Samantha's POV
I couldn't believe Ric had made me sign my signature just so I could be his number two on the journey to Nightveil. I swear I wasn't prepared mentally and most especially emotionally. How long would the journey be? It worried me, but I couldn't bring myself to ask Ric that question. I was scared of knowing.
I already hated the way my heart reacted to him every time we were close, and now I was put in this situation with him. Adam made things worse by refusing to go in my stead when I pleaded with him. He said it was an Alpha's command and he couldn't interfere.
I was disappointed, but I already ran out of time to convince anyone of anything.
