Chapter Ten

"What the hell have you done?" Rayne exclaimed as she pushed Carter's shoulder. "You're going to get her killed for being selfish!"

"Selfish? I just saved our asses and her family! You were the one acting like a scared to do something as simple as teleport us elsewhere!" Carter shot back. 

"Because I was afraid of sending her somewhere where she wouldn't survive! It's called being careful!" 

"Whatever." Carter said as she began walking forward. "I saved your asses." 

Rayne stood there for a second before mumbling, "I hope Hera isn't as bitchy as you." 

"I heard that!" Carter called out. Rayne followed behind her as I followed behind the both of them in silence. We were in a huge garden that was surrounding by different flowers. There was a huge fountain in the center of the garden with concrete benches for people to sit at and I was shocked yet relieved to not see a single soul in the garden. 

We began to walk up these concrete stairs until we reached the top which showed a huge patio. We walked passed the patio and reached a white door. Carter pushed it open and we entered. I stared at the huge ceilings in shock. Carter was right about her home being better than mine. There was beautiful golden chandeliers that hung from the ceilings, beautiful paintings of all of the Greek Gods and Goddesses on the walls, there were statues all down the long hallway while the windows were opened to allow the cool breeze to blow in. We kept walking until we reached huge white double door. Carter pushed them open and we entered a room filled with lots of people. 

"Your Majesty!" We heard a voice exclaim which caused Carter to nod her head and keep walking. I stared ahead at the huge gold throne that sat in the middle of the room. The crowd moved around and cleared space for Carter to enter. I could hear a few hushed whispers as Rayne and I followed behind Carter.  

"Stand behind my throne." Carter demanded as she sat in it. We did as she said and stood there in silence as everyone in the room looked back at us. 

"It's nice to see that you've returned to us, Carter!" One of the men said. 

Carter gave him a raised eyebrow before speaking, "Ares, now isn't the time." 

He shrugged. "I'm not here to cause any problems. I'm glad you've returned to us safe sis." 

"Sis?" I whispered. 

Rayne nodded. "Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera. Carter is the daughter of Zeus so that makes her the sister of Ares." 

"It is nice to see you again, Your Majesty!" A beautiful woman said as she gave Carter a soft smile. 

"Thank you, Helen." 

"You should've stayed a while longer!" One of the men shouted. He wore all white but I could see the muscles threatening to rip through his shirt. "I was beginning to enjoy your room." 

Carter tossed a lightning bolt his way causing him to move out of the way quickly. She smirked as he scoffed and crossed his arms. "I've warned you about going places you're not wanted, Hercules." 

"What's going on?" Someone said as they entered. The man had a grey beard and looked extremely exhausted yet I knew he was someone with plenty of authority by the way he entered the room. 

"I was waiting on your arrival!" Carter exclaimed as she stared at the man. 

"Darling?" Hera asked. 

"Did the prophecy mention anything about two other people?" Carter asked as the room fell into an uncomfortable silence. "Two people who look identical to me especially this one!" She finished as she pointed at me. 

"No." Hercules said. 

"Don't lie to me!" Carter's loud voice boomed causing Rayne and I to stare at her in shock. "I was dragged here and told a story of how my father slept with a mutant and created me then everyone decided to give their abilities to me only to find out that it was a lie to hide the truth about the prophecy." 

"We've told you everything about the prophecy!" The man stated. 

"Poseidon, could you tell me the prophecy again?" She asked revealing the man who had entered to be the God of seas. 

"The prophecy stated that Zeus would be overthrown by someone more powerful than any of us." Poseidon revealed. "It stated that the person who'd become the new ruler would be a new hybrid." 

"Correct. I overthrew my father without even touching him." Carter stated. 

Rayne cleared her throat. "How?" 

Carter looked back at her, "He lost his immortality by having some of his powers transferred out of him and into me. He did it to protect me. He knew of the prophecy and knew that someone would be after me sooner or later so he had all of his strongest abilities transferred into me as a way of protection. He didn't know that I was already powerful on my own." 

"Wow." Rayne mumbled. 

"It didn't mention anything about these two?" Carter asked loudly.  

"No." Poseidon answered. 

Carter chuckled. "Did you know that this girl made me bleed?" She announced as she pointed at me. I stared at the ground as Carter showed everyone the scar. "This mortal girl made me bleed!" 

"How?" Hercules asked. 

Carter shrugged. "The prophecy never mentioned how many could overthrow Zeus and takeover." 

"However, it did state that the whoever takes his place would be a new hybrid." Poseidon revealed. 

"Which they are!" Carter finished. She stood up and walked over to Rayne. "This is Rayne." The doors opened again as another man entered the room. Carter smiles widely at his appearance. "Uncle Hades! You're going to love this one!" She said as she pointed at Rayne. 

"Hades?" Rayne whispered. 

Ignoring her, Carter places her hands on Rayne's shoulders. "Rayne is the ruler of Hell! I'm 100% positive that you are all aware of the story of Lucifer. She's standing in this room right now and she's dead!" 

Everyone in the room whispered and stared at her. Carter walked towards me and grabbed my hand. "This one here? Her name is Raine as well yet she goes by Journee. She looks exactly like me from every single detail. However, she's the only mortal being in this entire place. She's a mutant though." 

"You bought a mutant to Olympus?" Poseidon growled. 

Carter rolled her eyes and shooed him off. "Oh don't worry! They're from a different dimension." 

As soon as she said that, the entire room went into a full blown panic. Everyone began to speak to one another and throw out questions while staring at Rayne and I in confusion and shock. Carter sat in her throne relaxed as everyone else panicked. 

Rayne grabbed Carter's arm. "What did you do?" 

"I'm getting answers." 

"How do we know that she's a ruler of Hell?" Hades asked loudly. "She may have fooled you but she cannot fool me!" 

Carter smirked. "Rayne?" For once, let loose." 

Rayne stepped forward as the room grew colder. Suddenly, huge black wings appeared from her back. She started to walk forward as he eyes held hatred but Carter grabbed her shoulder.  

"Down girl!" She said as she pulled her back. 

Everyone in the room stared at Rayne in shock as Hades stood against the wall with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. He seemed to be pretty impressed with her. 

"Princess Raine here is learning how to control her abilities but don't underestimate or provoke her." Carter warned as she stared at me. "I have a strange feeling that she's about to take on the biggest role of her life." 

"If she's from another dimension then how can she survive here?" Athena asked. 

"That's the point. She's hiding out here because someone is after her father, the throne, and her. This here is a future Queen." Carter announced. 

"What?" Poseidon asked. 

Rayne stepped forward. "We are still trying to figure things out ourselves. We just ask that no one provokes her. We don't know what she's truly capable of and she doesn't either." 

Carter sighed and stared at me for a second before turning her attention towards the people in the throne room. "She just needs protection and a peace of mind right now. She left her country feeling scared, devastated, and defeated." 

Rayne nodded her head in agreement. "She left her country as a Princess." 

"But I have a strange feeling that she will return as a Queen." Carter finished.
