Chapter 7

4390 Words
Amelia pov “What do you mean, he just stood there?” Nina called me first thing this morning to get all the details from last night. She’s just as confused as I was. “He literally just stood there. I felt him go tense, so I ran inside and slammed the door in his face.” Nina is laughing down the phone. “Oh god, that’s hilarious.” “No Nina, it’s not. I’m a fücking idíot. I thought he liked me, he asked me out again. If he wanted to go out with me again, why was he repulsed by my kiss?” I was exasperated. I rubbed the back of my head. It felt really sore today. I must have been thrashing around in my sleep and banged it. “Maybe you just surprised him. Maybe he thought you wouldn’t make the first move since you’ve been a little hostile to him before last night.” “What? I’ve not been hostile to him, maybe a little hesitant. Oh god, why did I have to kiss him!” “Relax, I’m coming over now.” “Ok thank you,” I hung up the phone and went downstairs for some breakfast. I know Milo won’t make anything, so I make some for him as well. “Milo, I’ve made pancakes,” I plate them up and sit down. Two minutes later, Milo walks into the kitchen looking like the cat that got the milk. “What are you smiling about?” I eye him suspiciously. “Nina is coming over.” I smile at my brother. He deserves to be happy, and so does Nina. They were made for one another and I’m so happy they are both realizing that now. “I’m happy for you, Milo, but if you hurt her.” “I won’t Amelia. I’ve loved Nina for so long, but I’ve been too afraid of rejection.” He sat down and started to shovel the pancakes into his mouth. He said he loved Nina. I’m so happy for them both. I can’t help the huge smile. KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK “I’ll go.” I get up and answer the door to a delivery of flowers. “Amelia Harris?” “Yep, that’s me,” I take the flowers and close the door with my foot. I find the note and open it whilst walking into the kitchen with the flowers. I put them on the counter and read the note. Soon we will be together I read the note again and suddenly remembered the note in my car. I rush out of the kitchen to the table where I left my bag and rip the envelope open. Amelia, You are even more beautiful than I remember. “Amelia. Amelia!” Milo was shouting at me, but I’m too stunned to say anything. It’s time to tell Milo everything now. This is getting out of hand and it’s starting to freak me out. “Milo, I’ve got to tell you something, but first you have to promise not to get mad!” “It’s not good if I have to promise not to get mad, Amelia. What is it?” “Promise!” I held my pinky finger out towards him, waiting. He huffed and took my pinky with his. “Promise.” He didn’t look happy about it, but I needed him to be calm and not fly off the handle. “Ok, this note came with the flowers.” I passed him the note, and he looked confused. “It’s not the first note I’ve got. I found this one on my car windscreen the other day when I was leaving work and then the day after someone was in the parking lot following me and saying my name then the person banging on the door in the early hours of the morning and the phone call and now this.” I passed him the note that was left on my car. Milo’s eyes flashed from blue to black and he started to violently shake. This was new. I’ve never seen him shake uncontrollably like this before. I took a step back and watched. Milo stopped the shaking but his eyes remained black. “How long has this been going on for Amelia?” His voice was gruff and sounded different, but it was definitely Milo talking. He must be extremely mad. “Last week. Milo, you promised not to be mad with me,” he turned his gaze to me and his eyes returned to blue. “I’m not mad with you. I’m mad you kept this from me, but I could never be mad with you.” He pulled me into a bone-crushing hug and he rubbed the top of my head with his knuckles. Díck. “I’ve got to make a call. Nina is here as well.” I didn’t hear her knocking, but I go to the door anyway and as I open it, her hand was in the air like she was just about to knock on the door. “Hey!” she says as she walks in, looking around for Milo. “He’s making a call.” She nods her head in understanding and we chat about all my life's problems. ••• A few hours later, there’s a knock on the door. Nina gets up to answer it and I stay sat on the sofa. I hear a deep voice that makes my insides melt and I slap myself mentally for forgetting about today. Hayden walks in and the room feels suffocating. How can this man I’ve only just met affect me so much and why does he always have to look so damn good? I realize I’m only wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top and suddenly feel exposed. “Excuse me.” I stand up to walk out to get changed when Hayden grabs my arm, stopping me from leaving. “Amelia, wait. Can we talk about last night privately?” “I get the hint. I’ll go find Milo,” Nina says as she walks out of the room. “It’s ok Hayden. There’s nothing to talk about. You didn’t have to come here to talk. I get it ok. Now I really do need to go get dressed.” I try to walk away again, but Hayden doesn’t let go of my arm. “Amelia, please. Let me explain. If you still want to go after I’ve finished, then I will accept that and will let you go.” He looked into my eyes and I knew I was in trouble. I could get lost in his beautiful green eyes. I nodded my head and waited for him to continue. “Last night was one of the best nights I’ve had in a very long time. When you kissed me, I was surprised, that’s all. I wasn’t expecting you to do that, but I’m glad you did. I wanted to kiss you back more than you can ever possibly know. My brain was taking its time to register what was happening, but then you slammed the door in my face. I’m sorry if I made you feel like I didn’t want it or like it because I did. I very much liked it and I want nothing more than to rectify my stupid mistake. Being around you makes it difficult to think properly-” Before he could finish what he was saying, I crashed my lips into his again. This time, he pulled me closer to his body. It felt like electricity was shooting all over my body, pleasant shocks kissing my skin where he touched mine. His tongue found its way into my mouth and fought for dominance with my own tongue. I have never had a kiss like this in my life. It felt like a mini orgasm in my mouth. If it felt this amazing to kiss him, I can only imagine what having s*x with this man would be like. I heard a guttural growl come from his throat, and it was sexy as fück. My hands twisted into his hair, pulling slightly on it whilst he pulled me closer to himself, tightening his arms around my waist. “Ahem!” Hayden loosened his grip on me and broke away from the kiss, leaving me panting and wanting more. I didn’t know I would ever experience a kiss like that in my life. A kiss that left me breathless and desperately wanting to be kissed like that again. “Sorry to interrupt, but I need a word with you.” My brother looked at Hayden and he nodded his head. “We still have a date. Go get ready.” He kissed me again on the top of my head and I was in deep trouble. This man was breaking down all the walls I had built up to protect myself. In the little time I had known him, I couldn’t imagine him not in my life. I have never wanted someone more than him. A voice inside my head was scrėaming mine, mine, mine over and over like a mantra repeating inside of my mind. I watched as he walked away with my brother. The way he moved his body with such confidence, his aura scrėamed dominance and it was incredibly sėxy. ••• I’m currently sitting in Hayden’s car watching the scenery blur past. His smell is surrounding me, making all my other senses feel heightened. He looks beautiful. I don’t know if men are called beautiful, but he is. His hair looks so soft and silky, his skin looks flawless and sun-kissed, his dimple is so cute and adorable and is out on full display because of his ear-splitting smile that I can’t help but smile along with. His eyes have a twinkle in them, making them look mesmerizing. When I look into his eyes, I can’t help the feeling of him being able to read my every thought. His lips look big and juicy and his stubble just makes him look even sėxier. I brush my fingers across my lips, remembering the feel of his lips on mine. The feel of his stubble tickling my skin. “Are you ok? You seem to be deep in thought,” his voice was captivating. It soothed me. I could listen to him all day and never get bored with hearing him. “I’m fine. I’m great actually. So, are you going to tell me where we are going?” I look up at him through my lashes, his smile radiates making me feel warm and safe. “A hike. I know the weather is a bit cold, but it’s beautiful in this kind of weather.” “I love the colder weather.” I really did. I loved it when the day went darker faster and the weather was cold. I loved going for walks in the rain. It felt refreshing, like all my sins had been washed away by Mother Nature. We pulled up along a road and Hayden got out and opened my door for me. I got out and stretched. My shirt rose up slightly and I felt the cold air biting my skin. Hayden’s eyes darted from my stomach to the ground. I caught him checking me out. I chuckled to myself and zipped my jacket up. “Ready?” “Yes, let’s go.” I followed behind him into the dense forest. We walked for a while. The forest felt enchanting, like I was surrounded by magical creatures unseen by the human eye, untouched by civilization. Every now and then we would stop and Hayden would point out some wildlife for me. As we got deeper into the forest, it felt like it had come to life. “I want to show you something very special to me,” he said as he took my hand. Hayden pushed some branches that hung down from a tree to the side and I walked through, completely spellbound by the sight in front of me. A waterfall was gushing over the rocks above from a cliff. The water hitting the aqua blue water below made bubbles ripple through the pool of water. Plants climbed down the rocks alongside the trail, the water left. The smell of lemon drifted into my nose and I realized it was coming from the tiny purple flowers creeping around the pool. I looked over to Hayden who had walked forward towards the body of water. “This is… spectacular Hayden.” I was truly lost for words. He dropped his bag to the floor and started to rummage through it. He pulled out a blanket and placed it over some rocks near the edge of the water. I walked over and sat down, looking at this amazing man in front of me, for he was the most mesmerizing thing I have ever laid my eyes on, including this waterfall. “How did you find this place?” I asked him. “It’s on some land that belongs to my parents. They would bring me here as a child, and I knew I wanted to share this with you as well.” “It’s truly breathtaking.” “Yes, it is.” He replied whilst looking into my eyes. I felt my skin flush and looked back at the water. ••• We spent the next few hours talking. I felt so at ease with him, like I had known him my entire life. Every time his fingers would graze past me, I felt sparks bristle across my flesh. I didn’t understand why he made me feel this. I have never felt this with anyone else before. A twig snapped in the distance. It seemed to echo really loud around us, snapping me from my daydream. Hayden’s head snapped towards the sound and I saw his eyes cloud over. “Hayden, are you ok?” I stood up and asked him, grabbing his face between my hands to check he was all right. He wasn’t hot or clammy and he didn’t have any chills, either. His eyes locked onto mine, green meeting blue and I dropped my hands back to my side, embarrassed about touching him like that. Then the strangest thing happened. His eyes flashed from green to black. Just like Zak and Milo’s eyes do. I stepped back, startled. From what I know, it was a very rare thing to happen and Nana had said it was a special gift my brothers had. I hadn’t realized how close I was standing to the edge of the rock and, as I stepped back, I felt the ground disappear from beneath my feet. I fell into the water. The cold hit me and seeped into my skin, chilling me to my core. I tried to swim up, but my clothes had become heavy and my jacket was pulling me under, deeper into the abyss. I was swept under the waterfall and the water hitting the surface above me made it hard to determine what was up and what was down. I couldn’t hold my breath much longer and the panic took over me. My lungs are struggling to keep the air in. I gulped down a mouthful of the ice-cold liquid, my throat burning from lack of air. I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me and pull me up, up towards my salvation. As I broke through the surface, I took a large gulp of air, burning my lungs as I did so. Hayden pulled me along towards the edge of the water and when he could stand, he picked me up like I weighed nothing and wrapped the blanket around my body, rubbing his hands up and down to warm me up. “Amelia, are you ok? I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you!” He looked desperate for me to believe him, and I did. It was my own fault for what happened. This wasn’t something I had never seen before. I just didn’t expect it from someone else. “I’m…ok…I…ju..just….nee..d…to…warm up” I stuttered, my teeth chattering together. He started to take his clothes off. “Wh…at…are….you…do…ing” “Warming you up before you die of hypothermia. I’m going to take your clothes off so I can warm you up, OK?” I was going to protest, but he took his shirt off and my god he looked like he was made by god himself. His muscles flexed with his movements, his abs shining from the water. He had a tattoo on his right shoulder of a wolf howling. The tattoo weaved its way down his right arm. It also came up and over onto his chest. That part was trees with wolves running through them. It looked very intricate. Next, his pants and I seriously almost had a heart attack. His strong thighs looked so powerful and toned, he had a v that went down into his boxers. I felt him pulling my clothes off, but I was too consumed with his body to notice. I felt him pull me close to his body and wrapping the blanket around both of us. His hot breath fanned my face whilst he rubbed his big strong hands up and down my body to warm it up. “I’m sorry,” I whispered out embarrassed by the whole situation. “What for?” He asked me. “For this. I was just startled, that’s all, and I’m such an idíot for not taking in my surroundings better.” “Shhh it’s ok. I’m sorry I startled you. It’s just that when I’m near you, I become consumed with you. When you touch me I…” he stopped, but I wanted to hear what he was going to say. “What? What happens when I touch you?” He let out a growl that came from his throat, like a wild beast, but fück it was sėxy to hear. “It’s hard to control myself around you and the more time I spend with you, the harder it gets, but I can’t bear to be away from you.” I didn’t know what to say. I was speechless to hear how he felt about me. Me, of all people. “Hayden I -” Before I could finish, his lips crashed into mine. I ran my hands up his hard chest and wrapped them around his neck, pulling him deeper into the kiss. His hands roamed across my body. He pulled one of my legs up and across his hip, so I wrapped my leg around his leg, bringing us even closer. I could feel his erection poking through his boxers and my god. It felt magnificent. Desire filled me as he trailed kisses down my neck. I wanted more. I needed more from him. “Hayden!” A woman’s voice rang through the area and I stopped what I was doing, shocked at hearing someone calling for him. I heard a small growl from Hayden again, making me giggle. At least I know he wanted this as much as I did. “Hayden, I’m walking towards the waterfall and you better be decent.” The woman’s whimsical voice echoed through the trees. “Who’s that?” I asked him, feeling incredibly shy. “I’m Alisa Hayden’s mother and you must be Amelia. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I wish it was under better circumstances, though. I brought you some warm clothes and I’ve got the fire on ready and some hot chocolate with your name on it. Hayden, give the girl some privacy!” “Yes, mother!” Hayden stood up and took the clothes from his mom. He passed me a bundle of clothes and took another for himself and got dressed. I turned around and pulled the jumper and pants on. “Hayden, her shoes are soaking wet, be a dear and carry her back to the house so she doesn’t stand on anything sharp.” She smiled at me and I instantly recognized her smile as the same smile as Hayden’s. She was truly beautiful, with emerald green eyes and beautiful light brown hair. When she looked at me, I saw her eyes glisten with unshed tears. Hayden walked over and swept me up into his arms. My head rested against his chest and it felt like I had finally found home. We walked in silence. The only sound was the crunching of dry leaves under our feet. The forest was starting to get thinner when I looked up at a beautiful house that stood in front of us. It was white with flower beds around the bottom of the large windows. It looked like a small castle from a fairytale. It had a small tower that stood out above the rest of the house. A balcony wrapped around the tower and I could see chairs on the balcony. I bet it was nice to sit out on that and watch the world move by. Hayden’s mother opened a large glass door, and he followed her in, placing me down on a fur blanket in front of a roaring fire. An older lady walked in with a tray and set it down beside me. She bowed to Hayden and his mom and walked out. That was weird. I wonder if they’re royalty or something his mother does have an English accent. That’s the only thing that would make sense. After I had warmed up and finished the drink, which was completely out of this world by the way, Hayden took me up to his room. He asked if I would stay the night so that he knew I was ok and like the true gentleman he is, he offered to stay in a different room. I had to call Milo so he wouldn’t worry, but my phone got wet when I fell into the lake. Hayden passed me a cordless house phone so I could call him and left me in the room. “Hey Milo, I had a small accident and I’m staying at Hayden’s tonight.” “What! What do you mean you had a small accident and what do you mean by your staying at Hayden’s?” “Relax, he’s in a different room and I slipped into some water and Hayden had to jump in to get me out. It’s not a big deal.” “What the fück Amelia? Are you ok?” “Yes, I still feel a little cold, but I’m ok. I’m tired, so I’m going to get some sleep. I love you, Milo.” “Yeah yeah yeah whatever. I’ll see you tomorrow.” With that, he hung up. He sounded really píssed with me. ••• KNOCK KNOCK “Come in!” I shouted. Hayden walked in with a tray full of food and my mouth watered. I hadn’t realized how hungry I was. “I thought you might like something to eat?” He looked so cute and adorable. I can’t help myself from falling more and more for him. I know this will only end in heartbreak, but I can’t fight this pull I feel with him. It’s like a string is connecting us together and if my heart gets broken, it’s better to have loved and all that. “Thank you. I’m famished. Are you joining me?” He smiled at me and sat down beside me on the bed. His room was huge. It had white walls with navy blue wooden panels along the bottom. A large double glass door that looked like it had a balcony outside. I couldn’t be sure though because it’s dark outside now. Sofas were placed near the doors with a coffee table in the center. “Does your mom live here with you?” I asked him. “No, she lives in a house in the town with my father and younger sister.” “So you live in this big house on your own,” I felt sorry for him being by himself. He must get so lonely. “No, I have friends who live here with me. How are you feeling now” he brushed his hand along my face and I felt myself lean into his touch. “Much better… Can I ask you for something? I have work tomorrow and no way of getting home, and I’m not sure where we are. Could you drop me off at home in the morning or order me a cab?” He chuckled at me and nodded his head. “Of course you really enjoy your work?” His hand was resting on my lower back, my stomach fluttering from the contact. “Yes, I do.” “I’ll be here at 7 am to take you then.” “Oh, are you leaving now?” I was disappointed at the thought of him leaving me. I’ve only known him for 4 days and I was already going crazy over him. “No, I will stay for as long as you want me to.” “Thank you. I’m a little tired. Would you stay with me until I fall asleep? I have trouble sleeping in strange places.” I looked up at him, realizing what I had said. “I don’t mean your home is strange. It’s just I’ve never been here before, so it’s new.” “It’s ok I’ll stay.” He stood up and held his hand out to me to help me stand up. He walked me over to the bed and pulled the cover back, and I climbed into his bed. He pulled the cover up to my chin and leaned down to kiss my forehead goodnight. “Goodnight Amelia.” He whispered, my name rolling off his tongue like it was the most exquisite thing in the world. I closed my eyes and drifted off to a sleep filled with Hayden. ***A/N*** If you want updates about my books, then please follow me on Dreame so you get a notification when I update xoxo Also, add me on face book.
