The Lost Princess of The Heavens

No Mans Land

As a few weeks went by, I continued walking deeper and deeper into the forest, I started getting the strangest feeling. The air became heavy, and the trees blocked out all light, and nothing but the sound of silence filled the air.

Stay alert Persephone, someone is out there watching us…

I kept my cool and continued on until I heard what sounded like someone screaming, and I did the only thing my feet would do. I ran toward the screams, ELIZABETH?! A wolf was stalking her, but she refused to hurt her. “I could not just leave you, Persephone! We became like sisters after what we went through, and I did not want to give that up…” The wolf stopped and looked back and forth between us, barked, and turned away.

Follow her, and bring Eliza, she has been accepted by our new friend.

I grabbed Eliza’s hand and followed the wolf into a clearing, and she shifted into her human form. “Apologies for scaring you, your sister here triggered one of my alarms, and I can be pretty territorial. What are you doing on my land?” Elizabeth chimed in, this is no mans land, it belongs to no one except rogues. The girl shot her a dirty looked and Eliza went behind me. “I am not a rogue”, she gritted through her teeth. I am Persephone, the one behind me is Eliza, and you are? “Alexandria, and this us to be my pack before the war.” Eliza apologized for rudeness, and offered a token of appreciation for taking us in. “Food, real food” Alexandria muttered as she started to drool.

“I’ll cook!” Eliza stated proudly. I will help tidy up. I said with a smile, “Call me Alex, and welcome to my home!” How long have you been living out here? “Twelve or thirteen, I think… My dad said he would be right back, he went to go rescue my mom, but they never made it out. They were Beta’s to Silver Claw Pack.” Eliza was cooking away, and I could see sorrow consume her face. “Don’t feel bad for me, I have been doing fine on my own. Persephone, can I ask you a personal question?”

Sure, Alex. “Who are you?” I looked down to the floor, I am not sure what you mean, Alex… “Your eyes are blue, sapphire blue, and your hair burns like the sun.” If I had to guess, you are a child between the moon goddess and the sun god.” Eliza stops cooking and says that’s it, I have been trying to figure out your history when the answer was right in front of me!

Perse and I were just as confused, and we gave the floor to Eliza and Alex. “Long ago The Sun God and Moon Goddess fell in love and between them they had many children who went on their own in search of family and meaning. Until one day the sisters and brothers discovered a child was born, the God and Goddess favored this child over everyone. Her hair shined like the sun but everything else was, well she was the spitting image of the Moon Goddess. The sibling grew jealous and plotted behind closed doors. She was taken in the middle of the night and was left in the mortal world, and no one has seen or heard a thing since!” I just stared at them, and you think I am this child?... “Well, we don’t know for sure, but no werewolf has blue eyes unless they’re from a specific pack, and they kind of look like you except for the red hair.” What’s the pack name? “The Sapphire Pack!” Alex shouted at me.

Could this be true, Perse?

I cannot be certain, the only way to find out is if we go to them. Persephone, I think we should wait here for a while…

Why, is something wrong?

Brace yourself.

Wha—AHHHH! My head is killing me, my skin is on fire! What’s happening to me?! I run out of Alex’s little hut and begin stripping out of my clothes, the moon light consumed my skin as I began to shift, patches of fur started to appear and my hands slow morphed into paws. Holy s**t! Alex screamed as she watched but tried talking me through it. Before I knew it, I was on all fours and I saw two large white paws, Eliza conjured up a mirror and there she was… Persephone, an all-white massive wolf, with eyes that shined like sapphires. “Only the Sapphire Clan has a white wolf that I know of… legend says that white wolves are direct descendants of the Moon Goddesses bloodline” Alex stared in disbelief as she said it.

We let out a howl that echoed through the forest, stirring up a gust of wind. “Persephone, stop! You’ll draw their attention! Alex screamed in panic. Little by little wolves came into the clearing as Alex stood in front of Eliza to shield her until she realized it. Look at the ground and the trees, they’re growing, Persephone you didn’t no tell me you could control nature?! Eliza cried out; I don’t understand why they’re not attacking!  Alexandria stood proud and said it means we have a pack, and where there is a pack, we have a Luna. Queen of the rogues, and her everyone will know her as Persephone of the Greene. Eliza looked baffled but proud as she watched her best friend find her place, looks like we need to get this land up and running if she is going to be a Luna, Alex nodded proudly.

I slowly shifted back and so did the rogues who emerged from the forest, all kneeling before me. “We pledge or loyalty to you!” I looked back at Alex and Eliza who were smiling and nodding in agreement, I accept your pledge of loyalty, and tonight we become a pack! Cheers erupted from the group of rogues as they all stood slicing their palms and shaking hand with me. I felt the link emerge suddenly with them, as the scents began to change.

Perse, what do I do now?!

Lead them, Alex and Eliza will guide us. I am also expecting someone.

Who?

Another guard, her name is Sylvie, and she will be part of the Lunas Guards, as well as Alex and four other women who will come to us when the time is right.

What about Eliza?

She will be our advisor, and teacher until she must return to her coven…

What do you mean return?

Her mission will be completed until we take our right place in this world.

Alex stepped forward, now that we are a pack, the council will send an elder to come out. I have no doubt they have sensed our presence by now. Our goal is to get the pack house up and running, we start at dawn! Someone shouts from the back “How the hell are we supposed to do that without money?!” Alex smiled, let me handle that, while crossing her arms and winking at me.

Let’s get some rest everyone, we have a big day tomorrow! Everyone lied down where they were standing, and Alex offered me her hut. No, I’ll stay outside with everyone until they have a roof over their head. “Spoken like a leader” Eliza chimed in. As I lied down, I could hear everyone through the pack link,

My eyes nearly popped out of my head, and I responded to her; we can speak tomorrow morning. When the sun rose, I hear everyone getting up for work. Eliza was making breakfast and conjuring up breakfast and clothes, Alex was pulling in with construction workers and materials followed by an old man in blue Volkswagen staring in disbelief. I watched him get out of his car while Eliza conjured me up a beautiful gown adorned with leaves, go get changed before you meet the elder, she said.

I rushed into the hut and began changing a fast as possible, “Who is in charge of here?!” I heard everyone stop due to the power in his voice.

 He has power, he is of Alpha blood, and so do we. We bow to no one, Persephone. Remember that, and if you have to, use your Luna voice, as she chuckled.

I stepped out of the hut, I am in charge, and I saw his mouth drop to the floor. Why have you stopped my pack from working? “I-I-I-….” I see, you may call me Persephone Greene, and this pack has been granted to me by the former Beta’s daughter Alexandria Summer. “A survivor?! He cried out, why did you not come forward!” You let her pack fall, and you let her pack land be consumed by the elements of nature! I saw him wince and kneeled, I am sorry Alexandria… Rise, and explain why you are here?!

“I was sent out here by the council to figure out what was going on, and I had a dream of you, Luna…” What do you mean? “I believe my dream came to me so I may help you. I insisted the council sent me to investigate what was going on out here, and now that I know… I will do everything in my power to make sure what you are doing here goes uninterrupted. I will report back to the council and demand that I will be your packs elder.” Oh, thank you… “My name is Richard Webber, and I…” I saw him sniff as his eyes turned black when they landed on an older lady. “MATE” She looked up startled and but they ran into each other’s arms, kissing and inhaling each other’s scent. 

Well, looks like someone found their second chance mate, Alex said smiling. Second chance mate? You have a lot to learn, pup. Lets start giving you lessons, Eliza said. "Ms. Greene I must take my mate with me and bring my report to the council. We will be back tomorrow morning, and I hope to bring the news of your pack being official. The first female Alpha of a pack, or should I say Luna?" I laughed at his comment, please do not waste any more time. My wolf and I are eager to start our new life.
