Chapter 19

1400 Words
Ethan POV It has been a week since Kyra's surgery and I haven't left her side once. I have tried mind linking my brother, but he has been off the grid. Not one of my men has been able to track him and he has been gone since the attack.  I know he is alive, but that is as much as I can tell. I don't like the goddess much, but even I have been praying to her lately. For both my brother and Kyras' sakes. "Alpha, Alpha Luna Kyra's mother is here to see her." One of the nurses informed me from the door. I instructed no one to enter the room without first stating business and asking for permission. I nodded, "Send her in." She opened the door wider and Kyra's mother walked in.  "Oh, my baby!" She grabbed Kyras' hand and I instinctually growled at her.  She looked at me, surprised but she didn't drop Kyra's hand. "Sorry," I mumbled.  "I understand, there is no need to apologize." She said, with a  knowing look in her eyes. "Tell me what happened." She demanded after a few moments of uncomfortable silence. ******This next part contains torture. If you feel the need to skip this part, you won't miss anything because it will be explained in another chapter****** Aiden POV This week has been torturous. My brother keeps trying to mind link, but the silver affecting my wolf makes it to where we cannot answer back. Each time he attempts to mind link, he updates me on Kyra's condition. Thankfully, she is doing okay, but she is in a medically induced coma so she can heal faster. I, on the other hand, am dying. Slowly. The silver is preventing me from healing as quickly as I normally would. And rouges love their torture.  Suddenly, the door flies open.  Ah, time for my daily exercise I see. "Stand up, you pathetic trash." The rouge snarled at me making me laugh. It hurt to laugh, but I wasn't gonna let him know that. "Something funny?" He asked, kicking me in the ribs, making me laugh more. "Yea," I coughed out, still laughing, "You call me pathetic trash, but you won't even let me out of these chains and let there be a fair fight. That makes you pathetic, sweetheart."  He growled at me and put his gloves on. He pulled the loose end of the chain I started lifting up off the floor. They had me strung to a long chain that they use to either suspend me off the ground or keep me pinned to it.  "Alright, smart a*s, how bout we play a little game?" He said, grinning. "What game would that be, beautiful?" I asked, using words of endearment to make him angrier. He is an extremely ugly man. Big and burly, covered in scars, and only has one eye left. "We are going to play hide the spike. It is an old, medieval torture technique usually referred to as the Judas Cradle."  Oh S***T!  That sounds painful. But, my stupid a*s had to reply with, "Sounds like fun, sugar. When do we start?"  He laughed, "You have balls, I'll give you that, but you are dumb as hell." He moved a chair right behind me. I looked back at the chair and there was a GIANT metal spike in the middle. He ripped my pants off and moved back in front of me. He gripped the chain in his hand and started lowering me. When the tip to the spike touched me, I grabbed hold of the chains and lifted myself back up. My hands started burning, but the damn spike was silver too, and it was about to go up. My. A*S! "WHAT THE HELL!" I yelled out, my wolf had come back so we could use our alpha ora and have more strength. We needed to escape this damn place. ************* Ethan POV "She was extremely brave," I said, finishing off my explanation. Her mother grabbed a tissue off the nightstand next to Kyra's bed and wiped her face. Her mascara was smeared because of her crying.  "Sounds like my girl." She said with a  sad smile. "She gonna be fine, you know. The doctors say she will make a full recovery." I was trying to make her feel better, but sympathy is new for me. She nodded, "I'll stay with her, but you need a shower. Go home, shower, and change. Take a nap. Something. You are covered in week old blood, you have bags under your eyes, and you look like you could use a decent meal." She said, her motherly side surfacing. I chuckled, "Sure thing. Call me if she wakes up, please." I added the last part, surprising myself.  What has this little girl done to us?  I said to my wolf, not expecting an answer. She is changing us. I think she may even break the curse. He said hopefully.  Agreeing with my wolf, I left the hospital and made my way home for a shower. Aiden POV The damn rouge kept lowering me, causing me to have to climb up the damn silver chains even higher.  He growled out in annoance. "Would you quit that!"  I laughed, trying to cover up my fear, "Your running out of chain beautiful, perhaps we should look to a different kind of torture, oopsie, I mean game." I wasn't trying to piss him off, not really, but being a smart a*s is the only way I know how to cope when it comes to these situations.  He let go of the chain, making me fall towards the spike. But, thankfully, I have legs.  I landed on my feet and grinned at the stupid rouge. Now I had all the chain. Now I was in charge. I grabbed the end of the chain and swung it around like a rope, 'lassowing' his neck. I kept wrapping it around and pulling until the silver burned through his neck. Pairing that with the amount of force I was using, I managed to decapitate him. Grinning, I grabbed the key ring off his belt and unchained myself.  Time to go home and see my mate. Kyra POV It was still dark, but the pain and the feeling of suffocating was gone. Now I was just numb.  I could hear voices in the distance every now and then, but just when I was about to attempt to peel my eyes open, something hot would flow through my veins and I would drift further back into the darkness. Starting over.  This time it was different though. I could hear an entire conversation and recognize the voices.  Ethan and my mom.  Mom? Ethan and my mom were having a conversation. He was telling her about the fight and how amazing and brave I was. He was telling her I was in a medically induced coma, but that my condition was stable and that I should wake up soon. Huh? Being in a medically induced coma kinda makes sense. It would explain why every time I try to open my eyes, I am forced back into the darkness. "I'll stay with her, but you need a shower. Go home, shower, and change. Take a nap. Something. You are covered in week-old blood, you have bags under your eyes, and you look like you could use a decent meal." I could hear my mom say.  I was too busy thinking about mom, I didn't hear Ethan respond or leave.  "Oh, baby. My little girl, you should wake up. Please wake up. I need to see you moving, being something that resembles being alive." I laughed in my head. I could feel my wolf stirring in the back of my head. She stretched like she had been asleep for a hundred years and shook out her fur. Time to open your eyes, Kyra. She said and that is what I did. It felt like it had been centuries since my eyes had been open. They felt crusted over and stiff, like all my joints. My muscles ached from being still for so long, but at the same time, my body was numb. My head was slightly fuzzy like I had been drinking. "Oh, my baby!" My mom gasped.  The lights were bright and the world was blurry.  "Mom?" I croaked out.
