The Twin Billionaire

As the medical practitioners started the surgery, tears filled the eyes of Nora because she knew that her father’s wellbeing was at the expense of her happiness. As Nora kept on sobbing, she received a pat on her shoulder and she hurriedly wiped her tears off and she turned to see her mother also crying. she asked her mother “what’s the problem,mother?” Her mother replied, “ Nora, I know how you feel about this and I’m so sorry that this had to happen”. Nora’s mother then reminded her of the statement she would always make to her when she was little,saying “we make sacrifices for the people we love”. As Nora heard these words, she burst into tears again making her eyes red and swollen, her mother then gave her a very warm hug which comforted her, meanwhile the doctor just stood there waiting to give them feedback on the just undergone surgery. They became so inquisitive about the health of Mr williams and the doctor told them that the surgery was successful and their hearts were at ease. They proceeded to the room where Mr williams was and as he saw his wife and daughter approach, tears rolled down his cheeks and he embraced them while the doctor just stood by the door watching them and having a sense of fulfillment right there in his heart. The horn of a car is being heard from outside, it’s the cab that came to pick Mr williams from the hospital. The hospital bills were settled and they came outside to take their ride back home, throughout the journey home the atmosphere in the car was very cold as nobody made any attempt to utter a word till they all got home. They all reached their destination and everyone came down and went inside except for Nora who waited to pay the driver and then headed to her room where she locked herself up thinking of what was ahead of her. Nora stayed indoors all day and she cared less of what was happening outside of her room. Nora wasn’t happy at all and all efforts made by her mother to put a smile on her face were all in vain. Nora refused to eat and drink anything ever since she returned from the hospital and this made her mother more scared. With the way Nora was behaving, her mother suspected that she would kill herself someday but she waved that thought away because she believed that Nora couldn’t do such a thing. Just then she heard the door of Nora’s room open and she quickly rushed to see if it was Nora that came out of her room and to her surprise, it was Nora Nora’s mother called Nora in order to have a little conversation with her but Nora was reluctant about having any conversation with her mother. Nora’s mother called her and asked “Nora are you okay?.Nora responded with a sharp tone, “Yes, mummy i am fine”;why then are you behaving like this said her mother ? Mummy please I would want to be left alone said Nora as she headed straight to her room and she locked the door. Ever since Nora’s mother gave birth to her, she has never behaved like this and Nora’s mother was becoming worried. She loved her daughter so much and didn’t want anything to happen to her. Just as Nora laid down in her room silent, she was wondering why her father hasn’t come to speak to her about her marriage with billionaire Derick. Could it be that billionaire Derick has forgotten about it? She thought to herself. Just then she heard a knock on the door, who is it? She asked. “It’s I your father”, Mr Williams replied to her. Nora please come to the living room, we have something important to talk about. Nora kept mute as she started to wonder if the discussion was about getting married to billionaire Derick. The thought of this made her shed a little more tear,she heard another knock again but this time around the sound was a very hard one so she quickly got up and told her father that she was coming. Nora’s father was at the living room waiting for her while her mother was in the kitchen preparing a meal. Nora finally came out and she greeted her parents. The food was then served and everyone finished their food apart from Nora. Her mother was curious about knowing why Nora didn’t finish her food even though it was her favorite meal,Why didn’t you finish your meal? Her mother asked. Nora told her that she lost appetite,her father then whispered to his wife not to force her, so Nora’s mother just packed up the plates and went straight to the kitchen and then headed back to the living room to join them. Mr Williams cleared his throat before he started talking, he initially appreciated Nora for risking her happiness and saving his life. He then reminded Nora of the statement which her mother would always say to her which was “we make sacrifices for the people we love”. Nora knew that this discussion was about her marriage with billionaire Derick but she remained calm for quite some reasons. She just sat down on the sofa chair listening to what her father was saying. In less than no time, billionaire Derick would be here and his coming here is in respect to the agreement we had with him. He shifted close to Nora because he knew she needed the best comfort she could get at that moment. Nora on hearing these words became so grieved because she can’t imagine leaving her parents and getting married to someone she does not love. From time to time she kept on visualizing her life with billionaire Derick. Nora’s mother just sat right there on the sofa gripped with pity for her daughter. She could imagine the trauma that Nora is going through but she couldn’t do anything about it. Nora stood up leaving her parents in the living room and went straight into her room, just as she slammed the door of her room, there were sounds of gunshots heard outside,Nora was so afraid that she ran out of her room to meet her parents at the living room but to her greatest surprise, her parents were no longer there neither were they anywhere around the house.
