August's P.O.V "Good morning, everyone. So today, our topic is all about the history of how our flag came to be..." the voice of the teacher decreases as I start to daydream again about Rafaela.  Her golden hair and those pale white skin. Her thin lips curved upward as we talked. Her voice was so melodic, like she was singing me to sleep. It's been three days and I can't stop thinking about her. She's like a magnet, pulling me with me having no choice but to oblige and let myself get fooled.  Today, we were going to hang out, just the two of us! Should I give her anything? What are we going to talk about? She told me that she wanted me to see something. I can't help but feel nervous and excited. Will I screw this up? Wait, what if she finally sees me as a potential candidate for a partner? She said that she was sexually active. Does that mean we were going somewhere to have s*x?  Wait, no. That sounds wrong. Just from the two days I've met her, I can proudly say that she's not like that. She's elegant and at the same time goofy. She wouldn't have s*x in an instant, right? Right? Urgh, why am I second guessing myself.  I noticed my confidence was slowly depleting and she makes me doubt things. Is that good? Ugh, whatever. Just, let's just see this to the end. But there shouldn't be any end. Ah, f**k it. This is what I meant.  "Class dismissed." The class has already ended and I still haven't learned anything. Rafaela occupied my mind the entire duration of school. I'm not saying I dislike it, it just makes me feel like a rebel.  "Not paying attention in class, huh." Mine shakes her head in disapproval of my current attitude towards school, or even just anything without Rafaela. "Nope, and I'm not even ashamed about it." I huffed and grabbed myself.  I showed myself out of the classroom. Mine followed behind me, still disapproving my behavior. I can't do anything about it! I mean, she captured me whole. I don't know what to do anymore.  "Hey!" I felt a top on my back.  I know who it was. Just from the scent and from the voice, I knew it was her. My heart started pumping rapidly again. Suddenly, the world was colorful again. I inhaled softly and turned around to greet Rafaela with the biggest smile I could muster.  "Hey, Rafaela."  Gosh, why is her name so beautiful and her? Surely, the heavens has blessed her.  "Hi, Mine," she pronounced it like I do, which made me smile even wider. My cheeks hurt but she just makes me so happy.  "Really?" Mine asks. Rafaela giggles at Mine's retortive comment.  "Yep, I figured I want to be lazy with your name too." "Alright, then I'll just leave you two. Have fun."  Mine waves at us goodbye. Rafaela turns to me and grabs my hand.  "Wow, your hand is slender." she compliments as she examines my hand further. I got flustered and cleared my throat. "Should we go?"  Ah, her touch is making me feel all tingly. I feel ticklish and giddy, just from us holding hands. The other students stared at us again. I can never get used to this. The attention in Olympus was enough but I'm sure it was because Zeus is my father. The attention I'm getting right now is something that I don't want to know the reason behind.  "Everyone's looking at us," she giggles again and raised our hands up in the air.  "What? Whyyyy?" I whined, not really giving it much effort to stop her.  "They're jealous." she laughs again and started pulling me to the exit of the school.  "Jealous? Because I'm holding your hand?"  I knew it! I'm not the only one that finds her beautiful and smart and funny, and could be my everything! She's too loveable to be even considered to put aside or a substitute. I should up my game. I won't let anyone else have her. "What? Pfft, no. Because I'M holding your hand." she emphasized.  "What about it?"  "You really don't know?" I shake my head, not getting what she was hinting at.  "You're beautiful, the new girl, with the most beautiful eyes. Everyone would want to get close to you."  "Oh,"  I hadn't really thought of that. Rafaela was on my mind 25/7 to even consider that. Yes, I'm too busy. Sue me.  "Get it?"  "Nope," I jokingly said, popping the 'p'.  "I just wonder why they won't approach you. You're friendly already. You're easy to get along with. I wonder what's keeping them from befriending you." I wonder too. I need new friends as well. I need to be loved so that they can support me in courting Rafaela. I need a human friend.  "Why don't you ask them?" I giggle.  "They don't even talk to us three."  "You know why?" she shakes her head before shrugging her shoulders.  "Okay. So, where are you taking me? Are you afraid I might run away?" I indicated the holding of our hands.  "Hmm, I'm afraid you might run to someone else." she winks at me, catching me off guard.  I stopped breathing for a second and she laughed it off.  "I'm joking. My father saw you yesterday and scolded me why I didn't invite you in and stayed the night. So, he told me to let you meet him and apologize for my stead."  Oh, her father. HER FATHER? Do I look okay? I'm not messy, am I? Should I excuse myself and comb my hair? Perfume? Ah, crap. I don't have those. What should I do? I didn't bring anything! What to do?  "Why are you panicking? Relax. It's just my dad."  "I need to be ready. I need to look decent in front of your father." I hyperventilated.  "Dad gets impressed easily. Don't worry too much."  I nod, seemingly convinced. We we neared her house, she turns to me and gives me a bright yet gentle smile. She intertwined our fingers, making me relax.  "I'll back you up if something's wrong."  "What do you mean? Is there going to be a problem?" the nervousness came back.  "Uhm, my dad is a bit weird. So, yeah." she smiles sheepishly and turned her back against me.  She lets go of my hand and leaped to their gate, opened it wide for me to get inside. Once I passed the gate, she closes it and we enter their front yard. It was spacious and massive. I look around while she guides me to the front door. Somehow, the decors reminds me of Olympus. Porcelain, some statues that I don't recognize who it was and a small pond.  "Dad! We're here," Rafaela shouts so that her Dad can hear from the inside.  I heard some loud thuds before the door opened, revealing a very tall and lean man, well-dressed and a little messy. He must've fell. That must be him. I giggled. He looks at me, amazed, or more like, in shock. Rafaela shakes her head.  "Come in, come in." her father says and we come in.  "Thank you,"  "I'll get you some refreshments." Rafaela gives me a thumbs up before disappearing.  "Sir-" "I am deeply sorry for my daughter's actions, Your Highness." He bowed down, head on the floor and his eyes shut tight. My stomach churned at the sudden mention of 'your highness. I refused to believe it but I wanted to make sure I didn't hear it wrong.  "What did you say?"  "My daughter doesn't know who you are so she doesn't realize what she did yesterday. I am so sorry, Your Highness. I promise I will scold her and educate her thoroughly."  I sighed.  "So you know who I am?"  "I knew it when I saw your eyes."  Crap. It's my eyes again.  "Can you please sit properly? Your daughter might think of something weird."  "Yes, Your Highness."  He sits idly at the opposite side of me.  "Pardon me for asking, but who are you?"  "I was one of Zeus' friends when he stayed here in the human world."  "Father's friend?"  "Yes. In exchanged for my loyalty and service to him, he promoted me and now I'm his friend."  I didn't know of this. I need to ask father about this. Did he sent this man here? No. Our meeting is a coincidence. I bet this coincidence has made father smile up in heaven.  "What kind of service?"  "Your father wanted to experience the human world first-hand. We went to the same school and I did all of his paperwork for him. He gave me fortune and a loving family." he smiles as he remembers their past. "Ah, alright. Can you not call me 'Your Highness'? I want to start anew."  "Then what might I call you, uh,"  "August."  He gits the meaning behind my name and smiles.  "Just, just 'August'?" I nod and smiled.  "Please treat me like Rafaela's friends."  "That's absurd, You- August."  This was going to be hard.  "Alright. I want to tell you something."  "What is it, August?"  "I want to make Rafaela mine."  "Of course-"  "But I want to do it in my own terms."  He stopped and thought about it. He looks at his palms, probably weighing and analyzing what I had just said. When he found the answer he was looking for, he looks at me straight in the eyes.  "Then can I ask you something, August?"  "Sure, what is it, Mr. Wilson?"  "Why Rafaela? You are the Prince of Olympus. You can have any offspring of any god or goddess that you want. With might and power. Why Rafaela? A human."  Why, indeed. I've asked myself about this countless of times. Why am I settling for a human when I already have everything?  "She's not just any human. She's Rafaela. She's, I can't describe it. She has more than what others and other deities can offer."  "What can she offer you, Prince? Her life?"  I chuckled.  "Her heart. Deities put power, might, s*x and fame first before love. In Olympus, you can have anyone but anyone can also have what you have."  "I see."  Mr. Wilson smiles at me before standing up. Just then, Rafaela came with two glasses of orange juice.  "What's with this atmosphere? Did you have a fight?" Rafaela jokes and sits beside me.  She gives me the orange juice then put the other glass on the table for her father to reach out.  "I still need to scold you, dear. Don't forget." Mr. Wilson gave a frightening smile to his daughter, making Rafaela nod jokingly.  "Yeah, yeah."  Mr. Wilson grabs the glass.  "Stay for dinner, August. Please,"  "Thank you, Mr. Wilson!" he nods at me and walks away.  When he was out of sight, Rafaela turned to me and searched my eyes. I avoided her gaze and drank the orange juice.  "I put some love potion in that." I stopped drinking, stopped breathing, then put the glass down.  She bursts out laughing and stands up.  "You want to come to my room?"  "Ah, uh, yeah, yeah." I put the glass down and tried to calm my nerves down.  She hums and walks. I followed behind her and listened to her soft humming. She was humming a song that I don't know of. It had a nice melody. I think it's a love song.  "Come," she opens the door and lets me in first.  I look around her room, full of neon lights. I mean, not full but yeah, enough to make you think it was a lot. It was colorful and the room was dimly lit. It was nice to look at. The light didn't hurt my eyes. Her room isn't messy and she's very well kept.  "Nice room."  "Can I come by your house next time?"  "My, uh, my house?"  My apartment was nowhere near hers in terms of quality. I feel kind of embarrassed. The very moment I get home, I need to tell Mine about this problem that I found out.  "Yeah, I want to come by yours next."  "Oh, sure, yeah, that's fine." the doubt in my voice was evident but I managed to hide it well that she didn't notice it.  "Nice. Let's chill here while waiting for dinner."  She jumps on her bed and patted the space next to her. I gulped. Am I emotionally ready for this? I slowly walk towards her and lay next to her, giving some space.  "You're going to fall," she says and pulls me next to her.  My eyes were wide. The closeness, her scent, a bed, her room, dimly lit. Ah, crap. It's been a week since I've had s*x, so of course this was going to get to me. This was one of the cons on my list. I'd have less s*x and I don't know when I'm going to get some soon. In Olympus, with just one flick of a finger, women would crawl their way to me.  "Uh, thanks," she giggles again.  "Hey, August."  "Yes?"  "You live with Mine, right?" she asks, pronouncing Mine's name properly this time.  "Yes, why?"  "Are you related, or something?"  "Yes? She's my nephew? Uh, cousin? No, uhm, niece?"  "Which is it?" she laughs and turns her head towards me.  I couldn't look back at her, because if I did, I wouldn't be so sure if I can stop myself from kissing her and having my way with her. I'd happily bury my head in those breasts, even legs, if permitted.  "Just blood-related is all."  My head was messed up again. My head was spinning and I'm short of breath.  "Ah, got it. So tell me, what made you move here?"  "I wanted to get out of theee city..?" I should answer like it's the truth or she'll doubt me and never let me do things with her. Wholesome things, not naughty things. But that too if she wants.  "Okay? Do you like anyone at the moment?"  Crap. Crap. Crap. Is she telling me to confess right now? Won't that cause an internal turmoil inside me? We're in a room, on top of a bed! "I'm new here, I haven't met that much people yet."  I chickened out.  "Hmm, valid answer."  "Do you?"  "Yes, actually."  Maybe chickening out was the best answer.  "Can I ask who?" she giggles.  "Nope, until I'm ready. Man, high school crushes are the best." my brows knitted together.  "Why is it the best?"  "Because it's still free, young and adventurous."  "Do you not want to date to marry?" she thinks about it for a second.  I shouldn't ask anymore if I want to save my heart from breaking into a million pieces.  "You're right, but I'm still young. Plus, loving isn't always that easy."  Yeah, Loving isn't that easy.  "Will you tell me someday then?"  "If you have someone in your mind and you tell me, I'll tell you."  "Fair trade. Deal."  She hums again as we're out of topic.  "Can I ask where your mother is?"  "Oh, she's out for the week. She flew to my grandparents' house. There was something, she said."  I wonder if Rafaela's mom knows about me too. Father was here before and blessed them him with a loving family. Was the secret then told?  "Ah,"  "How about yours?" "Oh,"  Think, think!  "They wanted me to be independent so they sent me alone, then Mine's parents did the same to let us get wiser by ourselves."  "Wow. Isn't living alone hard?" I shake my head.  "I like it, really. The new normal, the new people, the new setup. Everything that I now know is making me happy."  "That's good to hear. At first I thought you regretted moving here."  That statement made me turn to her and she was still staring at me so our eyes met and our nose almost touching. I didn't dare blink nor breath. She didn't move away too. She just stared at me like she was searching for something hidden in my eyes.  "Why?" I ask, forcing my eyes to not look at her lips because that would make her feel uncomfortable.  She wouldn't talk to me again if I were to kiss here right here and now. She wouldn't look at me the same if I don't hold myself back. That's more painful than actually knowing she likes someone else.  "You were probably popular from your old place and seeing that no one wanted to talk to you here, you must've felt slightly irritated." she answers without breaking eye contact.  I slowly breathe in. Her scent infiltrated my nose. She smelled divine. Was it her natural odor or was it artificial? If I ask, would that be awkward?  "Ah, no, not really."  I snapped out of my trance and looked at the ceiling, not minding her eyes, or her stare, or her presence.  "You have me, Sarah and Earl anyway. You can tell us anything or ask for help if you want."  "Thanks," "Can I ask you what you asked me yesterday?"  "Yesterday?"  "Are you sexually active?"  I almost choked at my own saliva. She was getting back at me. I know because of the grin on her lips. I shake my head in amusement.  "Do you usually fire back the questions shot at you?" she shrugs.  The bed shuffles a bit as she shifts and turned her whole body towards me. I could see her cleavage from my peripheral vision. They were huge. Ah, I want to suck them.  "Yes, I'm sexually active, young lady." I jokingly said through gritted teeth.  She's definitely testing me.  "Have you been in a relationship before?"  "No, not really." she hums.  "Which do you prefer, a man or a woman?"  "That wasn't me. That was Mine's question."  "Shush. I want to know too. The world is diverse and free so I want to know too." she giggles.  "I like women." she gasps loudly, in a joking manner.  "So, do you like me?"  "Whaaat?" I covered my nervousness behind a not so convincing laugh.  "I'm joking. So, you like pussies."  I sat up.  "Please don't say it like that." she laughs loudly, I mean real loud.  "You get so easily flustered." I roll my eyes.  "I know."  "Dinner should be ready. Let's go."
