is time to get out of here” he said to himself, getting up from the bed. Meanwhile in the hospital, Aza and Elias who did not sleep through out the night sat at the reception when the doctor came to meet them. “We are lucky Mr. Aza” the doctor began, “we didn’t loose her. If she was brought few minutes later, we would have not been able to save her but she is fine now and in a stable state”. “Can I see her?” Aza requested standing up, “Not yet Mr. Aza, you have to let her rest and I will suggest you get her something light to eat” the doctor said. “I’ll do that” Elias replied giving a look at Aza which meant, “don’t worry, look after her, I’ll get it for you”. Aza understanding that look, nodded his head affirmatively before turning to the doctor. “Thank you for everything doctor” he said giving vtue doctor a handshake, “it is my duty” the man on white coat replied before leaving for his office. Elias who was still there when the doctor left told Aza, “sticking together is what we need. Dinia was lucky and we do not have to keep depending on luck. We have to be more careful”. Aza nodded his head and Elias continued, “I’ll get the light meal, please do not be sad or worried, Dinia is fine and we will make sure Lilith pays” he said comforting his friend. Few hours later, Aza was with Dinia in the hospital room. She laid on the bed with a drip fastened to her hand. Bandages wrapped her side and bruises was found on her face. “Thank you for coming through for me” Dinia said, “you don’t have to thank me baby. It was all my fault, I left you” Aza lamented. “It is not your fault Aza” Dinia replied, “We didn’t know, none of us knew the plan had already began to play out. So please stop blaming yourself. I didn’t die and I am happy for it. You too should be” she said rubbing his hand gently. Aza smiled and replied her, “I promise I won’t leave you again” and Dinia smiled. “I think I am hungry” she added. “Elias got food for you while you were asleep” Aza said as he passed a bag to her that contained the food, “here it is” he said. “Wait, I’ll feed you” Aza added smiling as he unwrapped the food.
