Chapter 16

Kyra POV I had candles set up all over the place, surrounding the pond. Ethan had brought me here, saying that it was a perfect place to summon up our Goddess. I took a knife and slashed it across my palm, letting my blood drip into the pond. It usually wouldn't be this troublesome, because the Goddess usually senses that you want to speak and just pop on in. But for some reason, she wasn't having it today. "Moon Goddess, I ask you here. I need your help and guidance." I whispered. The wind seemed to carry my words up to the bright, glimmering, moon. Seconds later, a blinding light filled the candle-lit forest. "You called for me, child." She spoke. "Yes, Goddess, I did. I want to know how to free my mates from their curse. It only seems fair that I am given a chance at a normal life, be that with or without them. Don't you think?" I asked, trying to sound as polite as I possibly could. She laughed at me. Actually laughed.  "Child, do you think that they deserve a chance at redemption?" She asked seriously. I thought about it for a second before answering her. "I think that if they were given the opportunity, they would. They have shown a surprising amount of care for me. Besides what happened on my pack lands. Besides, everyone deserves a second chance." I felt confident in my answer. "Alright. They must seek forgiveness and receive it. Not only that, but they must truly learn to love and be loved. Not just possessive and caring. But loving. Do you understand this, Ethan?" She looked at Ethan when she said the last part.  He nodded, "Yes, I understand. It is up to us to learn to love our mate. The mate that hates us and she has to in turn learn to love and forgive us. Makes total sense. Thank you for your most valuable time. Please, return to whatever holy realm you flew in from." He scolded and took off back towards the road. I bowed my head respectfully and ran off to find him before he decided to leave me behind.  I found him sitting in the car waiting for me. He had his arms folded on the steering wheel with his face laid on top. I climbed into the passenger seat without a word and he started the car. "Hey...are you okay?" I asked him after a few moments of uncomfortable silence. "HA! Okay? Are you dense?-No, sorry, I shouldn't have said that. No I'm not okay. We need to find my brother. So that you can tell him what happened." "What about you?" I asked. "I am most likely going to lock myself in my bedroom and drown myself in whiskey." He said.  The ride back to the castle was silent. I must have fallen asleep in the car because when I woke up, I was back in my room.  Someone had taken the time to pull my shoes off and tuck me in? I shook my head and got out of the bed. I needed to find Aiden and tell him what was going on. I changed into some shorts and a crop tank top before I started looking all over.  Where the hell are they? I had just walked past the front door when I decided that I needed to look out there. It was more like I felt the urge to go out there. Like there was something that I needed to see out there. I went outside and to say that I was shocked is an understatement. Ethan and Aiden were in their wolf forms fighting off what had to be over a hundred rogue werewolves.  I shifted into my wolf form, not even bothering to take my clothes off first. My wolf was exited for the action. She hated being stuck indoors for this long at a time.  We took off into the middle of this mess and began fighting for my life, my pack's life, and the lives of my mates.
