Mating talks and First dates

Allison's pov:             We have been home now for four days, I haven't seen the King much as he has been busy trying to track down his brother, find the spy in the castle and talking to the elders about our mating. A couple things have changed since we have been back. One is, I am no longer a pet to the King, but now I am his future mate. The other, is that Rachel is also no longer a pet to Prince Stefan. She is now my companion and is no longer a slave. Rachel and I couldn't be more happier to not be slaves anymore. It is like a dream come true. I wish there was a way to free all the slaves and make them free, like before the war.             I was currently sitting in my room with Rachel, yes the King has allowed her to be alone with me now. She has earned his trust and mine as well. There was a knock on the door. "Come in." The King stepped into my room and came over to me and gave me a kiss on my forehead. "I have missed you my love." "You saw me just this morning." I said back to him giggling into my hand. He turned towards Rachel then and asked if we could be alone, so she bowed to us both and left. "Have you received any news of your brother or the spy?" He sighed and sat beside me on the bed. "No, I haven't. His trail ends in Paris and no one can find him. No news on the spy either, but I came to talk to you about the mating." That peaked my interest, I have been both nervous and excited since he told me we was to mate. "Go ahead, I'm listening." The King took my hand and kissed my knuckles, making me blush.              "I am still unsure about what to do during the mating as you are the first half vampire to ever mate a vampire. I can tell you what normally takes place, so you have a general idea?" "Yes, yes, of course. I am very curious." I sat up straighter to listen to him. "Well it is a week long process. The first day, we will cleanse our bodies and purify our souls. The second day is for getting to know each other. We will spend the whole day together and never part. We will talk about our past, present and future. The third day is to learn to listen to our hearts and not our voices. We will express ourselves to each other with body language. The fourth day, we give thanks to each other. I will shower you in gifts and treat you as the Queen you are. The fifth day is when we exchange our blood. It will make us one. On the sixth day is when we mate. I will bite you on your neck and you will bear my mark for all to see. The seventh day is for resting and being close to each other." "Wow" Is all I could say. "Will I become a vampire then?" "That's what I'm not sure about, technically you would already be one when we mate, but since your a half breed I'm not sure what will happened." "So when were you thinking of mating me?" "As soon as possible."              "I do want to mate you, but I am still only sixteen. I am a little young to be mating. Can't we wait just a little while longer and get to know each other a bit more first?" "What do you have in mind?" "We could go on a couple dates and get to know each other? You can feel the bond and although I can feel it a little bit, I still need a little bit more time." I looked at him nervously for his reaction. He seemed to be deep in thought and I was expecting the worse. "I think that it could work. I don't want to mate you until you are ready." I released the breath that I didn't realize I was holding in at his answer. "Thank you, that means a lot to me that you are willing to wait." He seemed to have more to say on the matter so I waited for him to continue. "Although, for your safety, since my brother is still out there hiding; the sooner we mate the better. I don't know what I would do if something happened to you, my love." "I understand and I will let you know when I am ready." He seemed to accept what I had said and he moved onto a different topic. "So, where would you like to go on our date?"             The next night, I was getting ready for our date. I was so excited to be getting out of the castle and seeing the area with King Nicholai. We decided on a dinner date, his friend owned a nice restaurant in the next town over, that catered to both vampires and humans, as many pets traveled with their owners. I of course wasn't going as a pet, but as the future Queen of vampires. It was our first outing where other vampires were going to be seeing me with the King. I was very nervous that they were going to hate me, like Prince Stefan did, but the King assured me that they would not be unkind towards me with him by my side.             I looked at myself in the mirror and hardly recognized myself. Never had I worn such a beautiful gown in my life. The dress was a dark blue and was tight until it reached just below my hips and then flared out. I also was wearing black high heels. My long hair was pulled up and then curled into ringlets. King Nicholai had gifted me diamond earrings to wear for the evening and I felt like a Princess. A knock on my door pulled me away from the mirror and I opened the door to the King looking like some Greek God. He was wearing a tailored dark blue suit with a grey tie. His long shoulder- length brown hair was up in a bun and I couldn't help but to look at him in awe. He gently shut my mouth and cupped my cheek with his hand and kissed me delicately on my lips. "You look gorgeous, love. Although you are missing one thing." I looked at him in confusion and he chuckled at my expression. He pulled his free hand around from his back and held a small box out to me. I took it and opened it and inside was a beautiful diamond necklace. "May I do the honors?" He asked me. "Of course." I turned around as he fastened the necklace around my neck. I gently touched the diamonds and looked up at him. "It's beautiful Nicholai." "It was my mother's, you look radiant in it." "Thank you." "Shall we go?" He extended his elbow and I grabbed it with my hand as he led me out of the room.             It was about a thirty minute drive to the restaurant, we made small talk on the way there and I was enjoying myself, but as we pulled up to the restaurant, I started feeling nervous. Nicholai sensed my nerves and he gently laid a hand on my thigh and gave me a reassuring smile, which I gave in return. We got out of the car and entered the restaurant, hand in hand. All eyes were on us as we entered and Nicholai gave my hand a little squeeze to help ground me and let me know he was there, which I appreciated. A vampire hostess greeted us as we came upon her. "King Nicholai, welcome. I have your table ready, right this way." She said to us. As we followed her to a secluded booth for privacy, I felt a million eyes on me and could hear whispering. Some pets were looking at me with jealousy as I was with the King and no longer as his pet. I didn't want them to ruin my first date, so I directed my gaze elsewhere. I instead looked at the beautiful interior of the place. Floor to ceiling windows, chandeliers hanging from the ceilings, candles lit on the tables and soft, calming music playing over the speakers. The place was beautiful and I was so glad the King took me here.          We came upon our table and the King pulled my chair out for me to sit down. I thanked him and he made his way to his chair. "This place is absolutely beautiful, thank you for bringing me here." He had a pleased smile on his face as he looked over at me. "Not as beautiful as you, my love." We looked over the menu and told the waitress what we were having when she came to our table. The King decided on a glass of O-, while I ordered a plate of Chicken Alfredo. While we were waiting for our food, a man came up to our table. The King seemed to know him as he smiled at him and stood up to hug him. "Isaac! It has been too long. How are you my old friend?" "I am well, my King. I see I have finally got you into my restaurant." Oh, so he is the owner. He then looked over at me and kissed my hand. "Such a beautiful human, Nicholai. Is this your future mate?" "Yes, she is. Allison, meet Isaac. I have known him for centuries. He is a good and loyal friend." "It is nice to meet you, Isaac." "The pleasure is all mine, my dear." Isaac said to me before turning to Nicholai once again. "I will let you eat as I see your waitress coming over with your food. Desert is on me tonight. Anything you desire, is yours. Have a wonderful evening you two." He bowed to us both and walked away. He seemed nice, I enjoyed his upbeat attitude. But I was happy to be alone with the King again.             We ate our dinner and decided on a piece of chocolate cake for desert. Well, I did as I was the one eating it. I realized during desert that we didn't talk a lot during the date as a few vampires came over to congratulate the King on finding his mate. We were interrupted more times than I would like to count, but overall it was great first date.              As we made it back to the castle, I realized that I could be happy mated to the King. He was so gentle with me. I truly believed that I could love him just as much as he loves me. Although we have not said I love you yet, I could feel that he loves me. He escorted me back to my room and ducked down to kiss my lips gently, as he pulled back, I grabbed his neck and brought him down for a longer kiss. He kissed me back with so much passion, my legs felt weak. He held me up by grabbing my waist as my arms went around his shoulders. He pulled back after a minute and just stared at me for a moment. "Good night, my love. I will see you in the morning for breakfast." "Good night, Nicholai." Then he turned and walked away while I closed my bedroom door with a smile on my face. I through myself on my bed and sighed.             "That was amazing."
