CH7-Ramus

Anna had woke up early in the morning like usually she barely got any sleep at all. She stared at the ceiling for a short while like she does every morning lately to take in everything that happens in her life right now. This new ritual helps her remain composed and with her feet stuck firmly on the ground. She hates to lose focus of her goal especially right now when her whole priorities changed in a second. At least she wasn't alone anymore, she had a friend now. It felt suffocating to be alone and search for something that seemed impossible. She felt relieved knowing that there was another soul, another beating heart in the house. 

She eventually got up and headed downstairs to the kitchen. She felt instantly the strong smell of fresh-brewed coffee. It was hypnotizing, Anna was the ultimate coffee lover. She opened the double door that led to the kitchen to find Lexus preparing coffee and waffles. The cheerful boy made Anna feel bad for being all mopish. He was humming while dancing so clumsily that she nearly burst out into laughter.

Good morning stranger! I see you have already settled in.

Ah! Yes, sorry for the mess but I thought we can relax this morning and treat ourselves a little considering the fact that after breakfast we will start our research. Besides, it's nice to eat with someone once in a while.

I always enjoy my coffee in the morning while debating various subjects with my father. It's our thing.

I don't know exactly to be honest because It's my first time travelling across dimensions myself. I only know that they have an exact order. Even if Anathema is considered D-1 and Earth in D12 they come one after the other but I'm not sure which one is next.

I will and you also when we become guardians. Anyway, I as you saw last night obviously came prepared for this. I have a digital map, a holographic one that shows the exact order of the dimensions.

How come you have so many things that belong to other dimensions, yet you were never actually there. Does your father bring you stuff, like souvenirs or something like that?

He does sometimes but mostly I got them while trading between the domes.

So it is actually true that in Anathema there are 12 domes, every one of them representing a dimension. I found the other day some books about it and did not give it as much thought as I am still in a state of disbelief honestly.

Yes, it is true, I think you have read The Codex of Anathema . You should re-read it carefully because that is the only book that has ever been made about my birthplace. Every family of guardians has one. It is actually made with pixie dust as ink and the pages are made of magic wood. The book writes the important present events as they happen.

Right away, boss! he said with a devilish smirk on his pretty face. In a few minutes, he returned to the kitchen holding something that looked almost like a small, probably made of metal beauty bag.

The second he opened the map it had exceeded my expectations entirely. He was so right about everything. I felt my jaw dropping but I tried with all my might not to show him that because I did not want to prove him right. The whole room was filled with holograms. It felt like a VR video game. It showed us that we were on Earth and that the next destination would be D-10.

What is on D-10 Lexus? What kind of place it is?

Well, it is similar to Earth or to be more exact it is a part of your world. It is what you now call Ancient Egypt, but among us, it is known as Ramus.

But how can that be possible? I mean Ancient Egypt was like thousands of years ago?

At first Earth and Ramus were twin worlds, only the timeline is different. Time passes differently in every dimension. What can be a month on Ramus can be a split second on Earth.

But if it is exactly like our history then I think we have an advantage for this world.

Which is?

One of my many passions in egyptology. I studied almost everything about Ancient Egypt ever since I could read.

So full of hidden talents. I like that.

Do you know what years or who is the pharaoh right now?

Unfortunately, I do not. I'm sorry!

Not even a hint about the dynasty?

None.

It's alright, I bet I can figure it out once we are there. Frankly, I know I should not be excited as it is somehow a life and death situation but I can't help it. The thought of being there in the middle of everything I read and see it with my own eyes is thrilling.

I'm glad you think that way, I'm sure it will be a sight to behold but hopefully, we will quickly do our job and then until the full moon we can go sightseeing.
