It was now morning. Link and Lydia wake up and lift their heads slowly. Link groans and yawns. They turn to look at each other.
"Morning." Link says in a sleepy voice. Lydia smiles.
"Morning." Link smiles back. Lydia stretches her arms over her head then puts the back down on the desk. She pushes herself up and pushes her hands down harder onto the desk to remain balanced. Link slowly gets up afterwards. "We don't want to lose anytime. We should leave tonight at night fall." She's still tired so it kinda slurs all into one. Link nods. She grabs her bag on the floor and puts the strap over her shoulder.
"What do we do in the mean time?" Lydia looks over to Link.
"We prepare. Do you mind going to get food? I know you used to be a chef here so I thought you'd know a good way around the kitchen."
"Yeah, I can do that. What are you gonna do?"
"Im going to get supplies. Just random things we might need." Link nods.
"Ill go get the food." Lydia nods. Link walks out of the library doors. Lydia follows behind a minute later. A while later they both meet up in front of the library. Link is carrying a bag too now.
"I got a lot of food that should last us a while. We can always hunt too."
"Yeah, thanks. I got supplies that we will probably need at some point. It doesn't seem like much but its more than you think." They both nod. "Before we go today I wanted to show you how to use your weapon. I thought that we need at least two people who know how to fight." They both giggle.
"Well, let's get to it then." They both smile. Lydia nods. They walk out to a forest area outside of the castle grounds. They both put the bags down up against a tree. Lydia opens her bag and pulls out 2 daggers and a sword. Links eyes widen.
"This is what we will be carrying. This is just the one I got for you. Mine is in the bag still and everyone else will be getting daggers. Here, test them out." Lydia puts out the weapons so that Link could grab them. He grabs the sword first.
"Wow, this is cool." The blade shines with the suns reflection. He steps back and swings the sword. Lydia smiles at his excitement. He looks like a kid in a candy store.
"Good practice it hitting it at the tree as if it was an opponent." Lydia grabs her sword out of the bag and demonstrates. "You see" She starts hitting both sides of the tree with the edge of the blade. "Make sure you hit with the edge not the top." Link nods and starts hitting a different tree. Lydia stops and admires.
"Like this?" Lydia smiles.
"Just like that." Link smiles.
-Time skip-
After training, it was already mid-day. Link wipes the sweat off of his forehead and pants. He hands Lydia back the sword but Lydia pushes it back to him.
"It's yours now. We don't need to go back in the castle so keep it. You should put on your uniform, it has a belt and scabbard already on it. Me and you both have one and we both also have two places to hold our daggers." Link nods and grabs his uniform out of his bag. He puts his sword on the ground and goes behind a tree and puts on the uniform. A minute later, he comes back out with it on and his old clothes in his hand. They both nod. Link puts his old clothes in the bag and grabs his sword from the ground. He puts the sword in the scabbard. Lydia hands him his daggers and he puts one in the holder on the other side of this waist and one on the opposite thigh. Lydia puts her sword and daggers in their scabbards as well.
"It's gonna get dark soon so we better go get the others." Lydia nods. They grab their bags and head to the ally. Once there, all of the others are already there in their uniforms.
"You guys got here early." They all giggle.
"Better than being late." Arden says.
"True" Lydia sets her stuff down against the wall in the ally way. She pulls out 2 daggers and hands them to Syla. She pulls out another 2 daggers and hands them to Arden. And finally the last two daggers and hands them to Garland. Everyone puts the daggers in their scabbards. Lydia stands up and faces the others. Everyone nods. "You guys ready for this?" They all look at each other.
"Yep." They all say in sync.
"Well then, let's get going." Lydia starts walking down the empty streets of the town with everyone behind her. They make it to the edge of the town and are about to enter the woods when, *bang* a load noise comes from the castle. Everyone turns their head as quick as you can read the letter "a". An explosion... it came from what looks like to be the kings room. The top of the castle in flames. People running out of the castle into the town. People from the town running out of their houses in fear. Everyone with fear in their eyes, except for Lydia. Syla covering her mouth in shock. Tears falling down Link and Garlands face. Ardens mouth and eyes is wide open I shock. Lydia looks up at the castle numb. No expression at all. Except, a single tear falls down her cheek.
"Long live the king," Lydia says and turns around to walk away.
