7. When Mate's meet

Nicolaas POV

One month, two weeks, 3 days and 6 hours. That's the time between my coronation and now. We were entering the Klienbay Pack's territory and I was burning to just shift and run to her. Her scent was gone after a week and I'm not embarrassed to say I was a complete and utter ass hole to everyone around me. It took everything I had not to just hop on a plane and bring her back to the Royal Pack lands. I still don't know how she even got into my room but I wanted her there ever single night and couldn't sleep at all.

So here we were a week before the Alpha meeting is to begin so that I can see all that she has achieved since her parents funeral. Even though it was about 7 o'clock at night, the sun was still high in Cape Town. It was one of the things I loved about this South African city. The sun in the summer would wake up early and go down late making the days longer which I loved. I barely registered my surroundings all I wanted was her. To tough her, to feel her, to kiss her.

We were coming up to what was the old Klienmont pack house... The house was bigger but other than that it still looked the same.. I was happy that our ride was over... except it wasn't we carried on going. I groaned out loud. "Sorry your Majesty, we are almost at the Bay Moon Mansion" I gave the wolf a nod. I was tired hungry and I wanted my mate. As we continued, I saw to my right a row of trees leading to what looks like a huge beautiful mansion. "What is that over there" " Aah that's the new pack house your Majesty. The Alpha thought that you might like a good night sleep before she takes you around the territory tomorrow. But that pack house is the best pack house I have ever seen."

I can't wait to see what she has done. I know she asked for my opinion a few times but at the end of the day she built that pack house from the ground up. We drove for about another 10mins and around at a third beautiful mansion. As I looked at it, the place kind of reminded me of the Bay Moon pack house but not at the same time... it definitely was three times the size of their old pack house that's for sure. I look out and see both the Baya and Gamma standing on the front patio... but no Alpha.

The car pulls up and we stop. " Oliver... Hey Oliver get the hell up we are here." "I'm up I've been awake the whole time man..." " Sure what ever get the bags" I get out and walk up the steps Hailey smiles at me " I would like to humbly welcome you to our new pack Die Klien Bay Pack. Please may I formally....." I grabbed her and gave her a huge hug. she started to laugh. " I'm sorry Hailey I know you are trying to be formal but I know you far to well for that" we both laugh. Before she can say another word I hear Oliver growl. We both turn around and their eyes lock. "MATE" "Hahaha well this is just perfect" I let her go and she runs off towards Oliver and jumps I to his arms... I just hope these rooms are sound proof.

As if he read my mind. " Don't worry your Majesty all the rooms in any of the mansions are completely sound proof Alpha made sure of it. Hi my name is Liam I'm the Gamma of Die Klien Bay" Liam gave me a big smile and extended his hand. I shook his hand and looked around seeing of Karmin was any where. "So where is your Alpha? How come she didn't come to great us?" That seemed to bring Hailey back to her senses. She got off of Oliver who looked sad at the loss of contact... " Um our Alpha had an issue that needed sorting out at the far end of our territory." " What!? Has she gone by sherself!!" " Yes your Majesty. She refused to put anyone else in danger over something small according to her."

I couldn't say anything. There wasn't much a king could over rule in terms of the day to day running of a well organized and looked after pack. I still wasn't a 100% sure that any one including Karmin knew we were mates. Finding her and showing up might just distract her and then put her I to even more danger. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat just as the rest of our convoy arrived. I groaned. I was hoping to sneak off with Karmin and not have to face Alexia and her crap. She hadn't stopped at all and the problem is she is cause crap within the restrictions I gave her so technically she isn't doing anything wrong.

No one other than Oliver, John and myself know Karmin and I are mates so her sending gifts and crap is well within the "rules" so to say. I never striped her of her Beta rank so I technically as not only being our top female fighter but a beta female too... I had to let her come. Oliver gave me a look as she walked over. "Nicolaas you guys left with out us!! why " She was f*****g pouting. She knows I won't cause a scene here. I hear a growl come from Hailey and Liam. I looked at them confused. Both had their eyes locked on Alexia but they seemed to maybe speaking through their mind link? It was hard to tell normally your eye glaze over when a wolf does.

Alexia took one look at Hailey. "Hey mutt I suggest you get your desperate hands off of my brother, and take my bags to my room. I thought this pack had more respect for the Royals but I guess Karmin doesn't run a tight ship here." She was testing her limits with me. I saw both Oliver, Hailey and Liam's eye change from their human eye colour to black and back again. Both Hailey and Liam walked up to Alexia boxing her in. Hailey grabbed her hair and yanked it down. " I don't know who the f**k you were calling mutt but it she as hell wasn't me. And as for my Alpha. Disrespect her again and I will rip your throat out do you understand me?"

Everyone fell silent and stopped what ever it was to watch them. Liam stood a little behind Hailey not making a noise or moment but if looks could kill Alexia would be dead. Alexia tried to remove Hailey's hand but Hailey just held on and yanked her down further.. The problem with the whole situation was that it was technically a punishable offense what Hailey was doing. No one from any pack regards of how anyone from the top three families of the Royal Pack were behaving, were actually allowed to threaten or "attack" the elite Royals.

Alexia whimpered at the pain. Oliver came around and put his hand on Hailey's shoulder, she immediately let go of Alexia who was checking her hair and rubbing the area where the hair had been pulled. Alexia loved the drama always did and even through she is a strong female wolf, she always liked to play the victim. " Oliver she mush be punished! She openly threaten me and hurt me" ... she was pouting again. Alexia hated Karmin and honestly she hated Hailey too. " Sigh. Normally yes she would, but seeing as she was clearly teaching her future sister-in-law some dam respect, we will let it slide." Alexia's eyes went wide. Now with Oliver finding his mate she was no longer the Beta female. even though her auror was still the same Hailey's would be stronger once she and Oliver mated and marked each other. Hailey was on her way to becoming the Royal Beta Female.

I watched in silence. Yes Alexia's auror was strong but what was surprising is that Hailey's and Liam's were stronger. I could see the rest of our group trying to not make eyes with them as if they were the top dogs so to say... Something is clearly going on here and I will find out. Alexia looked ate as if to say please help me... I turned to Hailey. " Seeing as your Alpha is not here and assuming you have accepted Oliver as your mate. Alexia was out of line to the new Beta female of the Royal Pack. I will allow you to choose a punishment for her." Alexia went red. She wasn't expecting me to allow Hailey to punish her. This wasn't how it worked when it came to problems within the top three families. Normally each family would just deal with it how ever they liked as a normal pack would, but I was tired of Alexia trying to come across as the Queen Luna and I was tired of her being rude. I couldn't do anything but that doesn't mean others couldn't. Hailey looked at me and nodded. " Seeing as how you treat a Beta of the second largest pack in the world, I would hate to see how you would treat our omegas. From now on when you are here on these pack lands, no omega will wait on you. No room service, no house keeping the room you will be staying in. You will always Dish for yourself unless at a formal or special event."

" Agreed. I won't have any mistreatment of any omegas. This will be so Hailey and please make sure all your omegas know. Now if you would kindly show is to our rooms I would much like to shower and sleep." " But of course your Majesty. Please let me show you Oliver and John your rooms. Liam will arrange for trays to be sent up for dinner. I am sure you must be hungry. oh and Alexia I suggest you hurry up with getting your food, I won't wait for you forever." Alexia gave me one last look before huffing, grabbing her bags and walking inside to what I am assuming is the kitchen... The other of our group got there bags then followed Liam inside for him to show them there rooms. The only people who were missing was our elders but their flight was delayed so they will only be getting here tomorrow.

I sighed and made a mental note to lock my door tonight. Alexia hadn't stopped her crap and I was getting tired of it really. I'm hoping that if I complete the whole mating process with my mate she would back off but knowing her she would just try to make her life a living hell. Oliver and Hailey were hanging back and I knew they wanted to speak to me about something... " So my King" I rolled my eyes at him. " Don't start she will know soon enough how informal we are with each other. And yes you can go to her room tonight. I have my Gamma and the best Royal Pack warriors with me I'll be fine." They should have some time alone I'm sure Karmin will try to find away for her Beta to stay.

" Oh before I forget. The Alpha has invited you and your party for breakfast tomorrow at 08:00. She then thought you could have a tour of both the new pack house and the Klienmont mansion, come back for lunch at the pack house and then she will sit down to give her full report." I raised my brow. Hailey was telling g her king what was going to happen.. not asking but stating. I looked at her closely. She was not fearful of me. There was definitely something going on with these wolves, I could feel it coming off of Liam too. What ever was going on I know Karmin will tell me tomorrow.

I sighed. " Thanks Hailey we will be there. So I hear this is built after the palace? " " Yes, the Alpha wanted to make sure that everyone felt at home in terms of the layout. " " Thank you I will go to my room now. I'll see you two in the morning." I turned and walked inside and stopped. This place was beautiful. The Royal crest was the first thing you saw as you walked in. The entrance was just like the palace but the decore was definitely modern. I looked to my left and there were the stairs going up to the bedrooms. I started my climb, I knew that my floor was right at the top and I knew where the bedroom is.

As I walk past the Beta's floor Alexia stood there clearly waiting for me. " We are all alone Nicolaas. Come on no one will know just come to bed with me. You know you want to make me your Queen. I would be a strong Queen." " When are you going to just stop Alexia. We had s*x 3 times that was it. We only ever socialized in a group. I was weak the first time and the last two times you drugged me because I told you no. I have been nice to you about this. I should have never spoken to you about maybe becoming my chosen mate, it was wrong of me to give you false hope." She stood there fuming. She took a deep breathe and then walked up to me and kissed me. She slipped her tongue in my mouth and before I could push her away she stepped back. " You see your body wants me." She was looking at my hard C**k. She smirked. " I'll see you later, make sure you keep your door open" She winked and before I could say anything she turned and walked off.

Will let out a loud growl.

W: You don't deserve our mate

N: Sigh I know ok! We only think she is our mate by her scent but we don't know for sure!I'm a man ok a f***king king! I haven't had any release!

W: Not a good enough excuse human. I'll kill her if she comes anywhere near us again.

I cut off the link. Will was right but I'm still a man. I'm hoping that Karmin is my mate but I'll only know for sure when I see her. I felt ashamed for how my body reacted to Alexia but I couldn't help it. I was horny as hell and the woman I wanted wasn't here. I guess one more night wouldn't hurt. I got to my room, closed and locked the door. I didn't want Alexia and I knew as soon as I saw Karmin my body would only react to her touch. I walked to the bathroom and saw that all my toiletries were already packed out for me. I jumped in the shower and tried to clean off the feel of Alexia's touch. I threw on a pair of shorts and took my tray off food to the balcony and started to eat my dinner.

The sun had finally gone down but the air was far from cool. I looked over to the treeline that was a buffer to the back end of the territory. I sighed. I wonder if she will understand and forgive me for what happened with Alexia. When I thought of what I would say to her on the matter I shook my head. It sounded like stupid excuses that some pup would try to come up with. It was more accepted for a man not to wait for his mate, it was still frown upon and the male would t a harsh talking to but other than that, that was it. I'm guessing that this was because he had to then earn the trust of his mate because let's be honest she would have waited. This is why Alphas try to find their Mate's as soon as possible because s*x was a Greta way to remove the stress of the title, even if it is just for the night. I had waited for mate. I had waited until I found out that the girl that I liked was not my mate. It crashed me more than I thought it would and in my stupid anger and misery I slept with Alexia, but sleeping with her never gave me even a little bit of the calm I needed.

As I looked out I thought I could see... Purple eyes looking back me. As I was about to jump down and go have a look the door handle jiggled as if someone was trying open it. As I turned back the eyes were gone. f**k dam Alexia. She called out softly but I didn't answer. I heard her huff and then walk off. I was restless and Will was pacing in my head. Something was going to happen, something big and I just knew it was going to change my life forever.

The thought of seeing her tomorrow had my heart racing. I got into bed and just laid there until sleep finally took me.

I woke up to my Gamma banging on my door. " Hey yooour Majesty we are going to be late for breakfast and I'm huuuungry!" I sighed got up and got dressed. I didn't want to be too formal but I still had to dress like a king I guess. I walked out my room and down the stairs and saw everyone waiting for me. I didn't even look at Alexia which earned me a small growl from her... I was pretty sure this woman was going to die by the end of today. Will was pacing and urging me to hurry the hell up and I was doing all I could to not just shift and run to Karmin.

After about 10mins we reached the Pack house and I finally understood what my mother was taking about. The scent of peonies and vanilla hit my nose and Will started to go crazy. There she was at the top pf the steps. She had changed. She was still 4.9 feet small and petite but she we toned as well as having curves in all the right places. She was wearing high waisted linen white pants that stopped just bellow a soft pink crop top that came up to her neck but left her arms bare I saw she had some visible tattoos and couldn't help but wonder if she had any hidden ones too. He hair was no longer a brown but now a short firey Aurburn that suited her sun-kissed kiss perfectly. But when I got to her eyes..

My whole world just stopped. Suddenly my world was centered around this beautiful she wolf. I could feel the mate bond that had been hinted at. Her breath hitched in her throat as I walked up to her. "Mate" She said witj the biggest smile on her face. But before I could answer Alexia came out of no where. " I Alexia the Royal Beta Female hereby challenges The Alpha of the The Klien Bay Pack for the right to be The Queen Luna and The King's mate." I let out a horrible growl. How could she do this. Even if she won I would have her killed. " I accept your challenge. We would meet in one hour at the packs training grounds" I looked at Karmin. Accept her challenge? Karmin was an Alpha but those of the Royal Pack were stronger than most. But those of the top three families were extremely powerful. A Gamma could easily take on an Alpha and win.

" Now if everyone but Alexia would like to join me for breakfast out by the backyard." and witht hat she turned and walked inside. I stood there looking after her before heading in. Thr pack house was beyond what I was expecting. The whole bottom floor was designed so that the whole pack could use it. a huge lounge with couches that look ready to swallow you whole. A games room that looked like it at everything from video games to a pool table. A hall that looked like it open led up to the back yard. A dinning room that look as if it cod hole at least a third of the pack.. And a kitchen that would be the dreams of any 5 star chef. We walked out to the back and was met with a huge swimming pool. The deck felt like it stretched on for ever. There was a table set up with a coffee machine sitting on the bar. I looked at Kain who was sitting at the head of the table. I joined her not thinking that since I was here the King, it was rightly my spot at the head. I sat next to her and once everyone was seated the food was served.

I looked at her as she sipped her coffee and smiled to thw rest of my pack. I saw that Hailey and Oliver were sitting on her other side with Liam sitting next to my Gamma to my right. Everyone looked happy and content. This would have been am easy integration of the two packs if it wasn't for Alexia. " Yes we will be able to interact very well with each other. We are going to have to discuss which pack is moving where but I thing for now let's just enjoy this." She responded as if she was simply reading my mind. " Maybe I was." She winked at me. I didn't know what to say. I just look led at her in complete shock. My parents always said she was special but then again she was always special to me so I never thought much of it. I kept looking at her marking spot and how I just wanted to take her right them and there.

"Soon my love. But first I need to put a mutt in her place." " I know I promised everyone a tour but alas I have a mutt to deal with. Please you all are more than welcome to come to the challenge and then we will come back here for lunch with some of the Klienbay Pack members" with the she got up and gave my shoulder s squeeze before leaving to get ready. I just looked after her. I hadn't said a word to her because honestly I still couldn't believe this was all happening and that dam Alexia was ruining what I had wanted for as long as I could remember.

"Dude seriously you didn't even talk. you just looked at her like a love sick puppy" Oliver was laughing at me. I groaned he was right I just couldn't stop staring at her and hell I'm meant to be a king. No she wolf regardless of whether she was my mate or not should make me loose my dam mind like this. All I knew is that no matter the out come of this challenge I was never going to accept Alexia and she knew that. I also knew that Alexia doesn't like it when she can't get what she wants and would have no problem in killing Karmin.

I wasn't looking forward to this but I didn't what to stop it either because I didn't want it to seem like I had no faith in my mate. I sighed. " I guess we better go and get ourselves comfortable for this challenge. Please may the elders follow me and join for the challenge of the Title of Queen of the Lunas." There was a small gasp. Oliver's face was blank as he stared at his father who just got here 10mins ago. He growled and his face was red but his mate couldn't help but have a small smirk on your lips. This Beta women have always been power hungry for as long as I could remember. My mother and her were never close and I knew this was because this woman had tried with father even after he found mother. Alexia was never going to stop and I made a mental note that today was the last straw and after this challenge she was done.

I got up. " I know you are worried but you really don't need to be. Alexia has nothing on our Alpha. Just remember, this challenge is only going to last as long and Karmin allows it." Liam gave me reassuring smile. I smiled back it didn't really meet my eyes. " Alright please follow me to the training grounds. Please may one of our omegas fetch the mutt and bring her to the grounds." Hailey got up and walked over to Oliver's parents. She wasn't even embarrassed for calling their daughter a mutt and I could she Oliver's mother glaring at her while his father embraced her. Sigh I had a feeling this wasn't going to end while at all.
