Chapter Eleven

I stood in the same spot as everyone made their way out of the room. I could tell that many of them still had unanswered questions but they respected their Queen and did not ask anything. Carter sat in the throne with her head held high and legs crossed. She stared directly at Hades who stood in the middle of the room with Poseidon, Hera, and another girl next to him. As the last person left the room, Hades walked forward.  "You seemed to have left some information out." Hades said.  Carter rolled her eyes. "Like?"  "She seems to have the same thing you had once upon a time." He revealed causing Carter's to drop. He turned his attention towards me and held his hand out. "Come to me child."  "She will not." Carter said as she stood up.  "Are you protecting the girl?" He asked with a smirk. "You have feelings?"  Carter stared at the man with hatred before pushing me towards him and sitting back in the throne. Scared, I let him grab my hand as he stared at me with red eyes. He stared directly at me for a few seconds as the room fell into a uncomfortable silence. He let go of my hand before smiling. "Carter and you seem to have quite a lot in common. It seems that you are her except from another dimension." "What?" I asked.  He chuckled. "I do not mean it literally. However, you seem to have a dark side in which you all afraid of and Carter had one too."  The girl next to him stepped forward. "She has a dark side because my father transferred a small portion of his powers to her before. She's able to come to the Underworld without any problems."  "I thought all Gods and Goddesses could?"  She shook her head. "She could live there if she wanted too. I'm glad she's made the decision to not do so."  "Oh?" I mumbled as I looked at the ground.  "I am Melanie by the way. My domain is the Underworld." She introduced.  "What happened to Carter's dark side then?" Rayne said as she stepped down.  "Good overcomes bad." Hades revealed. "She cannot rule two places. It all disappeared the moment she put on the crown."  Carter stood up. "That's enough for today!"  Quickly, I made my way back towards the area where Carter and Rayne stood while the rest of them stood there and watched on. I could feel my body temperature rising again and I knew what was about to happen. Carter stared at me for a bit before sighing and moving from the throne.  "Sit her there before she passes out." She demanded to Rayne. "I don't have time for a funeral right now."  As Rayne touched my hand, she gasped. Everyone remaining in the room turned towards her as she dropped my hand. She turned faced Carter as Carter stared at her in confusion. "We have to get her home."  Carter and Rayne exchanged looks before Carter nodded her head. She looked over at me and gave me a odd look that I had never seen before.  "She shouldn't return so quickly!" Hera said as she stepped forward. "You're leading the child towards her death!"  "Her country has no ruler! Her people are defenseless and need her!" Carter revealed as I stared at her in shock. I could feel the tears roll down my cheek as I realized that my father was dead.  I wasn't prepared. "We must leave." Rayne said as she grabbed my hand and ran towards the doors. Carter stomped her feet as we teleported.  "I was not expecting that." Rayne mumbled as she held her head.  I stood in front of the palace as everyone ran around full of panic. There were people fighting everywhere, fires, and screaming. I watched on as many of the citizens were dying before my eyes while a man wearing all black stood in the middle of the kingdom and killed any and everybody who dared to step towards him.  "They're dying." Rayne mumbled.  He looked at the three of us in shock before smirking. He pointed ahead as three of his followers began to run towards us. Rayne smirked as Carter crossed her arms across her chest.  "I've been waiting for this moment." Rayne stated.  "I'll go first." Carter said as she stepped forward. Two of the men ran at her as she held her hands out causing them to stop. She slowly balled her fist up and they groaned in pain. She stared at them with a bored expression before unballing her fist as they exploded.  I gasped as Rayne clapped her hands in amazement. "I'm going to keep mine simple."  "The floor is yours." Carter said as she stood next to me.  Rayne walked forward as the third man ran at her. She didn't make a move or anything as he kept charging towards her nor did she show any signs of nervousness. Before anything else could happen, she grabbed the man by his neck as he stared at her with wide eyes. "You've made a big mistake, Kevin." "How do you know my name?" He groaned as he kept trying to shake Rayne's hands off from around his neck.  "I shall see you Hell." Rayne responded ignoring his question. Suddenly, Rayne shoved her hand through his chest causing me to gasp. She pulled his heart out before dropping his body and turned faced us. The man in the middle watched on in shock before shaking his head.  "This is far from over!" He exclaimed. "We will return with The Dark Lord!"  "We will be awaiting his arrival!" Rayne called out before tossing Kevin's heart at the unknown man.
