CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN: MISSING II

1611 Words
Jarek was roaming about the City of Askarvard. Everywhere looked new, he couldn't remember anything. He was feeling dizzy, but wanted to get to the pizza shop Karen said earlier. He asked several people about the shop, and they all gave different directions. It was an online shop, so most people order through the app. He walked aimlessly, making sure he avoids Karen and Dylan. "There must be somewhere she always prepares what she was selling." He thought. Three minutes ago, Alde had bought yoghurt from the nearby shop very close to Eminent Unisex Salon - He had told those in the shop about his missing son. Shortly afterwards, Jarek saw his face on a poster pasted on the wall; he moved closer towards the poster on the wall - He saw himself and the bold heading written in red. "MISSING!" and the next words followed. "This is my son, he has been missing, please if found, call this number." Luckily for Jarek, he found someone to give him a pen and paper, but before that, the person who gave him the pen and paper stared at him as if he looked familiar. Jarek wrote down the number, returned the pen, thanked him, and left for nowhere in mind. But, before he could move an inch, a black van packed beside him, some men carried him inside the van, he struggled with them, but he was no match for them, and they zoomed off as Jarek shouted with his mouth closed. "Mmmmmmmm!!! Mmmm!!." A phone beeped, "We got him." One of the men in black said to the phone. "Alright, bring him over." Few minutes later, the men barged in through a door, and laid Jarek at the feet of Boaz. Boaz stared at Jarek. "Hey Boy." Jarek knew that voice, but he couldn't process where and when. Jarek looked up to Boaz, smiling. "I just want to go home." Jarek said. "This is your home." Boaz replied. Jarek paused, he was sweating and profusely oversensitive to everything around him. "My home?" He asked, looking around. "Why then did you have to take me with force?" Jarek added. Boaz laughed. "Because you will be reluctant to come. What happened yesterday was a heartbreaking scene for all of us. And I don't want to lose you again." "Mm." Jarek sighed. "What's your phone number?" Jarek asked. "My phone number?" Boaz said. "Yes." "+4479056483190." Jarek had memorised the number he had seen on the wall before he was kidn*pped. "I need to play along if I want to get out." Jarek thought to himself. "Why do you ask?" Boaz asked. "Was just asking. In case of any emergency." Jarek said. "Where is my room?" He asked, but everybody didn't know what to say. "This is my home remember? I must have a bed and a room." Jarek added. "Yes, you do." Boaz said, and instructed the guards to take Jarek to one of the rooms. Dylan rushed inside Karen's house. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Jarek is missing." Karen replied. "How come?" "I don't know." She replied, staring at her subordinates and Cassy. "So, what's the plan?" "We have traced him, and the last place we traced him to, was Eminent Unisex Salon." "And?" "We lost all contacts." "What do you use?" "A tracker. Just in case with moments like this." "Can't you use magic?" The pause, the tic. "We only use it to track bad and dangerous people, not kids." Karen retaliated. "A notorious vampire bit him yesterday and you don't see him as dangerous?" Dylan said. The pause. "Okay, we will do it." Karen instructed her subordinates to gather everything that belongs to Jarek. As one of the subordinates wanted to pick up a bracelet Cassy had given Jarek, Cassy immediately grabbed it, looking at the lady sternly. "I gave him that, no one is taking it." "Your Mot--" "Not even my mother." They assembled all the things related to Jarek, and placed it in front of Karen. The lady Cassy stood up with earlier told Karen about the bracelet. Karen stared at her daughter. "Where is the bracelet?" Karen asked Cassy. "Which bracelet?" Cassy replied, staring at the Karen's subordinate. "Don't make me ask again." "Mom, I gave him that bracelet, no one can collect it from me." "Do you want to see him again?" Dylan asked. "What?" Cassy said. "Do you want to see Jarek again, putting on that bracelet?" "Yes, of course." "Then you need to surrender it to us." "Why should I?" "Because Jarek has been kidn*pped. He ran away, looking for his relatives, but got kidn*pped in the process. I don't know whom, but he is not in good hands right now. So, your mother needs something to track him, then we will save him." Dylan explained. "It is not that the bracelet would be destroyed, it will just leave your hands for some time." Dylan added. Reluctantly, Cassy gave Karen the bracelet. Karen instructed the girls to arrange the room, in which they did in no less than five minutes. "We are done Mistress." "Okay." Karen responded, standing up and walking towards the room. "No one should follow me." She instructed before she was out of sight. Seconds turned to minutes, and minutes into hours. At last, Karen came out of the room and everyone stared at her, hoping for a good news. "He is at Commodore 77." Karen said. "He is coming at me." Dylan whispered. "No, he is not." Karen assured. "I know Boaz, he wants to use Jarek to get to me." "If he wants to get at you, he will use Figo." "How?" "You trust Figo. He will maneuver Figo, and Figo will end up betraying you and before he has the time to regret his actions, you would have been long gone." "That's cruel." "I'm letting you see the greater light. Boaz captured Jarek because he is his prey now, and will love to make use of his potentials." "Is he aware that Jarek's Mom is a werewolf?" The pause, Karen and Dylan's eyes moved over to Cassy, and Cassy stared at them back. "What?" She asked. "You were with Jarek. What happened that night?" The pause. "We heard screams from a distant, but we thought they were just playing around, so we did not care - Moreover, Jarek told me the area was peaceful, so I did not bother. Then there is this man that came out of nowhere, he walked slowly towards us, he was saying something I did not understand because I was frightened, then with the speed of light, I saw him disappear then appeared, holding Jarek's throat. I charged at him, but he flinged me like I was nothing. That was the first time I would be seeing a vampire. I hit my head on stone lying on the floor as my vision got blurry. Before I went blank, I could feel some animals, running towards me, and one came close to me and carried me with its mouth. And before I was out of sight, the other animal, looking like a wolf moved closer to Jarek, and before the wolf could harm him another wolf emerged from the dark." Karen and Dylan listened attentively. When Cassy was no longer talking, Dylan asked. "Where was Boaz at that time?" "Some other wolves chased it, so he ran away." Cassy responded. "Werewolves. That means he doesn't know about Vanessa." Dylan concluded. Boaz was seated calmly on one of the chairs in the large room. A guard walked towards him. "Master." "Yeah?" "Something is off." "What is it?" "The boy we took, he is human." Boaz looked at the guard sternly. "Yes?" "He should be in out secret hideout, not here." "He is different. I bit him yesterday." "You did? He is not even showing any signs of turning into one like us." "Master, are we sure we got the right person?" One of the guards said. The tic, the pause, then followed by an intense moment. The guard who was talking to Boaz knelt down, and begged. "He is new, please forgive him." He begged. "Kneel!" He ordered the other guard to kneel, and he obeyed. Boaz smiled and stood up. "It is okay. Stand up." He walked to the first guard he was talking to and patted his shoulder - immediately, he choked his hands into the chest of other guard and ripped out his heart. He strangled the heart in his hands. "I, Boaz, I don't make mistakes." He said, handing over the heart to the first guard. "Take care of the body." "Okay." The guard managed to reply and Boaz went his way. "Give the child anything he wants except a phone or anything he can use to communicate with anyone." Boaz instructed. "Okay Master." Karen and Dylan were preparing to save Jarek. "Do you really have to go?" Dylan asked. "I saved the child. He will need me again." Karen responded. "I'm coming with you." Cassy said. "Even if I hate you with everything I have, I won't let you go with me." Karen replied. As they were about to leave, the doorbell rang and Cassy went over to get the door. Cassy was staring outside and she looked quite shocked. "Who is it Cassy." Karen asked, but Cassy was too shoked to answer - so she went herself to check and she was as shoked as Cassy. "Alde?" Karen whispered and Alde smiled upon hearing Karen say his name. He noticed how Karen had dressed up and couldn't wait to ask. "Are you heading somewhere?" He asked, still maintaining his happy face.
