RIA’S POV

I remained still as he closed the distance between us, gazing into my eyes while I desperately thought about how on earth I was to escape being caught in front of everyone. I swallowed the lump in my throat at the sight of it.

His scent filtered through my nostrils as he approached me, but I resisted the urge to breathe deeply, to fill my lungs with…

“The ceremony for tonight is over!” Alpha Zade yelled, cutting me off from my thoughts as the music in the background suddenly stopped with all eyes in the ballroom now glued on us.

“I've found her,” Alpha Zade stated, calling the attention of everyone in the room, standing right in front of me.

I was plunged into a world of confusion almost instantly as I stood staring back at him. A lot swirled through my head as I stood frozen on a spot. Trying to figure out why he was suddenly in my direction.

“What's going on?” I demanded, breathing hard as I stared at him. I clutched the tray in one hand while I cautiously peered around the guards and other guests now staring at me.

“Found her?” I asked, wanting to be sure I had heard him correctly. But then he gave no response and instead grabbed me by the hand as he had me led down to a hallway leaving the crowd behind.

The door swung open from behind us afterward as I turned to find the Beta who I’d bumped into earlier, walking in. I had my face lowered to the floor trying to hide my eyes from him. Knowing now that he could recognize me almost anywhere.

“You called the ceremony off Alpha?” The Beta asked.

“Is there a problem, we haven’t even started yet,” He continued.

“Seal the gates shut, I’ve had enough for today,” Alpha Zade responded, moving towards me as he grabbed me by the hand just like earlier.

My heart pounded heavily in my chest as I tried wrenching free from his grip. For some reason I had thought of this to be a way for him to get rid of me, knowing I was some sort of an intruder amid his guests.

“f**k!” I muttered under my breath.

Instantly, he had a door pushed open letting me in.

“Sit!” His deep baritone ordered and without any hesitation I did, realizing he had me taken up to his bedroom.

I gulped nervously, with my wolf howling excitedly in my head when I noticed a couple of seconds later that he had his shirt taken off. Right in front of me!!. I couldn’t help my eyes from traveling down the lines of his well-defined abs, as he turned to face me.

I looked away almost instantly when our eyes met, and for the first time that night, I had to confirm that he was indeed a fine, hot, gentleman. Damn, he’s fit!!…

“Hmmmm are you listening?” His deep baritone cuts through the voices in my head as I snapped back to reality, staring at him. I was losing my head seated across from him. I had allowed him to crawl and wedge himself inside my skin and now all I could think about was his scent from earlier.

“f*****g stop!!!” I scowled at my wolf as my eyes snapped up to find him staring at me.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

“Su…sure!” I responded, swallowing a lump in my throat, adjusting in my seat.

“Well,” He began.

“We both know exactly what it is that I want,” Alpha Zade said. For a minute I was confused on what he meant and so I just sat there in silence staring back at him.

“For you to be my Luna,” He continued.

The very minute he’d said that, my eyes widened in shock staring at him. A quizzical line forming on my brows from staring at him without a positive response as to what he meant.

I was more than confused and scared all at once, knowing whatever was about to happen was sure to ruin my plans with Carlos. Plus the fact that, even in all of this, Carlos was all in my head. I still loved him. Coupled with the fact that Zade was one to be feared amongst all other Alphas.

“I can’t do this,” I thought to myself as I came to the conclusion in my head not to accept whatever it was he was offering.

“I don’t mean to interrupt, but I can remember you’d said only those fit to be Luna would be Luna,” I responded, breaking the silence between us as I stared at him confidently.

His eyebrows shot up when I’d said that and then he perked up from the table he’d been leaning on a couple of minutes ago, walking towards me.

“Plus, I don’t think it would be of good favor to the people if you do and…” I blabbed and paused when I noticed him walking towards me, with a whole different look clearly written on his face as he approached me.

“Fine!” He cuts in instantly with an expression I couldn’t for some reason pinpoint, as I stayed put staring at him. A lot swirling through my mind in that instant.

“I was only pulling your legs anyway,” Alpha Sade said with an evil smirk, staring back at me.

“Plus I didn't want to sound like the Alpha who goes back on his word, but since we're both on same terms as it is, I say we call it a day,” He added.

Zade etched closer as he crouched to the floor in front of me, with his eyes locked on mine and a hand over my thighs a couple of seconds after. I swallowed nervously feeling his surprisingly soft touch on my skin as I backed away for a bit trying to focus.

But instead, he leaned forward and just as we both sat there in silence, Zade cupped my face pulling me closer. I gulped trying to hold in the slamming heart in my chest willing my crazily beating heart to slow down. But it didn't, instead, it got worse by the minute.

My eyes fluttered closed uncontrollably when his fingers came in contact with my bare skin underneath my dress. I gasped as I felt my wetness drip between my legs and slowly I opened my eyes and saw him, staring at me. His eyes gleamed with lust and desire.

Just suddenly, he smirked at me and then perked up to his feet walking away like he had done nothing to me.

“So unfair!” I mumbled under my breath as I took my gaze off him and then perked up to my feet instantly knowing things were slowly getting out of hand.

“I can't do this!” I muttered standing up to my feet in a hurry and in seconds I stormed out of his bedroom adjusting my dress, reminiscing on what had happened a while ago.

I’d been so lost in thoughts a while ago that I didn't notice a figure in front of me and unfortunately, I bumped into her.

“Watch it, fool!” She scowled at me as our bodies came in contact.

I looked up and realized I had bumped into Vivian, Zade’s girlfriend. Apparently I had been able to recognize her from the time Matthew had said a few words about them.

The nerve of him to have her and still be out there in search of a mate…Men!!!.

I hurried out into the hallway headed for Matthew knowing he’d be waiting at the spot we had both been a couple of hours ago. On getting there I’d found him leaning by the door with his hands shoved into the pockets of his pants waiting for me.

“He asked that I be his Luna!” I yelled through gritted teeth in anger as I approached him.

“Lower your voice,” He remarked, with his eyes roaming the surrounding area where we both were.

“Plus Zade isn't one to back down on his words, he’d come back for you so you’d have to take the test,” Matthew added.

“What test?” I asked.

“Of becoming his Luna,” He responded.

“You're going to have to fail the test, Ria,” Matthew said.

My eyebrows shot up when he said that as I tried to make it all make sense in my head.

“What's going on here?” A deep baritone called out from the entrance and just when our eyes snapped up to the door, we realized who it was.
