Chapter 18

I could not believe what I just read. My whole life was a lie. They are not my real parents. They lied to me. I knew they hated me, but I always though because I was not born from true love from their real mates. Now, my real parents are dead, my so-called parents are not my parents. It was just too much for me. I cried my eyes out. Shawn was asking me questions. I couldn’t stop crying, I just gave him the letter. While he was reading it, I tried to control my tears. It was just so hard. My while life was a big lie. I needed answers to my questions.

As soon as I was able to control myself, I wiped my tears away. I look at Jax, my uncle. He looks at me and gives me the saddest smile ever. I stand and run up to him. I took him by surprise when I hugged him. He hugs me back.

“I am so sorry for what happen Liz. I swear to Moon Goddess, I tried every way to find you. It wasn’t until a few years that they contacted me again. I had to play the part of evil in order to keep them close to find you. As soon as I knew of their plan, I did all I could to delay them.” He explains to me.

“Uncle Jax, it is not your fault. You did not do this to me. It was them, but why? Why they took me and poisoned my parents? I ask him.

He looks at me and says “They had twisted feelings for your parents. It got to the point that it got toxic. Your parents were living happy with you in their lives. They did not see what they were planning against them. Their focused was on making you the happiest little girl ever. They never thought that it will be short lived.”

“This is messed up. What type of people do this to an innocent child?” Shawn exclaims.

I walk back to him and rub his back to calm him down. “We will figure something out Alpha. These people will pay for what they had done to my sister and her mate, as well for taking away my niece from the family.” My Uncle tells him.

“Please, call me Shawn. You are family to my princess. And yes, they will pay for what they have done to her parents. I will not let them get away from this.” He says.

I was feeling exhausted from all the new information. My world has changed so fast. Shawn sees me tired, so he excuses us, not before telling my uncle he can have a room in our home. He takes me back to our bedroom and gets the bath ready. He undresses me and carefully bathes me. Afterwards, he takes me back to our bed and cuddles me. Ever so softly, he brushes my hair with his fingers. Slowly, I fall asleep.
