Samantha's POV
Adams had invited me over for dinner with Adrian before Alaric and I left for Nightveil tomorrow. I was also to leave Adrian with him during my time away, so it worked well sleeping over at his place that night.
Adams had prepared dinner, and I enjoyed helping while Adrian hovered for bites of every meal we prepared. Adams was like a grandpa, and I loved their relationship, despite the time and place limit all through the years.
We were done making the meal and had started setting the foods at the table when a knock came at the door. I looked at Adams, surprised that someone was knocking.
