CH8-Ramus(II)

After a month full of intensive training and research we feel quite prepared as the full moon is just around the corner. The final day on Earth to us is tomorrow and as we filled everything we had intended to learn. I wanted to surprise Lexus with a day full of usual activities a normal human does. He had done nothing but stay indoors and read our books and teach me about my duties as a future guardian. He would surely be overjoyed and honestly, I thought I could also use this opportunity to thank him for helping me this whole month.

 I woke up as early as I could in the morning as I wanted to start our day by having homemade sweet treats with our coffee this morning and after that, we are going out to explore the world I was too afraid of until now. It is time I face my fears because once I face them once I can do it countless times. If I am scared of my world what pretensions to have from myself then to be able to survive in others.

I started baking some cookies and got wild while indulging in the relaxation it gives me and even baked some strawberry muffins that I took my time to decorate beautifully in pastel-coloured glaze and added some rainbow sprinkles. I always detach myself from worries when I do something for dear people, and slowly Lexus became a person I hold dear.

I woke up to the noise of rustle in the kitchen and the intoxicating smell of freshly baked goods and brewed coffee. I got up and dragged my body after the amazing smell. I opened the double door that leads to the kitchen to find Anna decorating some muffins, she looked kind of funny with her hair in a messy bun and her apron full of ingredients and some coloured glaze on her left cheek. I could not help but giggle a little not much but enough to make my presence obvious.

Good morning Anna! Whose birthday it is? Yours?

Oh! No, it is nothing like that, these are for you. I wanted to surprise you on your last day on Earth. Hopefully, they taste at least half as good as they look.

Thank you! You did not have to make all of this but I have to admit I am happy!

Why are you still there? Come take a seat, have some, let me just add at least sugar and whipped cream to your coffee.

I feel like a spoiled child. I like it.

Well after breakfast I want to do something different today and hopefully, you will cooperate with my plan,

It depends. Are you planning to kill me?

No, silly! I want us to go out. I mean we are in London, I am pretty sure we can find fun activities.

So it's a date!

After we had breakfast Anna handed me some normal human boy clothes, a pair of blue jeans and a black t-shirt and she even handed me shoes and a leather jacket. I felt like my grandfather. We got ready and of course, I had to wait downstairs for Anna. I was sitting on a couch in the lobby wondering what the hell do girls need an hour to get ready. But when I saw her coming down the stairs I remained breathless. I usually admire her beauty even when she has messy hair and wears loose pyjamas but seeing her all dolled up made my jaw drop. Her long legs were emphasised by a pair of dark skinny high waisted jeans paired with a cream-coloured turtleneck, she had some fun boots and a mint green leather jacket. Her outfit made her amazing bodyline pop and she had her flowy locks pulled in a low ponytail. She even had some makeup on but not too much just enough to define her already gorgeous features. I was petrified.

Lexus? Are you listening? 

I'm sorry you are just too beautiful and I had to take a second to come back to my senses. What were you saying?

She hesitated to repeat herself for a second shyly blushing 

I said we could take one of my father's cars.

Great idea. I'm driving!

Do you even have a license?

No, I don't need one I'm a natural when it comes to handling a man's job.

Can you be more arrogant than this? Please we are not in the dark ages anymore a woman can drive a stupid car, not to mention I even have a license so I will drive us around.

Fine by me darling. You know your way around the city anyway.

Actually not that much. This is the first time I"m going out without my father. I don't have any friends besides you, kind of sad.

Even better, more Anna just for poor little me!

We headed to the basement of the house to where Anna's father had an underground garage full of all sorts of cars. We had a little debate about which one looks cooler and finally decided to take out a yellow hummer. We drove around famous tourist attractions and we went even to the famous British Museum. It was fun to learn about the whole human history not only Ancient Egypt, although the Egyptian section was by far our favourite. After the trips here and there we headed to an Italian restaurant and had all sorts of food. This came as a nice surprise as I only mentioned to Anna once when we had a silly talk that I would love to eat Italian food, which she remembered. I had so much fun all day that I wanted to stop the time right this moment when we are laughing to our heart's content about trivial matters, just the two of us. Unfortunately, as all good things, this amazing day came to an end and when night came we had to prepare for our very long mission. I was scared as much as Anna but I could not show her that, I wanted to be her pilar to protect her and be honest with her even though the latter is kind of hard to accomplish but maybe the rest can compensate when the time is right.
