One day at a Time

Savanna Nicole was born in the spring to a mechanic and a teacher. She was the eldest of 3 daughters: Samantha was 22 months younger and the Susanne was 7 years younger. Savanna grew up in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. She enjoyed playing softball, beauty pageants, and crafting. Growing up life was not easy for the Roberts family. A mechanic by trade Lawson often worked in the local furniture factory to help support his wife Catherine and their daughters. Catherine was a devoted 4th grade teacher at the elementary school. Never a lot of extra money laying around but Lawson and Catherine always made sure their girls had what they needed and were able to do the after school activities they enjoyed. Savanna enjoyed spending time with her grandparents. They taught her a lot-from sewing, to cooking, to her love of baseball and softball. Savanna was a beautiful girl, never the skinny girl but she enjoyed the experience and friendships she gain from the area beauty pageants. Her and Maw (her grandmother) would make her dresses after school for the upcoming pageants. Savanna and Paw (her grandfather) loved watching baseball and cheering for the Atlanta Braves where she studied Chipper's techniques and became a star 3rd baseman for her championship softball team which is where she meet James-together all throughout middle school. James was the baby brother of the 2nd baseman on Savanna's softball team. Savanna and James spent a lot of time together but eventually grew apart. Savanna went on to finish high school in the top 10 of her class and go off for University.
