Stay The Night

3074 Words
August's P.O.V "So, August, are you going to stay the night?" the chicken inside my mouth fell onto my plate. I was too shocked.  I look at Mr. Wilson and then to Rafaela. Rafaela was too amused at me dropping my food and didn't get the hint. Does she expect me to say 'yes' or 'no'? What was I supposed to say? "Uh, no, I just, uh," I suddenly feel dizzy, unsure of what to make of this situation.  "Awe, you can totally stay the night."  "Ah, no, this is already enough. Thank you for the dinner."  "I'll call Mine for you." I couldn't possibly decline again.  "Uh, okay, sure."  I just really hope Mine won't say 'yes'.  "I'll let her stay the night! Make sure she's fed! She gets cranky when she's hungry!" was what Mine said and now I'm here, receiving pajamas.  "Are you okay with these?"  They were more than okay. They were comfortable and warm. The perfect contrast for this cold night. But I'm used to just adjust the temperature the way how I like it though, but this is okay too.  "Yes, thank you." she giggles and sits on the edge of her bed.  "I should be thanking you,"  "Why? I'm just a visitor."  "It feels like my father is happy. I mean, really." I sit beside her, but of course, with space between us. I made sure we're not touching, because I don't know what will happen if we do touch. I think I'll probably r**e this beauty.  "What's the real reason why you invited me here, Rafaela?"  "You got me," she chuckles again and turns to me. Her gentle smile reaching my soul.  "You asked me about gods and goddesses and thought that maybe dad will finally meet someone who has the same ideals as him."  "Ah, right."  I thought she really wanted me to meet her father. I was probably going to think that I should meet the parents first before dating the beauty of the lifetime. But there is something about her father that I wish to know more about and in order for me to obtain the knowledge that I seek to find, I should visit here more often, behind Rafaela's back or not.  "Thank you," she says again, this time, her voice soft and her eyes, sincere.  "So, why don't you believe in gods and goddesses if your father is an avid fan of them?"  "I don't know? I just haven't seen one? Or even met one?" I chuckle.  "Well, if it helps, you're more likely to encounter them in real life." she bursts out laughing.  "Really? That's bull," I was astounded by her cursing, like even though it was crap she was talking about, it was still beautiful to me.  "Really! You should ask Mr. Wilson if he ever encountered one."  "Fine, fine, but you should really take a shower and then we can cuddle to sleep." Cuddle? What? Cuddle? How am I going to sleep if we're going to cuddle? There's school tomorrow! I'm already distracted as I was, and now she's going to make me insane! Does this woman not feel my anguish when I'm with her? My thirst for her love to be directed towards me? Is this woman so dense that she'd let her guard down when she's with me? A new friend, a new stranger-friend. "Okay, I'll take a bath now."  "Yeah, go! I was done ages ago." I nod and did went.  I submerged my entire body underneath the water. Believe or not, I can breathe under water. This trait or skill, I learned it from my Uncle Poseidon. He taught me a lot of tricks when I visited him in his kingdom. That was the first time that I ever get to mate with a mermaid and other water beings.  "I should calm down." I said underwater.  I give myself one last reminder and then got out of the water. I look more troubled than I did before I took a bath. I slap myself on both cheeks and inhaled. I got the water off of my body, that's one of the tricks Uncle Poseidon taught me, and then put on the comfortable pajamas Rafaela lent me.  They were just the right size for me, except for the breasts, I guess. I had average breasts, because that's how I like my own breasts. It wasn't heavy nor too flat. Only girls will understand.  I got out of the bathroom and I was welcomed into the room again by a chilling Rafaela. She was laying on her stomach, her feet going back and forth, and her eyes glued to her phone. I gulped before gently sitting at the most edge of the bed, where I'm the farthest from her.  "Why are you there? Come here, it's cold." she grabs my arm and pulls me under the cover.  My body collided next to her and I feel our arms brushing together. It was the most surreal feeling I ever felt. Like, like my soul immediately levitated upon contact.  "What are you doing?" I try to make a conversation, so that I won't be reminded that it's only us, in a room, on top of a bed, at night, and inside a room dim-lighted.  My heart was beating frantically. We were so close and I could smell her even more now. This all felt like a dream, where I can totally do anything stupid but I know I shouldn't and therefore I won't. This ain't a dream. She's just too innocent, so brazen that it's me.  "Just scrolling through messages."  "Messages?" she turns her phone to me.  There were tons of unread messages. If I remember correctly, they were from everyone in school.  "Whoa. Those are a lot." I commented. It's like, a student has to have one message in her inbox.  "Yeah," she says, her tone a bit down.  "You okay?" I ask her, and I'm obviously concerned as more than a friend.  "Yep, more than okay. Should we sleep?"  Her sudden change of topic is telling me otherwise. But forcing won't get me anywhere, in fact, that would make her push me away farther.  "Yes, yes we should since we have school tomorrow and we obviously need to grow." she giggles before poking my nose lightly.  AHHH, why can't this woman make me relax? Other crushes or lovers make your relax and be comfortable, while I just stiffen up and BE A NERVOUS-WRECK.  "You're just an inch taller than me, don't get cocky."  "But I have no cock." she laughs. It was music to my ears, so melodic, so gentle and so, so beautiful.  "You're right. But you don't need one of those. You rock as you are right now."  Can someone please tell me what she's trying to say? It's so hard to understand human. Maybe it's because I'm a newbie in here? In the human world? Yes, that's probably it. I just need to research more on different personalities, different personas, and different kinds.  "Yah, I rock." she yawns and settles under the covers.  "Can I snuggle closer?" she asks, and yawned after.  "Uh, sure, sure."  She didn't hesitate and snuggled close to me. I shifted so that we won't have body sore tomorrow. She hugs me while I stare at the ceiling. Our bodies melted in each other's embrace. The night was quiet and she was sleeping peacefully. Seconds pass by me and I can't help but fall deeper in love with her.  I turn my head to her. Her mouth was slightly agape, her hair was tossed a bit at the end but they were still beautiful. Her eyebrows were thick and beautiful. She was so peaceful. I graze my fingertip on her jaw, tracing her perfectness. She looked like she was sculpted.  Ah, crap. My eyes fell on her lips and it took everything on me to look the other way and not do anything. I scolded myself for not falling asleep. I was surprised to see the sun seeping through the window. The dim sunlight managed to peak through the window and came in contact with my eyes.  I felt my eyelids falling, and my consciousness fading away.  "August! August, wake up! Or we'll be late!"  I jolted up awake, standing and all. I look behind me, a shocked Rafaela. She looked so fresh while I look so groggy and crappy.  "Uh, good morning?" I greeted her, unsure.  "You do gymnasts?" I shake my head.  "I practiced while sparring?" her eyebrows went straight up, confused.  "Ah, I meant, Mine and I always do things like this. Yeah,"  "You must still be pretty sleepy."  I collapse on her bed, my eyes threatening to close.  "Wait, noooo. Wake up!" she drags me out of the bed.  I fell onto the cold floor and let her drag me to the stairs so that we can eat breakfast. I didn't bother getting up though, even though there were stairs.  "You're going to get injured, August," she warns me but I just groaned, enjoying this.  I heard her father scream and thuds approaching to where we were.  "Oh my goodness. Did something happen?" Mr. Wilson asks, completely worried.  "She didn't want to get up and I don't want to be late." I chuckled before slowly standing up.  "You're pretty strong."  "Hah," she rolls her eyes and went to the table, started eating.  Mr. Wilson shakes his head and asked me to come eat with them. We ate silently and healthily. After we ate, Rafaela brought me clothes to change into.  "Are you sure though? I can just use my clothes from yesterday?" "They'd think you left your house."  "Oh,"  I had no other choice but to oblige. After we changed our clothes, Mr. Wilson saw us to the door.  "Have a nice day, girls!"  "Thank you for having me over, Mr. Wilson!"  "Bye, Dad!" Rafaela and I wave at her father.  We walk towards school. I was a little early than my usual time because her house were far from the school and she didn't want to waste gasoline.  "I like to walk,"  "I can tell." I chuckle.  "But can you tell why?"  "Hmm?" she smiles at me before taking a sharp turn.  "Good morning, Mrs. Dwayne!"  "Good morning, dear! As chirpy as ever!"  Rafaela went to the old lady and pets the cat that was next to the lady. The cat meows, to which I understand clearly.  "You may be a deity, but hurt her and I'll hurt you myself."  You see, animals know the deities, and that's because we take their forms. It was on legal circumstances and communication that we had this agreement.  "Aw, he seems to be more lovely than usual." Rafaela coos and pets the cat even more. He purrs and smiles with his eyes.  "Who's this pretty lady behind you, dear? A girlfriend perhaps?" the old lady chuckles while Rafaela turns to me and gives me a grin.  "Yes, she's my girlfriend."  "My, my, what a beautiful couple! Don't date men, they're atrocious!" the old lady says with her full might.  "I know, that's why I have a girlfriend. Her name's August."  I step up and gives a smile to the old lady and slowly pets the cat. He eyes me suspiciously before letting me pet him.  "Lovely!"  Rafaela waves goodbye and went unto the next neighbor. She was so friendly. She possibly can't know everyone in her neighborhood, right? I mean, nobody is that likeable, right? Right?  But I was wrong. Because of how small and how friendly Rafaela was, every house that we passed by, she greeted them with sincerity plastered on her face. I was more amazed than shocked, really. Was this the reason why I was so attracted to her? No, it wasn't because of this. As much as I hate to admit it, it was because she was beautiful and then her personality came next.  But I didn't like her just because of her looks, it was because of the energy surrounding her. It was so pure that not even gods nor goddesses have them. Believe or not, most gods and goddesses harbor hatred or mischiefs in them than humans.  As we approach the school, we were bumping into students.  "Good morning, Rafaela!" "Good morning!" "Hey!" "What's up?"  "Yo,"  Did they change? I didn't hear them saying that to me? Or is it because I was with Rafaela?  "Good morning! Wassup," she greets them back with the same energy and even high fived some students.  "Overwhelmed?" she teases when I remained silent.  "Shocked. Who knew they could talk."  "They're overwhelmed by yours and Mine's presence so yeah. But really, you're the talk of the school."  "Psh, I can't see that."  I grab her hand so that she won't bump into someone. The student says 'whoa' before uttering a 'sorry'.  "You really have great reflexes, you know that?" I could see the fascination in her eyes.  "Thanks, I try." she shakes her head with a chuckle.  "That's the second time you've saved me."  "I could save you again and again and I won't even get tired of it." I murmured under my breath.  "Hmm? What did you say?"  "Ah, nothing nothing. Just searching for Mine."  "She's already probably at your first subject?"  "Alright. Then I'll see you soon."  "Sure! Later," she waves her hand at me.  I reluctantly went to the opposite direction. I had the urge to turn back and escort her to her first subject but that would be weird, right? I mean, we're just friends so why would I? She'll think that I'm being creepy and clingy. I don't want her to think of me like that! I must maintain my dignity at all costs.  I enter the room and flopped on my chair, slammed my face on the desk. Not literally but you get the point. I sighed loudly, loud enough that the birds could hear me.  "Why the loud sigh?" Mine asks from behind me.  "Rafaela," was all I could manage to say. So early yet I'm already drained.  "But you slept at her place last night. Isn't that supposed to make you go crazy?"  She has a point but that's not exactly what happened.  "I don't think I can make her see me as more than just a friend."  "Huh. Well, I've never heard this before either. It's either the women come to you, or the women kneel to you."  "Olympus isn't the human world, Mine."  "Yes, it isn't but you're still as beautiful or handsome as you were at Olympus."  "But I have no status." she clicks her tongue, getting my point.  "You're right. I forgot about that. Damn. But I doubt Rafaela cares about status?"  I try to think about it. Does she not? Will she see me as someone fragile if I tell her that I'm of royalty? No, no. That's- no. I'd rather not. I am keeping my word with father. He didn't really say that I can't tell her but I'm taking it up a notch.  "Humans are hard."  "You're right, and you just picked the most out of all."  I groaned.  "So, what happened last night?"  I told her everything, even this morning when she dragged me down the stairs. The whole time I was story telling to Mine, I was smiling and I can't seem to wipe it off of my face. I remember her warmth, her embrace and our closeness. I just wish she'd see me more as a friend.  This must be the boundary that I must cross as two women being more and having a more intimate relationship.  "Your Hi-"  "EHEM," I cleared my throat, loud so that the others won't hear us. She sits upright and closes in on me.  "That's absurd! She must be punished right away!" she hisses under her breath.  "Punish her and I'll punish you."  I look down at Mine, intimidating her. She sighs and nods.  "But still, that's, that's too much. Dragging you down across the chair?"  "It didn't really hurt. Of course I prepared my butt before the action."  "You floated?" she asks in a high-pitched voice. "I did, but not too much for her to think that I'm light."  "But there's also one thing on my mind."  We were thinking the same thing.  "The father?" I ask her.  "Yeah. Isn't he a bit suspicious?"  "I have to talk about father about this too."  "You're going to Olympus?" I nod.  "Yes, but I won't be long."  "When? Can I come?" I shake my head. "You need to renovate the house, remember?"  She pouts. She didn't want to stay here in the human world alone, but I was above her and she has to do as I say, even though we're blood related.  "Fine," she says begrudgingly.  "Mine,"  "Yes?" "How come Rafaela is so known?"  "Weeeell," she slouches on her chair and crosses her arms.  "Everyone knows her."  "And how exactly does that sum up to everyone liking her?"  "She's Rafaela f*****g Wilson. She's loved by everybody because of her endearing personality and her bubbly approach."  "Was the word really necessary?"  "Yes, because that's how others say it too."  "What do you mean others?"  "Others? Earl and Sarah?" "You can call them your friends, you know." I pointed out.  "Isn't that a bit too much? What if they don't consider me as one?" I shake my head in disbelief.  "You've talked already. You should know."  She sighs and nods.  "You're right. I can't believe mother would assume it was every human that are bad."  "You should learn for yourself."  "I'm going to find out everything that mother said." I pat her back.  "We need to get back to my question."  "Right. Uh, if I remember correctly, Rafaela and the other two were close to everyone but has no specific group to get back to. Rafaela was the school's muse then. Everyone liked her, because she had the looks and the personality. The other two were the same too, but the focus was more on Rafaela then."  "Ooooh, nice start." she did a courtesy and smiled.  "I guess the three of them were fed up that they weren't close with the others and reached out to each other. Boom, the trio arose amidst the foggy, misty place of Boulevard."  I shake my head in disbelief.  "You ended it badly. Nice try though."  "Gee, thanks."
