“I’ve had cancer,” the Elder said. “My body beat it. To be a vampire, right?”
“Indeed. Anyway, she and I are working together, and we need to get this guy.”

“You know the rest of the Elders don’t tell me anything, Isaac. They haven’t since I—”
“I know,” Isaac interjected. “I didn’t want that to happen.”
