chapter 13

     "Ron'. Jules called,"pass the eggs".

   "Eggs coming right up".Ron answered.

  Ronald and Jules had fun last night and she got home pretty late so she had to stave off the making of brownies till this morning and Ron offered to help.None of her friends could come help her because they were assigned to other aspects of organizing the parties the SC was planning.Shannon was also helping her out and she was here because she and Jules were assigned to do drinks together.

  "Gus".Jules shrieked."Do not take another one of those brownies".

  "Why?",Gus asked lifting it to his mouth.

   "Why???..because you are not helping us do anything here and dis brownies are for this evening.

  "I helped you get the ingredients you ran out off from the store".Gus replied with an impish grin.

   "don't patronize me.I don't expect you to take another".Jules said as she took out a batch of brownies and put a fresh batch in the oven.

   ""I've got an idea",Shannon said. "Why don't we cut this one in different shapes?".

  "I was going to suggest thap" Ron chipped in."We can,can't we?" He asked looking at Jules.

  "Sure".

   "Hey Jules".Brian called as he walked up to her.."Nice homemade fruit punch".He added raising his paper cup.

   "Thanks",Jules said."The food is delicious too".

   "I really didn't think we could pull it off".Brian said again,taking a sip of his punch.

    "Its not the first event we've planned since we became members of the Students Council"

   "Yeah,but this one was tricky,there were problems in the beginning".

   "Yeah,good thing we had team spirit".Jules answered dryly.".

   "Jules,you are not your usual self,what's wrong?".Brian asked with a frown.

  "Nothing really".

  "Okay,if you say so.I hope we are not having any of this tomorrow?"Brian asked raising his cup.

  "No,tomorrow is cocktail,the event is pretty special".

  "Your famous brownies?".He asked looking at her squarely."They are fab,what's the secret?"

    "Not telling,but they would be there.I'm going to look for Ron".Jules said with a smile.

   "Okay,goodluck".Brian called after her.

    "Ladies and gentlemen".Max who was hosting the occasion boomed into the microphone.There was laughter in the crowd,this event was definitely not formal so there was no need for that.

   "We've come to the last part of this ceremony.We've had a couple of people come up here to tell us their unforgettable,most embarrassing,happy and awkward moment in. Willies High.Some even told us how they felt on their first day in Willies.We've played games,handed out awards to loads of people,danced and we've had a hearty laugh.This final award is going to the best couple.We put out names of nominees earlier and I'm going to announce the names of the couple with the highest vote".

   "Before I do that".Max continued after clearing his throat."I want everybody to give a huge round of applause to these guys.Without them,we wouldn't be having a fun party.Give it up for Jules,Brian,Katie..........

   "So Ron"Jules called as she got to here he was standing."Are you enjoying the party?".

    Lakin....Honorable meThere was laughter in the crowd.....Karan........Cameron

    "Yeah you?".

    "I have a headache,I just want to tell you I am leaving".Jules answered and added. "Tell my girlfriends too,I can't find them any where".

   "Nah.......you can't leave now,they've not even made the big announcement yet". Ron argued.

   "I already know the winners,I am on the committee".

   "Okay,let me take you home''. Ron said taking her haand.

   "No".Jules protested."Stay and enjoy the party.I will hitch a ride......its a small town".

    "Ok.I will pick you up at six tomorrow......you should have brought your car".

   "I know,goodnight."

   "She's leaving the party and she's alone". A Voice called.

  "Okay.makes stuff even easier,i'lld just offer her a ride".

  "Good,don't make any mistakes,this is my only chance".

   "Got it".

    Jules had just gotten to the end of the road when a black car pulled to a stop beside her.

  "Hey,need a ride???".The person in the car asked.

   "Yes but that's if you are going towards Dolphin,that's where I live".Jules answered.

   "I'm going that way,climb I'm".

  "Thank you". Jules said getting into the car..

   "You look tired,need a drink??"The person asked offering her a bottle of water.

   "Thanks".Jules said and downed the contents.

    Jules slowly opened her eyes,her head was hurting and she could not move,she ried opening her eyes but a cloth was tied around it,her feet were tied and her hands were tied behind her.

    The door opened ans someone walked in .

  "So you've finally woken up".

  "Who are you and why did you bring me here???".Jules asked.

  "All your life,you've always had what you wanted.boys at your beck and call,the perfect parents,had people scurry around to do what you wanted,but there is one thing you are not going to have".Pausing for effect the voice added,"The prom queen title".

  "Seriously?"Jules asked."You kidnapped me just so you could be prom queen?".   

    "Yes".The voice answered icily.

   Jules laughed a little and said."This is absurd,you don't kidnap people for something as trivial as prom queen title.My family and friends are going to be sick with worry".

   "Don't worry,that's been taken care of,I've spread word that you packed a bag and left town,everyone knew something was up with you yesterday.So they just assumed it was why you were so moody yesterday".

   "But how can you be so sure I would win?,people may not vote for me and my friends would never believe I packed a bag and ran out of town,they knoww how much I've been looking forward to this day".

   "I'm done talking.I need to start getting ready for prom".

   "Wait!!!,you can't leave me here,let me go and I would step down for you".

   "No,you stay here".

  "What says the time?".Jules asked.

  "Its seven minutes to five".

   "Geez.how long was I knocked out?".

  "More than seven hours".

   "What did you put in the water I drank?"

   "Something to make you sleep".
