Chapter 20 Connor walked back through his parents’ new house with yet another huge armful of books, and stopped in his tracks. He’d come to love this part of any building or moving or staging project, and even more to love the way it took him by surprise every time. The dusty, empty, half-finished room had transformed itself between one load of books and the next. Now he stood in the middle of an amazing miniature library that only needed a few last bits of tidying up. No longer a project-in-progress in a house in transition, this was now the heart of the home. The home he’d helped make for his own parents. That made the wave of satisfaction Connor always felt at this moment a thousand times deeper and stronger. He settled the books onto the shelves, filling a row at about his chest
