Chapter 9: Hometown

"I don't like being away from home. While traveling the world can be fascinating, my hometown is still the most fascinating place I know."

-SAVANNAH ZEN POV-

I can't quite imagine why Luke decided to visit our hometown. While I waited for him, I packed my belongings and prepared presents for my family.

A few minutes later, Luke came with his expensive car. But I knew that car belonged to Brylle.

At my first glance of Luke, my heart pounded again.

"He is still the person who owns my heart," I whispered as I stared at him secretly.

"Hey, Sav! Good morning! Why are you staring at me? Do I look handsome in your eyes?" Luke asked mischievously. Here we go again, the boastful Luke.

"Handsome? Mhmm... You are not my Ex-boyfriend if you are not handsome!" I answered meaningfully and then glared at him.

"So, Do you still love me?" Luke asked me as he put his hands in his pocket. Why is Luke suddenly attractive in my eyes?

"If I said Yes? Will you leave your girlfriend?" I asked him as I raised my eyebrow. But I was just kidding him.

"If I leave my girlfriend, Will you accept my proposal to have a one-night stand with me?" Luke seriously said to me. Then, he stares at me that weakening my whole body.

"In your dreams, Luke!" I replied to him fiercely, and I averted my eyes from him. Why am I suddenly discouraged by s*x-maniac men?

"Hahaha! If you agree, I will forgive you for your sins against me." He added; and assisted me in getting my trolly bag into his car.

"Ask me anything except that one!" I gave a flat response.

"Alright, my dear!" He responded by opening his car door for me to enter. It's a miracle because he's become a gentleman now.

When we were on the trip, I was no longer aware of the time. I woke up in an unfamiliar room.

"Where am I? Why am I here?" I asked myself as I looked around to see if anyone was here or not.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" I asked again as I walked towards the living room. I was about to turn around when I met Luke, who had just finished taking a bath and still had a towel on.

"Hey, Luke! Why did you bring me here?" I asked him, and I couldn't help but stare at his rocky chest. I was shocked for a moment and blinked my eyes.

"It's already night, and I also want to be with you for at least one night. Don't worry! I won't seduce you." Luke replied and then pinched my cheeks. I could not speak. I was left speechless.

I'm just waiting for Luke to finish getting ready, so we can eat dinner because I'm starving. After a while, Luke came out as well.

"Why is my love frowning?" Luke asked me as he pinched my nose. I'm fascinated now by Luke's sweetness to me, but I just didn't let him know that I was affected by what he was doing. It is embarrassing on my part when he finds out.

"Luke! Don't come near me!" I warned him. It's because I love his fragrance and am afraid of falling into his trap. So I'll try to avoid him as much as possible.

"Why? Are you afraid of me? Or you can't control your emotions when I'm by your side?" Luke said as he stared at me and touched my cheeks.

"I'm hungry!" I told him to change our topic because I felt like I was blushing.

"Just wait a minute, my dear! I'll prepare our dinner." Luke said as he messed up my hair.

"Hurry up! You are so slow! Look, your pet was already starving." I said and laughed. But I'm just kidding him.

"Sorry, Madam!" Luke replied and smiled at me.

When he had finished preparing our meal, he called me to eat.

When we ate, I didn't say a word because I don't want Luke to tease me again.

"Why are you quiet, Sav? Didn't you like the food I ordered?" Luke asked worriedly. Then, he looked at my plate.

"It is so delicious! I just want to enjoy the taste of food here at the Hotel." I lied to him because the truth is, I was embarrassed to talk to him.

"It's good, and you liked it!" Then he put food on my plate. The former Luke, who was super caring is back now. So, I just let him do what he does.

After we ate, I went straight to the living room to watch TV. But Luke took the wine to drink.

An hour passed. I was surprised because Luke leaned over me and put his arm around me.

"Hey! Luke, what's wrong?" I asked him nervously. And I took his hand, but he tightened his grip on me.

"I just want to take advantage of this opportunity to hug you since I know it will be my last. I know the day will come when I won't be able to touch you, and you won't be able to touch me too. And, I'm hoping you'll permit me now." Luke worriedly said to me as he hugged me very tightly.

I could feel the warmth of his embrace, the fast beating of his heartbeat, and his deep breath. I regret what I did before, but there is nothing I can do about it now. So, I hugged him tightly and whispered to him.

"Luke, please accept my apologies, but the truth is that you are the only person I love and care about. I lied to you before for you to abandon me." Then, I wiped away my tears.

I couldn't wait for him to respond because I didn't want to hear him say he didn't believe me.

And, I let go of his hug and ran to the bedroom. I want to vent my resentment. I burst into tears, but Luke suddenly entered my room.

"Sav, Is it okay with you if I sleep next to you? Please?" Luke pleaded. So, I just nodded at him in response.

He hugged my back as I turned away from him and whispered.

"I'm sorry, and I didn't fight our relationships back then!" Luke whispered, but even though he was drunk, I could still feel his sincerity. Then, suddenly my tears flowed.

The next day, when I woke up, Luke was gone. And suddenly, my best friend Rose came into my room which surprised me. So, I wondered why she was here.

Was Luke the one who invited her today? That's why Luke seemed to bid me farewell last night. I wish I had just listened to Luke's response to my confession.

If only I knew.
