No End

Abaddon's POV

I invited Athena and Aleksandr to stay with me in the pack house. Her father was right. I would protect her if it meant my life. That included her son too.

I waited years past most to finally find my mate and I wasn't about to let anything happen to her.

I worried about her though. She had been abused and even without seeing what seemed to be her past, I could sense it.

The way she withdrew from me on the mountain at first. It was a sure sign of the abuse she had been through. She didn't trust easily.

I wanted to fix that, but I couldn't rush head first at her.

I offered her the guest room across the hall from my room. It was the second biggest room in the entire pack house. Perfect for her and Aleksandr to share. Especially since I could tell she felt more comfortable having him close to her.

She had unpacked and was now in the room with Aleksandr spending time together. I decided to bring dinner to them so that she wasn't overwhelmed by the rest of the pack. Most of all, that my family didn't completely freak her out.

I heard a faint voice beckon me into the room before I could even knock.

When I walked in, Aleksandr was curled into Athena's arms while she read to him. They were both curled up beneath the blankets.

"I brought dinner for you both," I announced. Aleksandr bounced up ready for food.

I placed the food at the table nestled in the corner of the room. I had Darien bring it in before Athena fully settled in. I knew she wouldn't want to join the pack right off hand.

"You have three plates Alpha. Are you joining us," Athena sounded amused.

I pulled her close to me and nestled my nose into her neck. Breathing in her wonderful scent. She wrapped her arms around my shoulders and held me.

"Of course I am joining my mate and her pup for dinner. And don't call me that. You call me anything but Alpha. Okay my moon?" I whispered into her hair.

"Okay. I'll come up with something. For now babe works," she let go and smiled.

We sat and ate the food prepared by the omegas. No other food compared to this. Athena ate while encouraging Aleksandr to eat. He seemed to be a picky eater.

"How would you like to watch a movie and eat ice cream, Alek?" I asked.

His eyes brightened until he looked at his mother, whom was giving me a death glare.

"Well, finish up your food kiddo and I'll go grab the treats. Be right back," I said grabbing mine and Athena's empty plates.

I placed the plates into the kitchen sink and headed to the refrigerator. I was looking for the big tub of chocolate moose tracks when my mother startled me.

"You weren't at dinner tonight. What are you up to?" she said, causing me to jump a mile into the sky.

"Oh I was eating with Athena?" I replied.

"Athena? The human girl that Veronica invited to the party? Why is she here?" my mother was now in full helicopter mode.

"She lives here now." I didn't feel like answering her much.

"A human in a pack. You're pack leader now. But let me ask you something. Do you really want to be taking care of a woman and her child? What on earth could possess you to do that? You are just barely doing things on your own now," she said in a loud tone.

I looked up to see Athena standing there with tears welling in her eyes. When we made eye contact she stormed away and slammed the bedroom door.

"Mother, let me tell you something. The woman is my mate. She will stay here and you can't do a damn thing about it. And her child is now mine. He needs a father figure and I plan to be there. So, if you don't mind I have movie date to attend," I said aggressively.

I grabbed the tub of ice cream and spoons walking away without another word.

When I reached Athena's room I could hear shuffling. I didn't knock this time.

Athena was packing all of her things back up and sobbing. I placed the ice cream down and went over to her.

"Athena where are you going?" I said grabbing the wad of clothing from her and throwing it to the floor.

"I don't know. I just can't stay here," she sobbed and pulled away from me.

I stepped closer. "Why not? Because you heard my mother?" I asked.

"Yes. She doesn't even know me and yet she wants me gone too. My mother, your mother, Aleksandr's father, my father. None of them want me and soon you wont either," she cried.

I pulled Athena into my arms. I wrapped her tightly. She tried to struggle and pull away from me, but soon she gave in and let me hold her.

"My moon. I will always want you. Forever and always with no end. That will never change," I said and kissed the top of her head.

She looked up at me as her tears slowed and she gained calmness again.

"Promise?"

I grabbed her hand and wrapped our pinky fingers together. "Pinky promise, kiss and swear," I said and planted a kiss on her hand.

"Well s**t," she said and we both burst with laughter.

I loved her smile and I would fight anyone who dared to steal it away from her.

We all three curled up on the bed. Aleksandr picked a movie about a girl with ice powers that sang a lot about letting s**t go. We ate the entire bucket of ice cream before the movie was over.

Aleksandr was still wide awake so he chose another movie with a girl that sang about water. This movie was a bit more hilarious than the first.

Soon, Athena was wrapped in my arms and fast asleep. Aleksandr soon followed. I laid there until I knew both were far off in dream land and then I slipped out of Athena's arms and out of the room.

It was incredibly hard to leave her side as I crawled into my bed. Her scent still covering my shirt. I smiled as I closed my eyes.

A few short moments later I felt movement next to me. She crawled right into bed with me and laid beside me. I couldn't resist. I rolled to hold her in my arms.

"Hello, you are in my bed," I said while nestling my nose into her hair.

"Shh. Go to sleep. You're so warm," she whispered.

"Good night my snugly butt," I whispered while pulling her back closer to me.

"Good night snugly bear," she said.

"Wolf."

She didn't respond and soon her light breathing let me know she was deep asleep. Soon after I fell into a deep restful sleep.
