Chapter 4 : Let me go

Athena took off her mask. Because her mask had covered almost whole of her face from her forehead to her cheekbones, no one had seen her face yet.

She slowly pulled it off and looked at him as she put it down as if daring him to reject her this time. The man was silent, as his eyes glued on her face but his expression didn’t give anything away.

Athena found a quiet corner place to sit – rare find indeed in this party a quiet seat. Pleased she walked over to the bar and brought a couple of drinks. Everything that just happened right then stared replaying in her mind and couldn’t believe herself. She actually did something so outrageous like coming for a blind date.

It was simply unbelievable.

She was already twenty and still never had a boyfriend. She grew as a good girl. Most of them would mock her, calling, Miss goody-two shoes.

However, as years passed by, Athena started to question herself.” Will I die without having a boyfriend”.

The only way she could think of it is to fulfil her wish was to find a man whom she could fall in love with her. The only way for her experience falling in love first, she would be willing to throw herself in it.

“Since you want someone to fall in love with you, then why don’t you go on a blind date?” Was one of the advice she got from Kelly.

Kelly had arranged her for a blind date and she was suppose to meet him in Hotel Lucifer.

On the other corner of the bar, Zeus sat down and his eyes immediately picked Athena out from the crowd, He saw that she was by herself, a waiter had given her a drink and that she took a sip of that drink. It was obvious to him that this was her first time in a bar by the way she was around the place. And it was also blatantly obvious that was the first time she tasted alcohol by the disgusted look on her face after she took a sip.

In his mind, she was like a lost sheep that had mistakenly walked into the realms of devils. She looked so innocent and vulnerable that he was sure that it wouldn’t be long before she attracted some sleazy, worthless trash of a man who would look at her as easy prey.

The man who approached Athena looked confident and authoritative. His suit, the expensive looking watch and shiny, well polished shoes all screamed that he was probably quite a rich man. A man in an expensive suit walked up to her seat and started speaking to her. His beady eyes looked her up and down and he could practically see the drool falling from the corner of the man’s lips.

“Not even mask could hide that beauty”

Athena looked at the man who sat beside her

“Let me introduce myself to this beautiful woman in front of me…”

The moment he saw the man extend his hand towards Athena he was zealous.

The man gave her a business card and she saw the word CEO written on it. Taking her acceptance of his business card as a positive sign, he sat down on the seat next to her and started a generic but polite conversation with her.

She studies him carefully. When he smiled, it looked like it didn’t reach his eyes. His words were polite and well mannered.

She then smiled back at this smiling CEO before her and made polite conversation. This was what she came here after all right? To be less ignorant about things and to get experience about dating.

Athena quietly sighed and took another sip of the bitter drink and winced from the terrible taste. She pretended to have heard the words the man said.

It seemed that the man noticed that she seemed to wince every time she took a sip of her drink. A waiter instantly hovered near them the moment the man clicked his finger, showing her the difference in how people treated that are extremely rich compared to the normal people.

He was probably a regular customer.

He said something to the waiter and the waiter immediately left. After a few minutes later, she saw the waiter walk back towards their table with different drinks in glasses.

“Here, try these. They taste much better than that drink you’ve got there.” He said.

Athena decided to try it out. She took the sip of the aqua blue drink because it looked pretty and surprisingly tasted good.

She seemed to relax slightly after finishing the cocktail. Her face was flushed and her eyes were starting to glaze over. She also seemed to have some trouble her thoughts and her words were becoming a little slurred.

As sipped her second cocktail a though popped she must tell Kelly about these drinks. These are so good. She needs to try.

She stood up.

“Where are you going,” he asked.

Athena nodded “I need to go home. It’s too late.”

“Do you want me to leave you home” The man politely asked and Athena blinked because her fuzzy mind seemed to remember Kelly instruction…..

“No”

“Still do want me to accompany you and look for taxi?

It’s quite dangerous for girls to go looking restroom alone at this late night?”

“Dangerous?”

“Some men are known to assault girls who are drunk if one is not careful.”

Athena's eyes widened with shock. She started to worry.

Taking advantage of her worry, the CEO guy stood up and offered his hand to her “Come I’ll help you look for a taxi”

“Okay,” She said.

“Follow me” He smiled and Athena nodded.

As she followed him to through the corridors. Suddenly, the man stopped her near the staircase. Then he pushed her at the corner.

“What are you doing-” Athena tried asking between her slurry words….

“You are so damn beautiful.” He said. His voice was husky and his eyes glimmered with nothing but full lust.

Her body started to shake as she realized what mess she was in.

“Please let me go …..” She pleaded.

He pushed her to the wall, roughly and a small cry was torn from her lips.

“Do you think I’ll let you go?” he smirked.

She flinched when she saw him lick her lips. He touched her and she felt so disgusted. She felt the hand on her hip and she tried to push him away from her. She balled her hands into a fist and beat him on his chest.

She thought she could easily get boyfriend after going for the blind date but it turns out it wasn’t that easy at all.

Her head was stuffed full of romance movies and books she read that she did not even think that this type of things could happen. She thought she was brave and daring but look at her now.

She was feeling so terrified that her entire body started to tremble.

“I will make you feel really good.” The man whispered as his grip on her shoulders tightened.

The moment he moved his face closer to her. Athena screamed.
